  1. Final Score

    Notre Dame 10

    Polk County 7

Notre Dame drove the ball the length of the field and fumbled on the one yard line with the ball going out of the end zone for a touch back.

The Wildcats scored in the second half to make it 7-0.

With around 2:30 left in the first half the rain started pouring and the lightning bouncing. It was a great atmosphere for these young men to witness. At the start of half time the decision was made for a 30 min weather delay which tore the Cats momentum all to pieces.

The second half started rough for the Cats but a bat down by Tanner Davis on fourth down was what the Wildcats needed. The Cats couldn't do anything with it. Notre Dame then got it and threw a 29 yd pass to wide open #11 on the 5 yard line. The Irish then were on the board. P.C. 7 N.D. 7

Late in the fourth the Cats made a big defensive stand and got the ball back with roughly 2:30 left in the game. Polk failed on three straight passes and was forced to punt with just a little over 1 minute left in the game when a bad snap happened and the ball was tipped and recovered by Sam Eberle on the Irish 15 yd line. The Irish was stopped by the Cats and the field goal team rushed onto the field with just over 24 seconds left, when #6 for the Irish booted the field goal through with 5.2 seconds left on the clock.

Congratulations to Notre Dame on their 8-2 season and Congratulations to Polk County on finishing 7-3 and reaching the play-offs for the 6th consecutive year.

I am going to be unable to travel with the Wildcats to it looks to be Station Camp next Friday due to illness in the family so best to luck Cats!!!

First before ending notes I would like to Congratulate the Wildcat Seniors on their great effort and Willie Ledford for scoring 15 touchdowns in the regular season, Tyler Davis for finishing the year on I believe 22 receptions and 3 td's. It's been one heck of a year and I can't wait to see Haden Browder out there next year. Congrats

But this all has to come to an end somewhere and thats with TheEmpire signing off till next football season......... GOD BLESS EVERYONE and I can't wait till next fall.

    Mr. Richts

GO POLK.... Keep the WINNING TRADITION ROLLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. I'm going to pack my rain gear and blankets, this could be as interesting for the folks in the stands as those guys on the field....Can anyone tell me how the visitors side seats are in this new modern complex?

Larry G. Davis Stadium is one of the finest in East Tennessee. It holds i'd say anywhere from 2200 to 2600 people, I'm gonna say 750-1200 visitors seats and the rest Wildcats Nation seats, or should I say Red Nation seats and also they have added two portable bleachers for the RED NATION in the north endzone which makes it loud.

The view of the mountain is gorgeous which you will see tonight I just wished it wasn't raining. The parking is good if you get there around 615-645 and then you have to park in grass (mud tonight). With the weather permitting i'm predicting a crowd of over 2600 people there tonight for this Region battle.

    Go Polk

  3. Mr. Richts Cadillac Game Changers of the Game are...

For Polk- William Ledford... 5 td's v.s. the Chargers last game and he has carried this team.

For N.D.- Eberle #38- Great all around player and a great weapon.

For Polk- Tyler Davis... Great receiver and I look for Coach Davis to go to him more this game so the Cats can spread the field

For N.D.- The offense... If their offense can move the ball on the Cats and keep the clock on their side.... N.D. has this one

    My predictions...

    Polk 14

    Notre Dame 10

  4. I'd be especially intersted in your take, being a Meigs fan, except that the ND you guys saw is a completely different team than the current ND bunch. I understand all three squads have improved, but ND in week 3 was looking for an identity, and a runnng game. They have since found that, and a nice passing game to compliment it. Polk I anticipate will be big and strong and try to run right up the gut. ND will do the same, and will throw the ball all over the place.

As for home field advantage - as long as the game is called fairly, not sure that is that big an issue. ND is 10-0 on opponents homecoming games in the last 10 games so clearly not traumatized by crowds - they appear to enjoy the challenge. Plus, ND travels extremely well, crowdwise.

I look for Coach Wiggins to put the total package into place, including the wishbone, and passing packages, with Chris Harr lining up as a receiver, into place, so who knows what to expect. Just like last year, if Polk can control the ball and eat up the clock, they will have the advantage, but if ND can run their multiple offense and score off of it, it might be a track meet, which benefits ND.

Larry G. Davis Complex will be full this Friday when the Irish come to town. Polk fans filled Centrals visitors side up last Friday and with this the battle for 2nd place and for a home field in playoffs I can assure you the Wildcat Nation will be there along with the rowdy RED NATION. WRCB-TV will also be there for Channel 3 game of the week.

  5. Also for you Central fans that want to say our Tail gate party wasnt class.. What about your coaches and the whole team running at us when we were rushing the field. I mean you shoud've let us because like my buddy Ryan's shirt says "Party on Centrals field cause we own it" 7 in a roll. I'll tell you it was a SOR LOSER performance when you see a whole team and their coaches running at students celebrating, but I guess it was because we were fixing to plant the flag right in the middle of the ugly C in the middle of the field.

and for you Central students..... Where were you all???? I was waiting on you the whole game because trust me, it would've been the last time you messed with Polk County. and we enjoyed doing your scoreboard chant after the game, i'm so sorry yall missed out on it.

    POLK COUNTY!!!!

Hey pal, don't worry bout that, but I came by and talked to you'll and it was a great party. The Red Nation was great and if anyone on here knows where I can get on let me know ASAP.

I said its great, to be, a POLK COUNTY CAT.

  6. fair enough, but i cant promise you anything because the students are wild and they wont be stopped you can only hope to contain....

You go on and bring yalls little cocky @$$es over there but you might want to get your little principal to get a couple extra police officers becuase I dont care how old I am nor you, I will knock the he// out of you. TRUST ME I'M NOT THE ONE TO MESS with when it comes down to my tampon color. lol cya at 730 when polk spanks yall

  7. ding ding ding. I have a new sponser, TIme for Mr. Richts Cadillac Game Changers of the week

for polk, Tyler Davis, great reciever and db

for central, whether their ready to play

for polk, Cain, if he gets the cats ready to play they'll kill central

    for central. who cares

for polk, HADEN BROWDER, was 1-2 last week with 53 yds and a TD.

    POLK 56

    CENTRAL 0

  8. The "REASON" the cops had to come to Polks sideline was because the referees told them to because one of Polks "fans" was acting like an idiot. Central students won't sit in your bleachers they will sit on the track in front of your bleachers.

Ya, i'll be there but considering im not under 18 i cant kick some @$$. But i guarantee my Wildcats will. Just Like ol Eric Ainge. I GUARANTEE a win!!!

So go on and bring your little retarded students over there cause i'll have a rude awakening for them. Also if any Central authority gets on here. you might wan2 keep your immature students on there side and get some extra police men cause i will take care of them on our side.

POLK WINS IN A BLOW OUT AND RUDE FASION. RUN THAT SCORE UP COACH!!!

  9. What are ya'll going to say next week if Central beats Polk? Bad Officials?

    ;)

Here ya go Yeehaw and all you other Charger fans who think you all got a chance against us.

Over the past 5 years Polk has scored 171 points v.s. the Chargers and the Chargers have scored a whoaping 21 points. Here are the scores from years past

    year Polk Central

    2001 49 9

    2002 21 0

    2003 32 12

    2004 28 0

    2005 41 0

    my prediction on 2006

    2006 56 0

    DECADE OF DOMINATION

and in 2000 the WILDCATS one also, I just couldn't find the score. I think it was 23-15. not sure tho

  10. You have got to be kidding! "Limp" away from Central? We never know?

Good grief, get a grip! Central IS a doormat for the good teams of this region. Has been and will continue to be. Didn't you all lose to Sequoyah? I can already hear Coach Derrick's excuses after Polk destroys the baby blue: "We're young; We're rebuilding; We're improving; Blah, blah, blah"

Don't forget, "we've also got a few injuries keeping Jackson and Harrison out of the game. lol."

Polk will score at will. I hope The real Coach Derrick (Davis) runs the score up on them just because they will run the score up on basketball except for this year.

So Coach Davis, if you read this, everyone in the community wants to see 60+ points!!!!

  11. Well i agree this will be a setback but this team will adjust and do well. They have a great Kicker/punter and other backup players to fill in. They need to tune up their offense the next two games to get ready for Notre Dame and the playoffs.

    Polk 42

    Seq. 14

Yes they do, and the offense will come around, but guys I am going to be unable to be there Friday night but my spirits will be. The job is taking a trip to Nashville to do some stupid stuff. But Wildcats... GO GET AFTER THEM CHIEFS.

I'll have my Pontiac Game Changers up tonight. Well gotta get back to work to finish before the boss man gets here.

    Go Polk :thumb:

  12. Region 3-3A:

    1.) Meigs Co.: 7-0 (6-0): beat ND & Polk

    2.) Notre Dame: 5-2 (4-1): beat Howard

    3.) Howard: 5-2 (4-1): beat Polk

    4.) Polk Co.: 5-2 (3-2)

    5.) Sequoyah: 2-5 (2-3)

    6.) East Ridge: 2-6 (2-4)

    7.) McMinn Central: 2-5 (1-4)

    8.) Grundy Co.: 2-5 (1-4)

    9.) Tellico Plains: 2-6 (1-5)

Meigs Co. is the one team in 3A that I have to say is rolling under the radar unnoticed by most voters. They have have a great shot to really put a wrap on the region title this week against Howard. Notre Dame should get another win and put themselves in the playoffs this week against Tellico Plains. The final playoff spot from this region is at stake this week as suprising Sequoyah plays an always tough Polk Co. bunch.

    Region 4-3A:

1.) Station Camp: 8-0 (4-0): beat Sycamore, Greenbrier, & Macon Co.

2.) Pearl Cohn: 5-3 (3-1): beat Sycamore & Macon Co.

3.) White House: 4-3 (2-1): beat Sycamore & Pearl Cohn

4.) Macon Co.: 3-4 (1-2): beat White House

    4.) Greenbrier: 3-4 (1-2)

    6.) Sycamore: 5-3 (1-3): beat Greenbrier

    7.) DeKalb Co.: 1-6 (0-3)

Station Camp has garnered the respect of the voters as they are receiving some first place recognition. They are idle this week after locking up a playoff spot this past week. White House is a team that can get close to doing that very same thing this week against region doormat DeKalb Co. Greenbrier hosts Pearl Cohn in a game that they need to keep their playoff hopes alive. In an "elimination game" Sycamore travels to Macon Co.

So if this is how it plays out... Polk will travel to Station Camp????
