  1. No, i dont think so at all. In the past few years Knoxville has done well in HS 03-04, but Bearden was not the best team this year, not to take away anything from them. I thought they were ok, but not that good. Hendersonville dominated them, but couldnt score. But, that's the way it goes sometimes, the best team doesnt always win it all. Props to Bearden for winning though, all they did was sit back and defend.Knoxville has NOT dominated HS soccer whatsoever ths year.

Club soccer is being almost totally dominated by Nashville, Franklin, Brentwood teams, just look at the list of state champions it is more than 80% nashville area teams across the board boys and girls.

Is that some kind of a joke??? You think Club soccer is being dominated by Nashville? Do you know anything about club soccer? I guess not. Well, maybe I can help you with the actual result of club soccer. Here is a list of the State Championships div 2 for the boys until U13 then div 1 from U14 on: U11 boys champs Crush- Knox. U12 boys champs Little Brasil- Knox. U13 boys champs Memphis Falsons- runner up Impact- knox. U14 boys champs East Ridge- Chattanooga. U15 Boys champs Crush- Knox, runners up Impact- Knox. U16 Boys Champs TNFC.. Hey...finally someone from the Nashville area (the 1st one) runner up Crush- Knox. U17 Boys Champs- Impact Knox. U18 Boys Champs TNFC (2nd Nashville team) U19 Boys Champs Fire- Knoxville. That's 5 champions from Knoxville and 3 runner up's. 2 champions from Nashville 4 runner up's. Compete with Knoxville...YES. Dominate??? Just looks at the results!!!

  2. I wasn't sure about the red-but I think I did count 7 yellows issued to CBHS.

Yes, there were many yellows given to CBHS and half should not have been called. The officiating was bad for both sides. I think that the missed offsides by BGA in overtime was what cost CBHS an undefeated season. That was a terrible miss by the bald headed lineman. Does any one review these games???

If not, they should be. That center in the game does a lot of games in the Knoxville area, and whenever he is in the middle- I know the game will be a disaster for someone- or for both teams at the same time. This time it was bad for them both.

  3. I'm sure there are some who may disagree, but I thought the officiating was first class this year. We (Catholic) had three different crews and all were very consistent. All of them seamed to understand that the games were high level and they were goning to be physical. They really let the boys play without blowing the whisle every time players went shoulder to shoulder. Overall, I was very pleased with the officiating. (I just wish the posts were more generous)

I think the officiating for the CBHS vs. BGA was a tremendously bad job of officiating. The center ref had no clue. He is never in the right place to make the best calls. The red card foul called on the BGA player was pathetic. The CBHS players had many more fouls that weren't even a yellow. And the reply of the "spikes up" I was very close and that did not happen.

  4. Who do you think will win the first round game between Knoxville Catholic and CCS? This will be a very close game and one great team will be going home afterwards.

I don't know much about CCS, but Catholic has a balanced team. The seniors are placed very well. The mid-fielder Doug Hall is very, very good and poised. He distributes well and is a true team player. Their forward, Joey Pierce (I think that is his last name) is fast and will attack. That Kid named Chase N??? is an active, energetic player with great skill and he is non-stop....a coach's blessing. There defense is anchored by big, fast palyers... hard to beat. I have watched those kid's play through the years..it is too bad they have to get old! The best thing about Catholic is...they have a smart coach who does everything he can to win. That seems to be a problem in this area...club's want to train and train and train. A coach want's to win.

    Good luck Catholic!!

  5. i do hope for alot of pk's, they are always great to watch.

if any team does get into a shoot out, how about letting the rest of the fans know so we can watch.

Tin Man, I know who you are. You have always been a phenominal player. I heard you got a completely paid scholorship in Kentucky. That is awesome! Free college. It is a tremendous shame that TSSAA made you ineligible. Did you play only 2 years of high-school? I know you were an All-state mid-fielder last year. As a sophmore you played at Oak Ridge and started every game, I think! They, Oak Ridge, made it to the finals that year and lost to Farragut. Tell me more about the reason for not be allowed to play this year- please. As a senior at Bearden, had you been playing, I have no doubt that they would be undefeated and ranked #1. Good luck in College!!

Hey mjuhb, I have been reading these messages for month's...this is my first reply. I have watched a lot of soccer this year and seen many teams. Something that I have always looked at is the quality of opponent's. I judge the strength of someone's schedule (by the end of the season) by how many teams they have played that have won 10 games. That is usually half of the total- so in approx 20 games, give or take, 10 wins is a good season. The totals for the remaining teams in AAA is as follows. Brentwood has played 7 teams with 10 wins or more, Houston-7, Hendersonville 8, Ridgeway 7, Riverdale 3, Ooltewah 5(and only beat 1 team out of those), Farragut 11, Bearden 13. That says a lot about Farragut and Bearden- they play the toughest teams possible. That's why they are in the finals so often. For that reason, I believe Farragut beats Riverdale- they, Riverdale, have not played at the level Farragut is used to playing all the time. Bearden can beat Brentwood, it will simply be a matter of which Bearden team is at the field- they have played well recently and appear to be peaking at the right time. It is tough to generate offense against their defense. Houston beats Hendersonville in maybe the closest game of the quarterfinals, and Ridgeway beats Ooltewah- who I think got lucky to beat a very good McMinn Co. team.
