  1. Although this sounds good, I would hold on this thought until something out there officially confirms this situation. It's speculation as of now, until there is real proof. I personally haven't heard anything yet.
  2. The only thing that I worry about is the fact that if they hire Crawford or even tab an assistant as the interim head coach....where is Cleveland going to get an offensive coordinator.
  3. Cleveland did not name a head coach today. From what I've heard, Cleveland offered the coaching position to Crawford, but he has yet to make a decision. I would expect information getting out early next week. Crawford could definately bring Cleveland back to the level they should be at; hopefully we get him.
  4. I have not heard anything today about them naming a coach. Earlier in the week, though, I heard that they were making a hard push to tab a coach by this Friday, so it definately could be possible.
  5. Cleveland has a strong, blue collar senior class that will fill 10 key positions. They all have much experience, and so do the underclassmen. I believe if they do not have spring practice they won't be that bad off, the only place they would be lacking is learning the new coaching scheme.
  6. Cleveland has a pretty good squad this year, and as mentioned before they are indeed ranked 17th in the nation by ESPN. I've been impressed with freshmen Rocha at McCallie; he was a great player at Cleveland Middle School before he transferred to play for the Tornadoes this past year.
  7. I wouldn't say that Cleveland has been a big surprise. They brought back alot of talent this year and we knew we'd have a pretty good squad at the high school this year.
  8. I've talked to a few people heavily involved at CHS and they say that the Central Office is working hard to name a coach and that it may happen as soon as the End of this Week. I would definately be watching for something to come out towards the end of the week. If not the head coach, at least who the candidates are.
  9. Yes, I already mentioned Cleveland will be looking for a new principal here soon because Rockholt is planning to retire soon. The superintendent, Mr. Dennings is also getting up in his years, so he could likely retire within the next few years. The principal and former AD have nothing to do with picking this coach, from what I heard the men high up in the Cleveland City Schools Central Office are conducting the search.
  10. Sounds like a good coach, but I haven't heard about him being the mix for the head coaching position.
  11. From what I've heard that rumor is true, and that the middle TN coach I posted about earlier is the head coach of Brentwood. I've also heard that E.K. Slaughter of Soddy Daisy applied for the coaching position as well.
  12. After snooping around to get a name of the middle TN coach I posted about last week.....I have heard from sources, today, that Ron Crawford is definately in the mix for the head coaching position. Alot of people believe he is the leading candidate that Cleveland wants.
  13. I believe that Coach Wilson resigned himself. It stated in the TimesFreePress that Girl's Basketball is very close to his heart, even more than football. I believe that his heart was just not into coaching football anymore and he resigned to do what is best for the team. I just wish he would have done it right after football season. Wilson definately knew about the South Pittsburg opening and was definately ready to jump ships at the idea of returning to the place where he started coaching and won 2 State Championships.
  14. On a side note, Coach Wilson ended speculations over the weekend and made it official that he is returning to South Pittsburg as the Head Coach of the Girls Basketball Team and an Assistant Coach for the Football Team.
  15. The coach from Rhea County is definately somebody that I've got interest in. I agree with clevelandblueraiderfan; Cleveland needs a coach that is tough and can teach discipline, one of the biggest dissapointments (especially last year) was that Cleveland had so much talent, but NO DISCIPLINE! I can remember several games with multiple Personal Fouls and so forth.....The Walker Valley game is the summary of Cleveland's discipline. They need a coach that can control all of his players and motivate them to succeed.
  16. Yes, it was planned before Wilson's resignation. I've heard that Cogdill's wife is battling a disease, so I'm sure that is what led him to that decision. Cleveland's Principal, Chuck Rockholt, has plans to likely retire this year as well. For Cleveland it looks like next year will be a totally different picture with the administration and football program. If the right moves are made, I could see this being a very positive thing for the Blue Raiders especially after a year with less-than-stellar performances in their big sports.
  17. Ha....Rankin has been out of the mix for a while, and even then it was a very optimistic push. Not for sure who the middle TN coach is, but I've heard that they might push for Vic Grider, South Pitt's Head Coach. Rumors also have it that Charlie Cogdill, Cleveland's AD, announced that he was retiring today.
  18. I have also heard that there is a good chance that the Blue Raiders will not take the field this spring. I've heard that whether they do or don't will depend on whether the new coach wants to schedule it or not.....and of course before that happens they have to hire a Coach FIRST.
  19. I've heard from sources that Rankin is out of the picture; some coach from middle TN is one of the favorites though.
  20. I believe that Cleveland better higher a very good candidate, otherwise, Cleveland Football could end up in a slump for 3-4 years. You would see a handfull of transfers of the younger key players if they don't get a good coach. Definately would not want to see this happen.
  21. I don't see Cleveland getting Rankin, they missed out on that opportunity when they chose Wilson over him 4 years back.
  22. It would be a bad move especially if Cleveland get's a great catch when they make the hire for football. Who are the players that are looking to transfer? What grade are they in?
  23. Are these frosh? Any key players from Cleveland would not be able to make a difference at WV, next season, unless they actually move to the county.
  24. I agree. he has definately helped us out this past season, although he wasnt used as much as people would have liked to seen. Hopefully he will play at the next level, Coach wilson said in the paper that there were some Ivy League Schools wanting a senior, so I guess that would be Scotten since Tipton has already committed to AFA.
  25. Lacklust? The boy has a 4.0 GPA, Not for sure who is recruiting him, but he's been a vital asset this year.
