1. Glad to hear Shelby is doing good, Ricky. I'm going to call you after I talk with Coach Edmondson. I'd like to take you up on that offer of a middle school scrimmage if he is okay with it. Maybe the 3rd week of February. I'll talk to Mike and get back to you.

Mike,

I dont coach the Jr High anymore. But I can you a name and number of who does.

2. I personally think parents stealing signs and tipping off batters is unethical however if the girl on second wants to lift one arm or give another signal indicating if the catcher is set up on inside or outside well I think it is fair game. If the catcher is lining up too early behind the plate that is her fault. She is being sloppy. It is letting the girls play the game. If the girls pick up sloppy signals between the pitcher and catcher ...well too bad.

By the way Stinnett, while you are on line...how is your daughter doing after surgery?

Thanks for asking, she doing great. Dr Elrod released her about two months ago to start thowing. She should be close to 100% by opening day but we are not going to push it intil she ready.

3. I heard from 3 different sources (2 of which were not parents or really had any ties directly to the pitchers) that the Stinnet dad had stole TCA coach's pitching signs. The Forrest girls sure did take a lot of rise balls that stayed flat and hit curve balls to right field and waited patiently on some change-ups. I don't know, I don't watch for things like that but I do know that a team can hit lots better in the box and be relaxed if they know whats coming. Oh well, that was last year, a new season is approaching and I am sure Forrest and TCA will be there again along with some other great single A teams like Huntingdon and Friendship. I wish the best to all the teams across the state!

Your sources were wrong. I don't do it and don't teach the base runners on second base to give loction away like most teams do. I know alot of coaches may get the signals and thats fine. I know we change signals every inning.

Ricky Stinnett

4. Way to go Lady dawgs!!!!!!!

Great team effort tonight, awesome hitting and great defense.

Keep on rolling........

Good job and good luck /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> . Marshall co. has some great teams /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />.

RS - FORREST LADY ROCKETS

5. Good Luck in region, you should be fine there. And id LOVE to see you guys play Forrest @ state and beat them!!! That district or region they are in now doesnt compare to what D11 or R6 has.

The district 9A may be down but Region I' m not sure about. East Robertson is a very good team . Forrest over the years has played in both districts with good results. Good luck to all Teams.

P.S I wolud like to see Cornersville and Forrest both in State for Marshall Co.

6. whats the record against cornersville , count the current players , also jr. high same players. I dont hate forrest , respect them and what they have achieved. Good coaching helps.

Cornersville is the best team in Marshall Co. can we move on? Forrest plays to go to State. We dont set goals just to beat Cornersville. Freindship,Trinty and many others that are in State every year is the record against we both need to worry about.

7. After seeing cornersville pitching stinnett is slow and average

20-3 .79 era this year with wins over Riverdale and other good programs. ( slow and average is hard to hit sometimes). Thanks for the post Dawgs123 we feel the love at Forrest.

8. For once I will disagree with something you said, mrnoitall. The game that the girl pitched for Forrest against FCS was her first game of the day, and Hailey for FCS pitched all of their games. And they didn't look good til the last inning, because as a person who was at the game, you would have seen, as I did, that FCS was up 2-0 going into the last inning and sort of fell apart in the top of the last inning. FCS made three costly errors, LETTING Forrest score three UNEARNED runs to go ahead 3-2. Then Cross hit the walk-off in the bottom of the last inning. FCS had the game the whole time and had they lost it, it would have been because of their OWN MISTAKES. I believe FCS is a better team than Forrest...

I belive Forrest also made error's that lead to the first two runs of the game. Yes, It was Shelby Stinnett's first game of the day same as Haley. Shelby did pitch all five games for Forrest. No excusses from the Forrest camp FCS won we lost. Best of luck and hope to meet again.

9. QUOTE(rhs013 @ Jun 6 2007 - 12:36 AM) 826471963Why dont you and the AD at Forrest go to said address and find out who is living there? go today! and then go to the previous address in Culleoka and see who is living there! This girl also had a sister that played at Culleoka too, did she not? did she transfer too? surely she did if the family moved to another county! Why didnt she play at Forrest??? Why wasn't she mentioned in the previous post along w/ the two younger brothers??? Hard to believe that a school that was so bent on trying to catch a certain football program that they couldnt beat some years ago in this same situation didnt cross all of their Ts and dot all of their Is. Kinda funny how things come around full circle. Hope all of this works out to be a witch hunt like it was when you were the "hunter" against this other school!

The oldest girl no longer lives with her dad. She quit playing softball last year. I dont know who she lives with now.

10. QUOTE(cascade11 @ Apr 9 2007 - 08:45 AM) 826432860I just got word that one of the Forrest players father's has passed away as a result of a heart attack. I don't want to mention her name since I haven't had it confirmed, so I'd appreciate it if someone from Chapel Hill could confirm this. Our prayers from Cascade will be with this young lady and her family and I hope ya'll will let us know if there is anything we can do to help.

Kenneth Elmore passed away yesterday. He is the father of Forrest Catcher Bre Elmore. He will be missed greatly at Forrest.

11. QUOTE(prince2 @ Apr 3 2007 - 01:06 PM) 826429001Stinnett pitched for Forrest. I remember 8 hits for LC.

Forrest had nine errors. But Lawrence co. has some good hitters. I believe Stinnettt alowed 2-3 earn runs with 8k's. Not a good game for Forrest on denfense. But we take the win and keep working. Good luck to the players and coaches at Lawrence Co. you have a very good team and best of luck the rest of the year.

12. QUOTE(cascade11 @ Mar 28 2007 - 07:06 AM) 826424607Cascade won both games of their double-header pushing their record to 6-0 on the season and 4-0 in the district. Does anyone have other scores from our district for this week? Anyone know the final score from the Forrest/Community game yesterday?

Thanks

Forrest did't play game was moved to Thursday.

13. QUOTE(cascade11 @ Feb 28 2007 - 03:10 PM) 826393488There are some on here who already have East Robertson penciled in as State Champs, so I'd say they have to be the favorite at this time. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Forrest played both Houston Co. and East Roberston last year. Both had good teams and seamed to be well coached.I believe that ER has alot of there players back this year they should be tuff. I wish all of 10A good luck this year. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

14. QUOTE(E~R Indians @ Feb 24 2007 - 12:01 PM) 826387153Your opinion? To many, the team far exceeded expectations by winning their district, coming in second in their region and making an appearance in the sectionals. Those girls had a very successful season under then 2nd year coach Kevin Evans.

The 2006/2007 team shows promise of providing an even more exciting, winning season with visions of the Spring Fling. They know that in order to achieve the state they have to play the game and win the game...one at a time. Coach Evans does an outstanding job of keeping his team focused and mentally prepared for games.

Ace, senior pitcher Chelsea Carter will take the mound and be backed by teammates consiting of one senior and eleven juniors.

I could'nt even begin to make a prediction as to how far they may go (hope to the Spring Fling), as we all know the season has just begun. There are too many games to be played and balls to be pitched before May.

I pray for a healthy and injury free season for all of the teams across the state.

ER Lady Indians

I have to pick East Robertson as one of the best teams in the state also. They came to Forrest last year in the Region Finals and they had a great team. Good luck on your season.

15. QUOTE(cascade11 @ Feb 23 2007 - 12:13 PM) 826385846Sounds like our teams stack up well from an experience standpoint. We have only one senior, two juniors, two sophmores and the rest are freshman and 8th grade. There is a ton of talent on the team, it will basically come down to how well they play together as a team. Great talent doesn't always turn out to be a great team if there is bad chemistry. From what I've seen so far watching practice everybody seems to be supporting each other and they appear to be buying into Coach Austins way of doing things. I think he's doing a good job with the girls and from what I've picked up by watching, he's a firm believer in solid defense. That happens to be the way I coach as well so I look for us to have a great year.

Shelby is a phenominal talent and as long as you guys have her on the mound, you'll do well. I look for her to play at the next level for a big program if she continues to develop. Good luck to you guys and I hope we someday have comparable facilities. Coach Austin is making that a top priority for us and I'm glad to see it.

Thanks for the kind words about me but I still have alot of work to do. I play for a great team with great players that I have played with ever since I started playing. I have alot of confidence in my pitching when I have them behind me. I believe we have great team chemistry because we know we all have a job to do.

P.S You know I have to pick Forrest to win the District. But Good luck to Cascade

Shelby #16

16. QUOTE(cascade11 @ Feb 19 2007 - 02:43 PM) 826379324I was curious how practice is going so far. Will you be the primary pitcher this year and who else do ya'll plan on pitching? We will have Kelly Wilson and Leigha Carter again this year. Practice has gone well so far, we're still figuring out exactly where everyone will play, but we should be pretty solid I think. Looking foward to seeing you and your Mom again hopefully we'll have better results against you guys this year...

We only have a few players that don't play BB. We are still focused one going back to the state in BB. I should be the primary pitcher this year. Racheal Curtis also will be pitching. We are very exited about this year.We also only have one senior and one Jr. I looked forward to playing Cascade should be a good battle. I know that your team has good talent. I would like to see two 9A teams in the State every year. I know that at Forrest we set our goals very high every year and coach Cheatham demands success. We work very hard every year.

17. I saw in Shelbyville's local paper that one of your pitchers had a perfect game against Shelbyville in a tournament last weekend. How did you do in the other games and did you place in the tournament? Just curious...

Forrest had a good weekend with wins over Shelbyville And Rhea co in pool play and a 2-1 lose to Red bank. But Forrest did win there pool before being put out by a very good Boyd Buchanan team. I believe Forrest was the only Single A school there. But the team seems to be improving and hopefully hitting on all cylinders for a run at the state tournament. Go lady Rockets and District 9a!!!!

18. Sorry if some of my info was wrong, but what i have seen of summertown, and forest, THEY LOOK WEAK TO ME!!!!!, not a state champ team, sorry just my 2 cents. i have only seen summertown play twise this year, WEAK. i also saw FCS put a wipping on forest, yes a wipping. but you never know they might have been in a slump, there coach was sure doing a lot of yelling!!!!!!!!!!!!

Forrest did take a wipping from FCS 6-1 in the Sonic Tourn. But that was Forrest's only single A loss of the year. I have to give FCS credit they have a very good team and should be a team that can win state. We have played a tough tournment schdule this year to get ready for state. Maybe it will pay off. Go Forrest lady Rockets!!!

19. I would have to agree that the MVP should come off of an undefeated (in district play) Forrest team. However, I do not agree that it has to be a senior. I was unable to see the last game against Chapel Hill, but in the two games I did see, I was most impressed with the younger pitcher on your team. I think someone said she is only an eighth grader. Your starting catcher and shortstop are also very good players. Our Ann Mullen is indeed a great ball player and can hit the ball a ton! She is still an underclassman, so she has a couple of more years to make a good impression on the voters! :D

Cascade11,

Thanks for the kind words that you have said about me. I'm Shelby Stinnett the eight grader from Forrest. You have a great team and I look foward to playing your team more. Good luck to Cascade If we dont win State I hope you Do. Go District 9A. :D

P.S Ann Mullen is a very hard out for Cascade she does hit the ball a ton .

20. Just came from the Forrest /Cascade game. The Cascade girl shows a lot of promise and hustles but she isn't on the same level as the Senior from Forrest. Casey has to be considered for the all district team and has a shot at MVP.

I have seen every Forrest game this year. The Forrest shortstop has been solid in the feild with maybe 2-3 errors all year. Great choice for District honors :thumb:

P.S: If not leading the Lady Rockets in hitting she's a very close second. :thumb:

21. 8th grader Stinnett started for the lady Rockets giving up 1 run to the lady Champions in the 1st. The Lady Rockets then scored 4 in the bottom of the 1st for a 4-1 lead. Curtis came on in relief in the top of 3rd for the lady Rockets holding the Lady Champions scoreless for the last 5 innings. The Lady Rockets added a run the the bottom of the sixth for a 5-1 win. Great job lady Rockets a big win
22. Chapel Hill appears to be solid again this year. We are looking foward to the matchup on Monday. Our girls are starting to play better. We dropped an early season game to Richland due to some untimely errors in the last inning, but the girls have recovered well from that disappointing loss. We haven't been challenged during the season with the exception of that game, so I'm interested to see how they do against some tough competition! Any Chapel Hill fans got an opinion on the game yet?

The lady rockets return all starters from last years team plus have added some great young players. They have played well this past week with a big win over Cornersville. Should be a great game but I will have to go with the Rockets Monday ;)

23. well i pick cascade to win the district...they havent defeated forrest in a really long time but i have a feeling this will be the year

they are strong with pitching and catching and in the field and at the plate they have a very good chance

When was the last time Cascade beat Forrest? Good luck to both teams should be a good game. :thumb:
