  1. No positives on the situation. And most likely he can go with a brace, but MRI scheduled and I'm not sure what all the diagnosis will be. If he does play, I'm sure he will have to battle pain. Jenkins is a tough kid though, I've met and watched him several times. Great kid. And yes I have wondered many times, such a big school, why so few people?

Oh it can be done. Just ask Will Brooks, current FB at UT Chatt. Played FB that way his Sophomore yr with his left shoulder and his junior year with his right shoulder and still got over a 1000yds rushing junior yr. for JC. Shoulder would come out during a came, he'd hit the side line for a series or two then come back in. Spent a lot of time in rehab after both surgeries. So yes it can be done, yes it is very painful (ever had your shoulder repeatedly come out of socket?), just depends on what you can stand.

Hope it works out for him and he can play the rest of the season. He's a good young man, leader, and Lord knows they need him on the line.

Highly recommend Dr Becker at Knoxville Orthopedic for the operation.

    GO BIG BLUE!!!

  2. You want to encourage their dreams but don't want to put such pressure on them that they don't enjoy the here and now.

One thing we do for our son is pray that God will lead and guide him to become the best person he can become and if he does play college football we pray that he can be a testimony to others.

Very well put. As a parent of one that just signed D-1AA, sounds like you got the right idea. Mine could have walked on a D-1A school but ya got to look at the big picture. He even considered some DII schools. One bit of advice, Get him a rivals account now if you haven't already and start sending in film. Good luck and I hope things work out for you.

  3. Ya know I went to church the other night. The guest speaker was an Iraqi "Christian" converted from Islam. He was a missionary in his own country and had started a program called RMC. Reaching Muslums for Christ. Anyway he was showing slides and telling stories of how they go (mostly invited) into the Iraqi schools and give out Bibles. They tell the students about the bible, Jesus, what it means and how to be a Christian. He asked one question that really hit home.

"We in Iraq are allowed to go into schools and give out bibles to children, answer questions, and openly pray. Tell me, in America can you do such things?" Of course we all said no. Then he said, "To bad. Ya know freedom is a wonderful thing America. Maybe you should try it sometime."

    How true!!!

  4. Will Brooks Fullback from Jefferson County High School has commited to University of Tennessee-Chattanooga on an athletic scholarship. Brooks, who had 2 consectutive 1200+yds rushing seasons, came highly recommended from not only his coaches at JC, but also a few coaches at rival schools in the east tn area for a fullback/linebacker position at UTC. I'll not mention the names to avoid any issues, but thanks for the recommendation. Way to go Will!!! Good luck at UTC!

  5. HEY WHAT WAS JC RECORD DID THEY MAKE THE PLAYOFFS SOUNDS LIKE BROOKS IS A TB NOT A FB MOST REAL FBs BLOCK& PICKUP BLITZS MORE THAN RUNNING THE BALL & MAYBE A PASS ONCE IN A WHILE GOODLUCK TO THE PATRIOTS I KNOW SOME OLD PATRIOTS (TODD COLLINS) PLAYED IN 2 & WON 1SUPER BOWL N.E. PATS/S.L. RAMS/ & MARK MOORE THAT PLAYED AT APP. STATE MARK HAS A WEB SITE CHECK IT OUT-www.Knoxvilleprepsportsnetwork.com

Brooks and Mcfall both had 1000yd+ seasons their junior years. Now another TB does not get 1000yds rushing without a FB blocking from time to time. Brooks did his fair share of blocking, blitz protection etc...this year. The vast majority of his runs were on the FB dive. Very hard to bring down. How many 6ft+, 220+lbs tail backs have you seen in HS football? Not many in these parts. Go to 'Mark's" site and watch the highlight films. And what does a team's record have to do with it? Its called an all star game. Its for the individual players.

  6. Will Brooks- Senior at Jefferson County, Fullback #46. Will has 1166yds rushing on 160 carries for a 7.30yds per carry. He also has 26 tackles as a starting middle linebacker in only 6 quarters of play. Probably the best fullback in East TN. He absolutely loves to hit. Many opposing teams had to plan their D around him this season. Very hard to stop, takes more than one to bring him down. Will carries a 3.97 GPA all honors classes. 6'1" 218lbs, max bench is 340lbs, runs a 4.8-40. Will has been praised by several opposing team coaches in person and in print, that they wish they had him on their team. Co-Captain, leader on and off the field.

  7. I'm not sore about anything.... "BOY"! It just nice to play a team that has some class and doesn't whine like DB. Bearden may have had a player get a concussion and another may have a broke leg but they're not on here ptssing and moaning about it like you wussies from DB do. As a matter of fact the white hat told our AD that this team played with the most class of any team he has seen this year. You can't seem to get over the fact that your "boys" at Queensport DB got man handled.

  8. What a game!!! JC really left all on the field tonight. Even though we came out on the short end of the stick I couldn't be more proud of this team. Bearden is a class act. No cheap shot crap, late hits, home cooking etc..like you see from DB or Campbell County. Their coaches came over to talk to our players after the game to tell them what an outstanding job they did and that they did not look forward to playing us next year. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure they are going to. Any way congrats to Bearden on the win, and hope you guys go back to state again this year.

  9. Is there a fund being set up yet to send money to? I'm not saying that money replaces a child - it doesn't - but maybe some of these families need financial assistance? Or the school or some organization may even want to establish a scholarship? Just thoughts and ideas.

If anyone can post the information on here (and hopefully the moderator will pin it at the top) I'm sure there are many who would love to do something to show our concern and love.

News cast from Knoxville said a fund to cover funeral expenses has been set up at one of the local banks. Try WBIR, WVLT or WATE web site to see the report. It may have the bank listed. If you find it please post it.
