  1. EXACTLY! We DO have two divisions, so the issue of where and how these schools get their players is totally irrelevant, has been beaten to death for years by haters like you, and totally inappropriate for the blog topic at hand. There is a time and place for everything, and a site about the 2AA championship game is NOT the place to drag this up. Your initial comment was unseemly, rude, unsportsmanlike and totally out of place. I'm sure there's a ongoing endless "public vs private" blog somewhere where your comments will be welcome and win you friends. Go there and stay off the D2 site if your have any decency. BTW, it wouldn't be proper to go to the 6A championship site right now and bring up "open zoning" either. Get the point?

I wish he would get the point but I think he would rather be rude and just flame. You know I have never seen a D2 fan go to another site and be rude to them. We get up for our rivalies but for the most part we are respectful of other schools. People like hogan will never get it. Like oldwiseone said....I am proud of how our fans have conducted themselves on this thread.

  2. After the game was not decided until seconds left last year and a Baylor win earlier in the year...I don't think anyone saw this coming. Congratulations to Ensworth. No excuses from this Baylor fan....Ensworth is the best team hands down in the state. Just a powerful performance. It was a long drive home...and I wish it had been a better game. But Baylor had a tremendous season and I am proud of the kids. Again, congratulations. I hope Corn Elder is ok.

  3. Great read in the Chattanooga Times paper. Quotes from both Baylor and Ensworth for anyone interested....here is the link. http://www.timesfreepress.com/news/2011/nov/30/baylor-has-its-dream-rematch/?sportspreps

As are all Baylor and Ensworth fans...I am so excited about this game. Can't think of a better match up in years. Both are very talented on both sides of the ball. Both are 11-1. And both have players that will take it to the next level and play college ball.

Even though Baylor beat Ensworth 42-14 earlier in the year...I, as most people do, expect a close game. The Red Raiders contained Elder to just alittle of 60 yards then. That would be very hard to do a second time. He is a great talent for sure.

I believe Baylor will win if they can stop turning the ball over as they have done throughout the playoffs. Everyone be safe traveling to the game........Go Baylor!

    Baylor 24

    Ensworth 17

  4. Very proud of Baylor's Barrett Gouger and Henrique Ribeiro. As someone else said the 6'5" Gouger will be playing for Vanderbilt next year. Ribeiro is getting ready for soccer season at Baylor. Has several SEC schools looking at him...and is also looking at continuing his soccer career abroad possibly. Congratulations to Elder as well. Very talented back.

  5. I've been in the process of moving and didn't get to throw my 2 cents in...I think game was a lot like the MBA-MUS state championship game a couple of years ago. Prior to the game, I felt MBA could win, but would have to play their best game of the season, and get a few breaks. I don't recall any controversial penalties against MBA, and Baylor was awfully generous with the ball. I can't imagine their coaching staff was real pleased.

The telling incident of the game was Baylor's drive at the end of the half. Baylor was having an off-night, but that drive showed that they could do enough to win. And while MBA's one dimensional offense worked well enough in the first half, the adjustments Baylor made at halftime were very effective. In short, the better team won. MBA had their chances, and couldn't capitalize. I suspect this is a season most MBA people are glad to have done, given all the turmoil that preceded it.

Good luck to Baylor; I've always thought the Chattanooga posters on here were a classy bunch.

kwoodroof...as always your posts about games are spot on. Yes, Baylor was very generous with the ball and if it continues it will catch up with the Red Raiders. Just have to protect the ball better.

I know it has been a tough year for MBA....by MBA standards. But I have no doubt that they will be back fighting hard next year. I don't expect MBA to be down for long.

  6. Hey guys, I'm excited to be coming to the Baylor campus I've heard so much about. I think it will be a good game, we just seem to be a tough little team. I know Baylor is a clear favorite, as they should be. We seem to be bringing a nice little crowd from what I hear, it will be fun, I hope the trip home will be cheerful.

Welcome Brothers....glad you are making the long trip from Memphis. I am excited that Baylor will be playing CBHS. Not sure Baylor is the clear favorite but making a long trip from home is tough for the kids. However, I would expect that they will be ready to play a hard fought game as will the Red Raiders. Travel safely...and glad that CBHS will be bringing a good crowd. Again, here's to a great game, great atmosphere, an injury free game and a Baylor victory!

  7. Might want to check your facts on this statement. I believe BGA, BA, and Ensworth have fewer male students than Baylor.

I think redraider should have prefaced it by saying McCallie, MBA, MUS and any other all male school. Don't think he would have shot off so quickly except for the "11" comment and the hope MBA beats Baylor on a thread that has nothing to do with McCallie. Just my take.

As for things that have to do with Baylor and MBA...I am very excited about this game. MBA is playing good ball and is on a roll for sure. Baylor has had an extremely good season no doubt.

I look for nothing more than a hard fought battle. Playoffs are a new season and as we all know anything can happen. Baylor will be the favorite in this game and should win. But MBA is always a very tough game....and the way they are playing now Baylor will have to play a very good game.

With that being said...I will go with my heart and head on this game. I predict a close game....Baylor 31 MBA 24. Go Red Raiders!

  8. I will be traveling to BA to cheer on Baylor. BA is as always are very good football team. Baylor is coming off several grueling weeks. If the Red Raiders plays like they did against Ensworth and the 1st half against McCallie then Baylor can win. I expect a very close game....and I will go with my heart and say Baylor by 3.

  9. I understand you are relieved...other than that, I simply think it's time to move on. By the way, I hear the NFL is holding the Super Bowl at Finley in 2017.....dws.

Oldwiseone....those are indeed wise words. Time to move on as both Baylor and McCallie have big division games this week.

  10. Like oldwiseone said....It just doesn't get any better than this. What a setting it is. All red on one side and blue on the other. Sold out....flags flying. I don't know of any other high school game that is so hyped and lives up to the hype yearly than the Baylor/McCallie game. With Baylor being ranked #1 just makes it even better. And McCallie is having a better year than some expected. Here's to an injury free game.....and Baylor extending the streak to 4. Baylor by 10. Go Red Raiders!

  11. I watched the game online (at the price of a headache from the guy zooming in and out with the camera). Baylor really capitalized on Ensworths penalties and fumbles. I was happy for Baylor and look forward to the BA game in a couple of weeks. BA has two weeks to prepare and got to see Baylors entire hand last night. BA's pass rush and speed in their secondary will give them the edge.

Last night was a huge night for Baylor. Next up is McCallie and I did not realize that BA has two weeks to get ready for Baylor. Sounds like BA has yet another great team and I look forward to traveling to Nashville for that game. Should be a great one.

  12. Nice Baylor drive with the great completions....last for a touchdown. Baylor 10 Father Ryan 3 with 2 minutes in the half. Go Red Raiders!

Did not last long. The new quarterback....is an amazing runner....at least for now. Two beautiful spin moves and he ran about 80 yards to tie the game.
