  1. Congrats to TC you guys are a very good, conditioned, well coached and deserved state champ. I knew you all would be. I want to say that from all of us from Robertson County we are proud of Jo Byrns and playing a good game. We have proven that we can play toe to toe with the big boys, but what seperates good teams from great ones is mistakes. Jo Byrns left to much on the field tonight. Two turnovers in the redzones and two interceptions late. If we could have and should have scored on the opening drive and the one before the half this game is a little different, but not to take anything from TC their defense is a reason as well that we didnt score. They just missed two wide open recievers #83 was open on the 4th down play on a quick slant and on the throw right before the half that was intercepted #17 was open on the wheel route for a touchdown. Congrats to TC for a big win. I just believe that this Jo Byrns team could play with anyone in the state that is 1A.

    BUMP BUMP BUMP!!!!!!!!!!!! SO TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Congrats Yellow jackets, my pick from day 1. Also have to Jo Byrns some credit, I think you proved yourselves a worthy opponent. Only one team can win, but I'm sure both sides have winners.

Now for the West catching up thing, don't get too excited . This wasn't a strong year for the East. Last years South Pitt or the 05 Trousdale team was much better . I saw them all am I'm sure alot pf people in the East would back me up.

as far as talent goes the 05-07 JB teams were MUCH MUCH MUCH more talented. with a couple playing college ball out of each graduating class. some already starting in their respective colleges. but this years team peaked in the playoffs. something that the 05-07 teams never did. so this year was a relatively weak year for the west as well. if jb is representative of the west that is.

congrats to TC for winning the state championship and the most arrogant fans award. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

    im done on this thread.

  5. Dude everything you said is a LIE. WAKE UP. LK had 22 carries, NO TC player had over 17. LIE #1

TC had 61 in penalties LIE #2.

You are what we call a Dumb Donkey, if you know what I mean.

TC had 2 runningback over 100 yds. Both with less carries than LK.Maybe you should watch the game again.

i didn't watch the third. so i was not informed. i went off what i saw. but at least 40 of those(the ones i saw) were good calls. the other 21 i don't know about. but tc was pushing it. they probably deserved the other penalties too. and i didn't know the exact stats. like i said. i was going off quarter 1-2,4. based upon those i was right. even if i wasn't i didn't mean to give incorrect info. LK did a good job running and did much better than any TC thought he would. heck i was hearing it was going to be 50-0. not a chance. it could have been a one score game if jb had run the whole time and chewed up the clock. still couldn't have won but could have made it very close. but this is yalls thread. im gettin off. congrats to TC again. yall played a great game.

  6. sorry but it wasnt ''almost'' they got beat down in the fourth and that counts as a quarter just like the rest so it wasnt close for me. opinions vary.

reverse rolls. what if it was 14-14 at the end of the third and then TC lost 31-14. would it have been a beat down then. i think you would be singing a different tune. it was a close game. whoever won it was a well fought game and jb went toe to toe with them for the whole game. tc scored a touchdown with about 7 left in the fourth. jb had to score quickly and threw two interceptions bc they didn't have time to score with their run defense. if they would have just played smash mouth like they did earlier the score would have been 21-14. maybe 28-21. it would have been a 1 td spread. i've played and seen A LOT of football. and i know that is how it would have worked out. but i'm done with the subject. that is my opinion.

  7. i hate that '' the score didnt show how close the game was'' lol. It doesnt matter its what the scoreboard shows at the end of the game and it show jb wasnt in it til the end. they hung around for a little while but then tc put the beatdown on them. they werent in good enough shape to play 60 minutes with the big dogs sorry!

sure. whatever you say. i can't argue with people who are blind to the truth. the FACT is that is was a close game whether you admit it or not. jb played with the big dogs and did fairly well. might have lost but they are still champions.

  8. ha ha, the refs gave ya'll half the yards ya'll got. TC DOMINATED the line of scrimmage AGAIN. JB defense was mediocre at best. That QB just kept throwing us balls. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> TC's 11 beat JB and the REFS.

then not only do you know nothing about football, but you know nothing about the rules of the game either. those personal fouls were well called. pushing someone once you are already five yards out of bounds deserves a personal foul. and the first one was very obvious. if jb had ran the ball in the first they would have had two extra TD's. that would make it 31-28 and jb would have went in up at the half. who knows what that would have done. plus LK had over 100 yards rushing on a lot less carries than the tc runner, who had just a little more. i think jb held their own and did just fine. you can't deny that they played their hearts out. that is all that anyone can ask from them. they held their own as well. it wasn't 14-14 at the end of the third for nothing. and tc had less than 40 in penalties. jb had over 250 total offense( i don't know exact number), but 40 is hardly half of 250.

  9. nice call but just about everyone but you picked TC because they know a great football program when they see it not a lucky team makin there FIRST trip to the boro!!!

as you saw jb didn't make it there by luck. the score was not indicitive of how close the game was. it was 14-14 at the end of the third. if jb would have ran the ball earlier in the game it would have been 31-28. TC would have still won but it wouldn't have been by much.

  10. Congrats to TC on their victory. Game was a lot closer than the score showed. TC was the better team. If JB had stuck to the run the score would have been 31-28. TC would have still won but it would have been A LOT closer.

Also Jo Byrns fans and especially players, hold your head high. It is an honor to be considered one of the top two teams in the state and you should be so proud of yourselves. You played your heart out and gave it all you had. That is all that anyone can ever ask from you. You will always be Champs in my mind and the minds of the Jo Byrns community. You have started a new tradition. The tradition of competing for the state championship. you have set an example for all jo byrns football teams to come. now they know that it is possible for kids from this little hick school to do something amazing, win a state championship. you have all done something for this community that you will probably never realize. you made it to the state championship and held your own against one of the best programs in tennessee. may you all forever be remembered as a team of champions who worked together to achieve the impossible.

  11. The first one was a late hit. The second was questionable..but he wouldnt quit running with him out of bounds holding him up. Picky, I agree. But they have to be smarter than that.

JB needs to stick to the run..He threw into double coverage three times. If JB is going to throw it they need to throw slants or to the RB.

TC is running at will with not very big or fast runners. Getting chunks of yards. TC will win if they keep that up.

i agree. if jb would have stuck to the run the entire time it would probably be a tie game right now. or maybe even jb up by a score. but tc has scored on every possession and I don't see that stopping. jb has no answer for that style offense and they never have. but jb isn't playing as good as they did last week. as far as the calls go I haven't seen any that are questionable. if you keep on pushing someone when you are already five yards out of bounds you deserve to have a call against you. also that first hit was late no question about it. and the offsides are obvious. i don't see bad calls being made here. looks like good umping to me.

if things keep on the way they are going i see tc winning by 2 td's or more. if jb starts running the ball every play it could be a closer game. a td or two spread. if jb does win it will be by a point. nothing more.

  12. Do I detect some sarcasm? Are you already planning on playing the "Enrollment Card" if you lose?

Well, little JB, it is NOT impossible for you to slay the giant. Once upon a time, many years ago, there was a small school (approx. 200-225 students) that beat Gallatin, Hendersonville, Nashville Overton, Nashville Cumberland, Portland, Macon County, etc. The enrollments of the schools they defeated were at least twice their enrollment. Some of them may have had enrollments 3-5 times the little school's enrollment. There were no classifications back then, and the little school DID NOT know any better than to play all its neighbors (no matter how big they were). They didn't whine, complain, or make sarcastic remarks about an opponent with a larger enrollment. They just went out on the field, and defeated ALL of them.

So you see, ENROLLMENT may not be as important as you think.

Here's your chance; go slay the giant and celebrate.

your exactly right. my grandfathers team in the sixties did the same thing. he played for jb. went 12-0. i even got his starter jacket that has their record on it. those guys were little back then.

  13. I believe this CPR guy might have a dislocated shoulder from patting himself on the back so much.

The only thing that CPR missed with his acute chemistry verbage was the addition of a poem done in verse of iambic pentameter....since you use the word "if" a lot...let me help you...I will add later your overuse of the pronoun "I".

"If "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts, we'd all have a Merry Christmas"...............where is snoflake when you need him

i like this thread more when the vocabulary expands to encompass iambic pentameter. nice diction my man. and tc fans bring out the worst in me. i wasn't like this last week

  14. So you dont believe me, TC could have scored every time they touched the ball in that game. In fact, in the second game with Watertown in the 2nd round of the playoffs. The TC team you are going to play, not the 05 team, put up 42 points in the 2nd quarter. If they continued to score like that for all four quarters, they would have scored 168 on one of the top 15 teams in the state. Yet, you dont believe me when I say that a team that most would agree is better than this years team could have beaten an RBS team that didnt even make TC's starters break a sweat by 250+. You scoff, I'm guessing you major in eligibility.

i was talking about tc not running up the score

  15. SHUT UP!!!! You have no clue what you are talking about. If TC wanted to "BEAT RBS TO DEATH" they would have. TC could have easily put up 250 points in this game. EASILY, and that is not an understatement. There were only around 30 kids on that TC team anyways, so the last string was the third string with a few seconds in there. The fact of the matter is, TC was a class act that night. They played RBS and they respected them, they did not run up the score.

yeah. and elephants have the ability to defy gravity and instantly teleport to water.

There was a post a little while back referring to Trousdale not fairing to well in the early 2000's.

For those that might not know, they were in 3A 2001-2004.

They had one of the smallest enrollments for 2A schools.(They played up.)

They lost in the semi's two of those years to the eventual state champs, so I'd say they were among the best in three classes anyway.

CPR talked about how JB's linemen's technique will give them the advantage over the bigger TC linemen. However, TC's linemen will play as soundly as the best JB lineman probably better. TC will be the most disciplined and sound team that JB will have played this year. But as they say, any given Friday, I just don't think an upset will happen in 1A this Friday.

As for as running up the score, it is picking your poison. I've seen plenty of games where they have gotten out of hand. As far as freshmen and JV in the game, if they can score, let them play. They work just as hard as the starters, and there parents are there to see them play like the starters. LET THEM PLAY. This is also why I'm not a fan of taking a knee unless it's a close game.

i agree with picking your poison. and the size difference will only show its face later in the game. and i have no doubt that TC will be the best team JB has played since 2005.

  16. the only experience we had where we couldn't help but score was in 05 when i was a junior. we were playing nashville christian i think and we scored 35 in about 6 minuites. then we put in the freshmen and they scored. then coach would punt right when we got the ball and try 50 yard field goals and stuff like that. even gave them the chance to score sometimes by downing it on fourth down to give them the ball in our territory. he just gave them every chance to make it a close game. it was great experience for our punter though. his in game punt average went up by 10 yards after that game. so it wasn't completely useless.

A question must be asked of the team you "gave" these chances. Did they feel respected by your team or pitied by your team. Weren't you saying "We are so much better than you that we don't even have to try and we can beat you." I believe that the attempt to make it a close game by purposely turning the ball over was much more disrespectful then playing the game properly. I was at that RBS game. There was no joy in the coaches after that game, no calculated sending a message. There was some satisfaction for the RBS team when they made a good play and they made several. They knew that, for that play, they had out performed a good team. No one gave them that, they earned it

once again. it is a matter of opinion and mine is no better than yours and vice versa. no one wins in a situation like that. there is no right answer. you like organic chemistry so i will use a parallel. the use of benzene in everyday products. is it right or wrong. it is known to be a genetic mutagen due to its similarity to the geometric formations of nucleic base pairs. is the damage permanent...probably not, yet it is still harmful. if you don't use it you take away products like plastics and other items essential to modern culture, but if you do then there is a powerful mutagen that you are exposed to day in and day out. your darned if you do and your darned if you don't.

That is a wonderful essence of awareness you have established there Mr. CPR4u naturally acheiving growth and wisdom through the slowness of passing time. And when you arrive at your unadultrated destination you with no doubt will know the enevitable and that is THE JACKETS will have to employ a survey crew to tally up the yardage they will have trodden upon the Devils come Fri eve. Now there is a little something for you to ponder as you wander /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

haha! nice! the old english touch made it worth the read. yet the intellect was less than stimulating. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  17. And, how many times did you make it to the State, junior?

i made it to college ball. but thats an individual accomplishment based upon physical ability and mental sturdiness. how many class 1A football players made it to college ball in 06. i will go out on a limb and guess not very many. a handful at best. however, my success is testament to my coaches. nothing more. without them i would not have had the technique to play well, and therefore would have never been recognized. i had the same coach that the jbhs players have now and he is an AMAZING coach. that is how I know that size will not only fail to intimidate them but be their ally. he taught me the technique and mentality needed to beat bigger and better players. and it worked quite well. i have the utmost confidence in my coach and his players. im not saying that jb will win. to be honest the chances don't look that well. however, i do know that they will give their best and that is all anyone can ask out of them. i will be proud of them regardless the outcome.

And, how many times did you make it to the State, junior?

    i watched TC play at state in 05 /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> does that count! lol /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />

  18. Obviously!! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

no need to conform to societal norms. the generally accepted behavior exhibited by a so called "grown up" varies from culture to culture. therefore, i do not worry myself with rushing to conform to a system flooded with self-supporting egos. ill just let mine wander on the the brink of controversy.

  19. 38devils, I'm not belittling your team, school, fans. Just this particular poster that thinks we

owe him a living just because his team has made it to the finals. I have all the respect for

Jo Byrns, win or lose. This dude just needs to calm his statements down a mite, and not blow a

fuse just because some disagree with him. Certainly, there are some on here from TC that do

the same. I suggest they do the same. Likely neither will. There is an ignore check for this.

Looks like we'll both have to use it.

The point I was attempting to make with this poster, is the fact that the West bracket has

not proven successful vs the East over the years in the title game. This is not, & not intended

to be, putting Jo Byrns down. Point was/is, when the West achieves dominance over the East,

then get on the stump. Until then, wait until it happens, before you crow too loudly. This may

very well be your year to crow, but until then, the East still has bragging rights.

For what it's worth, In the event TC loses, I'll guarantee you this TC poster will give Jo Byrns

all the congrats you have earned. Feel free to pull this post back up & remind me if you like.

I wish you a safe trip, injury free game & great second place finish.

nice! now im done. finally got a little respect. great post!
