  1. Like the locker room stuff. Thanks. By the way. Bo wasn't thee last year either. :P

Marshall County. The place everybody takes their trash to!

Old man giles....what does taking trash have to do with high school children playing football on Friday night? Are you calling the children ...trash???

People who run their mouths often eat their words. :o:shock:

  2. i think lipscomb is perfect in DI. Why? The Mustangs bring great competition. It's always a big game when your school has to play them.it's unfair to attack them because they arent in DII with a lot of the other private schools. The difference between private schools in DII and private schools in DI is that DII schools offer financial aid.Lipscomb is perfect right where they are. Otherwise, Region 5 would have been pretty boring over the last 3-4 years.

Congrats to the Mustangs. Glad to see yall controlled MC like you did. It should be an interesting game next week when Marshall County plays at Giles County. I think Lipscomb proved that MC wasn't as good as they were made out to be.

    Go screw your self.

  3. This contest's version of 'Marcus Rich's Weekly Game Notes' are now uploaded onto the Cheatham County Cubs Football Fan Page. You can view them by clicking on the link titled 'Cubs Friday Night' under the Main Menu.

Hope everyone has a safe trip up the interstate from Lewisburg on Friday evening. If you aren't able to make it you can listen to the game on WQSV by clicking on the link titled 'Cubs Radio Network" on the fan page. Pregame will go on the air at 7:10PM and kickoff is slated for 7:30PM.

NOTE: There will be a "Chili Supper" at the CCCHS parking lot on Friday evening and it is schedule to begin at 5:00PM. I know that will certainly be sounding nice on Friday when the weather drops into the mid-50's. Autumn has officially arrived and I LOVE IT!!!!

Thanks!! we love us some CHILI!!

  4. As I can read, I see GC fans noticed it , too. and in twenty years if Kum Ba Ya is supposed to be sung, then you are exactly right!

I don't know if I will be here in twenty years to find out. But, I believe in being fair.

I believe that you can't stand the fact that MC does not knock any other team. I think all the teams we have played have been very determined, disciplined, and the teams are loaded with talent. That says alot for middle Tennessee.

(sorry to hurt your feelings and not bite back, but that is how we roll)

I don't care if soccer invented the "knee" or if bowling did. But, it shows alot of respect when teams abide by it. But, By the way, I know for a fact that it was done in the early 80's when MC won state. (that was 20 yrs ago) Thank You

  5. I am a GC fan, and would like to apologize for the few fans who showed less of what GC fans really are. I for one am proud of all players on any team-it takes time, determination and dedication to play any sport in high school now and none of them need to be taunted while playing a game.

I think it takes alot of work even for the team that is in last place. It is not easy to go to school, play sports, and work part time. (which most kids do).

But, on any of these sites have you ever seen MC fans say we are going to do this or that? We do not bad mouth our opponents we take them as they come. IMO MC has come along way from 3 and7 last year. We do not concern ourselves with the teams we are playing, the boys go on the field give 100% and leave it on the field.

I don't know why the ref's and (quote): Giles County or any other county would hate us. During rough times these boys were in diapers or in youth football.

Come on ref's and opponents these boys deserve your respect and your fairness. The team is different, the coaches are different, and so is the administration. Give us a break! The next time you see one of MC football players pat them on the back. They have paid the price!

  6. Nope not a dog at him. Sorry if it came across that way. Just hope he's good at shaking hands and kissing babies.

And Kissing Administration Butt!!! Including Mrs. Principal!! If he is not good at that, it doesn't matter how good he is with the boys. He'll be gone in 2,too! :thumb:

  7. Yeah, I know the WHOLE story behind the petition....since I was a player! And, not that this matters, but it was a SOPHOMORE that started that petition. So are you sure it was the upperclassmen doing the pressuring? And a little more info on that subject......I was in the Jack Keny building the day John David Pierce came down and allowed the players to voice their concerns to him personally or in small groups...... He was there for a while :D

Yes, he was crazy and losing control of things. We (the football team) got screwed royally that year. A very talented, hungry team was ruined by Mac's infighting with the staff, particularly Coach Tharp, who was brought in to be the offensive coordinator, but was denied the power to do what he wanted. The result was disastrous. We didn't know what kind of offense we were.......something different every week. I'm still surprised we beat Lexington, even though they were highly overrated.

FYI: Coach Johnson didn't resign b/c of what he did at Stratford. I hope to goodness that's not what you've been led to believe......

What did he do so bad at stratford? how come the negative stuff comes out when ur losing? Why did he resign or get fired?? Enquiring minds want to know.

  8. Naw........can't do it to the kids. Johnson's scheme is mostly a zone blocking scheme which requires A LOT of work and practice in order to do it right. When done right, lots of success (i.e. last year when Gower threw for a zillion yards and Hightower rushed for over 1000 yards the last HALF of the season) There just wasn't that cohesiveness on this year's Oline like there was last year (2005). So that's why I think the blame goes on the line as a whole and the Oline coach, not neccessarily on any individual(s).

It was so successful last year , i believe we made it ONE round farther, than this year. so yeah , i see your point. :P I think defense had its share of hard times.

  9. BigCountry, you made a pretty fair assessment of this situation, as far as the returning players and needing to get a coach in go. (I don't really have any knowledge on who the next coach will be, so I guess we'll have to trust you :P )

Of the many, many, MANY problems this team and program had this year, one of the biggest was the unbelievably poor offensive line. This was a group who had lost only 2 starters from the 2005 team (Locke and Perry).

I'm not going to say anything about any one player, but as a unit it was unbelievable how bad they were.

I guess one of the biggest if not the biggest factor in this was the loss of the offensive line coach from the 2005 season, who was an OUTSTANDING coach. Apparently the coach who handled the OLine this year was a pretty poor coach, considering the experience and size returning to the line. And, as probably everyone on here knows, that coach is no longer employed by the Marshall County school system...............

So looking at next year's team, that may be one of the biggest challenges the new coach has.

Come on eagle fan--man up---call a name.....call two or three names...

  10. I am from l'burg- born and bred.:) I would like to know how does everyone know what is going on except for the players. the most important part of the program. As most of you know the team can make it or break it. if one player was off this season the whole team was off. one team- one heartbeat. the coach never plays on the field. he stands on the sideline right behind the refs and in front of the many proud parents ( that is about all that comes to the games anymore). I know that they are not mature enough to know what is best for them. but I do think they should at least be the FIRST to know who the coach will be. in a year or two they will be gone- but most have little brothers, cousins, and someday their own children, so yes I do think they should have a say. :)
