  1. Is this a rebuilding year for SC? Over the last 2 years I would have given them a big chance to beat the Wave. Two year's ago IMHO the were the best team in the county.

    :flower:

I see this game getting closer inpoints in the near future. SC is going to get better and will be the school of choice in the future. There area is going to contin to grow. Where as Gallatin is on the decline. If SC can get a few of the skill players Gallatin counts on out of the Blythe st area then the Wave will be in trouble.

If Gallatin is on the decline as you say, why would Station Camp need players from there. IMHO Station Camp has never been the best team in Sumner County football. They were playing in a smaller class (3A), against much smaller schools as they already had an enrollment over 1000 which was much larger than the normal 700-800 in class 3A. I think we are seeing the difference in classes. By the way, SC started 17 seniors out of 22 positions, and Gallatin started 10 seniors last night. What area do you think SC will make up the most ground in the near future?

I have no idea whether or not Gallatin is on the decline, I'll not participate in that debate. I will say SC won't need to find skill players from other areas to compete in the future. That school is in a growing area, in time, they'll be fine. Now, I don't know how many seniors started for SC the other night, but I do know several start both on offense and defense. I also know that most are first year starters, as it's widely known that SC had to replace ALL 11 starters on offense.

I do take issue with the statement that SC was not the best team in the county two years ago. They beat Beech AND Hendersonville, so I think it's at least open to debate.

  2. YEA HAMBLEN IS A GOOD HIGH SCHOOL PLAYER. HES ONE OF THE FEW PLAYERS THAT I HAVE HEARD OF ON SC'S TEAMS OF THE PAST. #1 FOR STATION CAMP WAS VERY IMPRESSIVE. 6 FT 2 230 IS WHAT I HEARD HE WAS. GOOD POTENTIAL AND GOOD SIZE TO PLAY IN COLLEGE. NOT SURE WHAT GRADE HE IS IN.

SC HAS SOME QUALITY PLAYERS BUT I DONT THINK THEY ARE A DANGEROUS TEAM LIKE THEY WERE THE LAST FEW YEARS. ON THE OTHER HAND WHITE HOUSE JUST SEEMS TO RELOAD WITH TALENT. WHITE HOUSE HAS ALOT OF GOOD YOUNG TALENT TO GO ALONG WITH SOME VERY GOOD SENIOR PLAYERS. I DONT THINK MANY TEAMS WILL WANT TO PLAY WHITE HOUSE AS THE SEASON GOES ON ESPECIALLY IF WHAT EVER HAPPENED LAST WEEK IS LEARNED FROM.

SOMETIMES COACHES HAVE TO REMIND THE PLAYERS OF WHOS IN CONTROL. JUST LEARN FROM THE LESSON AND MOVE ON.

#1 for SC is a senior, Daryl Eubanks, excellent football player. Has a nose for the game, but he's nowhere near 230. 190 maybe, but plays bigger. He's a track kid too.

SC is an extremely well coached team against an extremely upgraded schedule. I wasn't sure what this year would bring, but I've learned not to count the Bison out until the fat lady is singing.

  3. I won't pretend like i know much about football, cause i dont, but i do know that the game tonight was a load of crap. Not just on station camp but on white house too. We had a player injured, and all of the white house players played there hardest. But as the game was ending Station camp started cheering... Whos house, our house, on our field. Thats just low. Some of you idiots are calling white house unsportsman like, but if you want to see a team that is doesn't have any sportsman ship, look at station camp. :D

Goodness... how bitter. Nothing different from last year, when WH won a squeaker at SC, the chanting from the WH stands. So, youngster, leave Mom's computer alone and go back to watching Hannah Montana or something.

    Now, my reflections.

    1. Whoever WH's quarterback was did an excellent job for a non-starter. He had a perfect pass in the endzone in the final seconds that would have been the game winning touchdown 99 times out of 100, but the DB from Station Camp made an outstanding play and batted the ball away.

    2. The Wildcat package WH ran in the second half was something else. THAT kid is a good back.

    3. I think SC had guts to go for it on 4th and goal from the two in the fourth quarter. We debated it in the stands, and that's a call I wouldn't want to make. The celebration penalty after the touchdown was a poor call that could have cost SC the game.

    4. I've seen tempers flare several times in the history of this matchup, but I thought both teams showed composure and good sportsmanship all around.

    5. The show the band and the choirs did before the game gave me chills. Good job, all.

    6. I cringe every time I see someone injured, and I felt like running across the field and hugging the young man who hurt his ankle. Remember, folks, these are our children.

  4. Steel Throwers Club Out Of Franklin is a good one. Jim Brown heads that up.

Website was down for a bit but it should be back up soon.

Thanks, I'll do that. I'm at work, and they have a blanket block policy on websites and that one for some reason is on the list. I appreciate your help.

  5. You read a lot of stuff on here about what coaches can do, or what coaches do not do to help a kid get a scholarship, in football, or any other sport. How much does a coach help in that respect? Do coaches actively pursue colleges, or do you just wait for colleges to inquire about a certain player? What advice would you give a player who wants to play on another level? How should a player approach a coach about playing on another level?

I'm not asking you to identify yourself or speak about specific players. Thanks for any input.

  6. Apology accepted. Thanks for the well wishes. I also look forward to seeing some good local high school football again next year. I'd like to see Richie do well kicking for you guys. He will get offers for sure.

I was reading from top to bottom, and I sure thought it odd someone was going after bison4 for bashing a kid. If anything, he'd go after someone who DID bash a kid.

Frankly, I was shocked Yazzie only got a small school offer. I didn't necessarily think he was SEC material, but he's a mid major guy, at least. I think some larger schools missed the boat on him. He was the best player I saw all season.

Now, as far as the pecking order for next year, was Hendersonville not hit hard by graduation? Not that I'm arguing the prediction, I really don't know. Someone fill me in on Hendersonville, Gallatin, Beech, and the Wilson County schools.

  7. What a GREAT deal for the fans, players and other coaches at SCHS!! I'm thrilled Coach Bever is on board. I hated learning years ago that he had even taken the Portland job, because the talent level was down even then, and everyone knew it wasn't going to get any better. I feared they'd run him off because the fans there have way, way unrealistic ideas on how good they can be. He is a fine man, a good Christian, family man. Portland's loss is SC's gain. Is someone leaving the SC staff to create this opening, or did Coach Holly just make a dang good hire and then worry about a spot later on?

  8. How much time did all those you mention spend on the sidelines? Do you even know? You obviosly didn't watch the game cuz boone wasn't lined up against him! Most of the boys on our line play both sides of the ball coming out only for special teams! Yeah, think how we'd cram it down YOUR THROATS if they had a chance to catch their breath and stay fresh! I know for a fact that at the end of the game the player lined up against Hood was still shoving it down his throat and ready keep playing!! Three of those from White House on the All-Region team were counted on to stay in the game, ALL GAME, AND THEY DID!! AND DID THEIR JOBS! SO PUT THAT IN YOUR PIE-HOLE AND STICK TO WHAT YOU THINK YOU KNOW. BTW since when is winning by one TD ramming down our throats?! All the points in 1st half we gave to Catholic.

I think Old Jock needs to call a Waaahhhhmbulance!

  9. HEY MARQUIS, YOU OBVIOUSLY ARE NOT A WHITE HOUSE FAN SO WHY DON'T YOU GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, PREFERABLY THE ROCK YOU CRAWLED OUT FROM UNDER AND LEAVE THE GOOD, KIND CITIZENS OF WHITE HOUSE ALONE? PLEASE, DON'T RESPOND. JUST DO IT ALREADY! YOU KNOW, DON'T GO AWAY MAD, JUST GO AWAY!!

Hey, Old Jock, who'd you get to write that snappy response for you?

Seriously, lighten up! I have no beef with the "good, kind citizens of White House", but I think it's quite funny that the WH people on this board spent the entire pre-season, AND regular season bragging about the state title to-be, and now that it didn't work out, the same people whine about this and whine about that.

White House had a good team this past year. Final Four is quite an accomplishment! Why can't people there just accept that? Plus, any WH topic on this board is going to be subject to non-WH fans because of the arrogance of most of the WH posters. Honestly folks, not EVERY WH player is an all-state, major college prospect and bound for NFL glory.

Be proud of your team. Toot your horn a little bit after a big win, or a big season. I'm sure those are pretty good boys on that sideline. They should be proud of a good season. But be able to take some sarcastic remarks if your fans are going to bash every team on the schedule and run their mouths about being such a football factory all the time. If you can dish it out, you'd better be able to take it.

  10. he is not all region which means that the coaches that coach against his team were not impressed with him at all. you can be all state but not all region. those all state and mr football ballots are usually filled out by people in the media who coaches select because they simply choose not to waste their time doing it. with that in mind people look at boone and see a 300+ lbs. preseason pick and say "let's name him mr. football" without even having a clue as to what they are doing. as far as region 4 coaches are concerned blaine boone was 2nd team not so good this past season. he was just a fat mess to those guys plain and simple!

Here now, as a parent of a high school football player, I think you need to re-think what you are spouting off about a kid being a "fat mess". This is a CHILD you are talking about. He might be 300+, but that doesn't mean he's a man. You sit behind your keyboard and make comments about CHILDREN, and say something so hurtful. I can't believe this comment has stayed up on the board this long.

I'm not a White House booster. I don't think I've EVER wanted WH to win a football game, but I have to defend this kid who you choose to call names. Folks, cheer for your team, write good things about children, single them out for doing good things, but never single one out for a bad play, or for someone's size, or lack of size. They're kids.

  11. Well, is Polk primarily a passing team, running team, what? That region hasn't been very tough in the first round of the playoffs in the past few years, but I saw they had three teams in the top 11 in the rankings last week, so they obviously are a very tough region this year. Polk was 11th in the rankings and SC wasn't ranked, so other than having to go on the road, I'd assume Polk would be a favorite. No?

  12. PARKER FLAT OUT DRILLED TOPE ON THE LAST STATION CAMP DRIVE. I BELIEVE PARKER JUST MIGHT BE A HITTER. AND WHY WAS THEIR A PENALTY ON THAT PLAY?

It wasn't for the hit. It appeared to me he stood over him and was jawing a little bit, if it's the same hit I'm thinking about.

I was surprised there wasn't more jawing going on than there was. I was expecting some "chippiness", but didn't see any. Proud of both teams for that.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a rematch, however, the region we play in the first and second rounds of the playoffs aren't the cupcakes they usually are. There are a couple of pretty good teams down there this year.

It was a great game last night. I'm sorry it ended on a mistake instead of a great play, although Reed did an outstanding job of scooping up the ball and heading for the endzone.

  13. That won't matter. Under normal circumstances, the POY usually is a member of the region champ team, but I think this year is an exception. Poteete will be POY, Greenwade from WH or Johnson from SC will be first team QB. Ziegler from Greenbrier, Tope from SC and one of the WH backs will fill the backfield. SC's kicker, Reed, is another easy pick. Linemen are a tougher call, most of the really good ones play both ways. I'd think DeKalb's receivers will get a lot of love too.

  14. If Trox throws the ball like he did last night, I'd say White House alone could score 34 points.

Not knocking your QB, I've seen him before and he's a heck of a QB. But, there's a difference between DeKalb's defense and SC's defense.

I can't help but think it'll be a low scoring game though. Both teams have built their records on defense. I see a 16-12 type of game regardless of who wins.

  15. I'd think even the loser of this one will have home field advantage, in the first round at least. SC gets Pearl Cohn and White House has Greenbrier, so I doubt either will lose the week after next.

The guy at DeKalb County will get Coach of the Year in this region, but Coach Holly at SC deserves some consideration too. With the graduation hitting as hard as it did last year, I didn't think The Bison would EVEN be in the conversation about a region championship.

  16. Here is the region after the season. 1. White House 2. Dekalb 3. Macon 4. Station Camp. Yea, I said it. Macon will win out, except for Dekalb.

I want some of whatever this guy (or girl) is smoking. I can see the argument for White House finishing first, but the rest of this? Are you serious? SC already thumped DeKalb, AT DeKalb, I don't see them finishing below second, if not first...
