  1. Ricky Taylor (excluding Memphis) is hands down the best junior in West TN. Brennan Torstrick is certainly worth a mention along with MJ Brown. Charles Holt (Liberty) is a player as well, can stroke it, but there are quite few in Memphis, the best being Elliot Williams
  2. Adidas Nashville Celtics are having the first round of tryouts this Sunday for the 13U/7th grade team. Those interested, please contact us as tourneys start soon for this age group. Thanks and I hope everyone had a great season. coachhenderson@nashvilleceltics.com
  3. I wouldnt say it means nothing. Definitely shows that he is arguably the top player in the Class of 2007.
  4. Gerald Robinson scored 64pts in a losing effort to Memphis Kirby. He didnt play the 1st quarter but came in and got scorching hot including 7 threes. Unfortunately, his not being able to play in the first Q was too much to overcome for his MLK team as they lost by single digits. Congrats on the effort G-Rob staking claim to, as we think, being the best player in the state in 2007.
  5. Any thoughts on 2008s who will have breakout years. Charles Holt from Liberty is poised to take the next step. There are plenty of others around as well. Kevin Giltner for example. Any thoughts?
  6. Robinson is one of the best in the COUNTRY. #25 PG in the class of 2007 according to Unapproved Website. If you havent seen him, you should. Lipscomb will be tough in that district as well with Josh Slater. Hillsboro should be improved with Cameron Jordan, Westbrook and Miller. Heard that the coach wont let freshmen play varsity but if they do McMillan (very solid fresh) will really help them as well.
  7. Dont know who will win but I do know Juric is a beast. He is the #27 ranked player in the country according to Rivals. Tough to handle for anyone. That being said, without guard play, it will be tough for him. Dont know what East Ridge has. Who are the best juniors on Howard?
  8. Yeah, Slater can light it up. He is by no means a spot shooter, in fact he penetrates and scores more than anything. This past summer he lit up some of the best teams in the country (i.e. Playaz, Derek Smith All-Stars, etc.). Lipscomb got a steal with him as bigger schools came calling but he held to his word with Lipscomb. Which is refreshing these days. Charles Holt from Liberty Tech can flat out stroke it. Hit 16 threes in a 3 game stretch in the Adidas Super 64 in Vegas. He's a guy people will start to hear about this year after being in Brandon Evans shadow as a sophomore. Kevin Giltner is another who can really shoot it. Best overall though is Terrance Ogelsby. Tough to argue against him
  9. Liberty played the starters half of each game rotating the other guys in throughout the game in waves. That is why they got up big and the other teams got back in it. Nonetheless though, they got back in the games
  10. 2008 Tn isnt as strong as 2006, but there will be plenty of D-1 signees out of this class. McMasters, Jurrick, Demario Williams, Elliot Williams, Jarvis Jones, Jason Jones, Ricky Taylor, Macadoo just to name a few all have a great chance to be high major players. Then there will be plenty of MidMajors and Low majors to go along. I also wouldnt put much stock in the 16U nationals results from TN teams. Some teams dont play AAU, a lot of 16s play 17s, etc.
  11. Yes. He has a pretty long list that includes. Alabama, Louisville, Georgia, Tennessee, Mich St., Illinois, Florida, Clemson, Missouri, Florida State, Kentucky. This isnt like a lot of lists you see where the kid has gotten like 1 letter which doesnt really amount to much. He gets calls, letters, etc. from all of these.
  12. He had a pretty good camp and didnt shoot much. Way too many selfish players there at those camps. However, an Alabama assistant really liked how he played offensively and defensively noting that Mario had 12 assists in one game which is very impressive since the guys only play 50% of each game. The recruiting services mostly gravitate to those putting up the points in those camps but the coaches recognize good talent and decision-making.
  13. Where did you hear that from? Just curious. He has told me they have all but offered but nothing is quite confirmed. Yeah, Kennedy has shown he will play smaller younger guards so that could be a good situation. Missouri, Kentucky, Memphis, Cincy, Clemson, Tulane are all on him so far. He also has an offer from East Carolina which is the biggest school to offer.
  14. Anyone know of any other kids playing in these camps? I would think some Memphis kids would be in some of these, but havent heard. Any info would be good. I am not talking about the Midwest Elite Camp and those like that, just the three major shoe camps. The only ones I have heard of are: Terrance Ogelsby '07 (TN Travelers): Nike Camp Gerald Robinson '07, DeMario Williams '08 (Nashville Celtics): Adidas Superstar Camp
  15. He is a great kid. He had a real good camp. HIndered by a wrist injury early on which hurt his scoing output. All the sources I have heard say he was solid overall. He is getting a lot of high major looks so hopefully he will pull an offer.
  16. Congrats to the TN players who were selected to be a part of the NBA Players Association Top 100 Camp this week in Virginia. This is a great honor for these guys and I hope they all perform well along side the best players in the country like Kevin Love, OJ Mayo, Bill Walker, etc. Terrance Ogelsby--Bradley Central; AAU TN Travelers Antwain Wiggens--Greenville, AAU TN Travelers Gerald Robinson--MLK Magnet; AAU Nashville Celtics
  17. The War Eagles 15s are playing as well, correct? Also heard that the TN Tigers 15U team is in the field due to a pull out by someone. Any word on whether Jason Jones will be playing with the Y?
  18. Anyone got info on the 16U state, game times, schedule, etc.
