  1. We are real. Have been for over 20 years.

Blake is very good. Good kid, too. We would love to have him provided he doesn't play football in high school. If he does, I'm sure he'll do very well. He is a very good athlete.

    Gomer,

Not saying your lying but you do have at least one football player on the 14 team and he is a quarterback from SE TN.

  2. The TN HOOPSTARS will be holding a tryout for their 14U/8th grade boys AAU team. The tryout will take place on the 7th of Feb at the Ocoee Middle school (Cleveland) gym from 1-3. The Hoopstars are entering their 9th year of AAU play and last year, the Hoopstars 16U girls team was state Div 2 champs.

  4. If Lambert, Jordan, Davis, Simbeck, McNutt, Purkey, Williams, and Lee are healthy they should win the state; all have big game experience, talent, and desire. Only question is team unity and chemistry!

Polk County will be 2nd as long as Allen gets more looks inside, German is a given, Wilson and Rogers must also contribute more!

    Brainerd 3rd!

    Tellico 4th!

  5. TN Hoopstars beat Memphis Flight to win the 16U div 2 State title. Team is made up of 5 players from McMinn Central, 2 players from Walker Valley, 2 players from Polk County, and 1 player from Bradley, all schools are within 20 miles of each other.

Great tournament ladies, looking forward to the Nationals!

  6. First let me say this, my daughters team was put out in the regions so we went to see the Central game because she has some friends there, I don't have a horse in the race.

I know that officiating was not great either way but at one point in the 2nd quarter it was 7 team fouls to 8 team fouls, thus at that point officials were not to biased either way, I saw some missed for both teams.

I also saw both of the non calls where #22 for Central got kicked in the mouth while on the floor, the York player should have been called for that, then in the 4th quarter during a scramble for a loose ball Yorks# 10 did punch Central # 20 in the mouth, it should have been a T, neither action was called, both of these occured directly in front of me.

I'm equally sure that central got away with some fouls too.

But the game was decided by the fact that Central played 9 (while the game was still not decided) very good bball players, while York played only 5 very good bball players. If York had a bench they probably would not have fouled anyone out.

You are not going to win in a state tourney with only 5 players, unless they are of exceptional talent and size, there were no exceptional players on either side but there were many very good players, Central just had more.

York has nothing to be ashamed of they fought to the end with only 5 players.

  7. Don't have a horse in the race, however if you don't like traveling to someone elses gym, or you don't like their gym, WIN your region and you can stay home.

I get to see Central some and I will say I believe that they have the talent to win the state, and if the coach would occasionally change from the man D to a zone when the situation required he would not be beat.
