  1. NOT!! :thumb: FOOTBALL SURE HAS CHANGED OVER THE LAST 15-30 YEARS..A LINEMAN USE TO HAVE HIS ARMS/HANDS "INTACT" WITH HIS BODY..NO SO TODAY..THEY CAN REACT WITH HANDS /ARMS EXTENDED LIKE DEFENSIVE PLAYERS..GUESS I JUST CANT GET TO THIS CHANGE IN THE RULES..IM OLE SCHOOL AND WISH IT WERE PLAYED THAT WAY TODAY==MAKES IT MUCH HARDER FOR O-LINE TO BLOCK OLE SCHOOL..NO WONDER SCORES ARE MUCH EASIER TO COME BY AND RUSHERS RUN FOR BIG YARDAGE/BREAKING RECORDS! ;)

Is there anything else you would like to whine about?

  2. Great win Alcoa, the Gold Ball runs through Blount Co...... and Broadway ;-p It's true football over here is more then just a sport and it's traditiom. When these kids play, all the fans aren't just there to watch, they are support, it is like a family over here in the Knox area, I don't think GP has that... no offense, that's just how it seemed. I notice on the boards here too that you all are getting angry with each other, that doesn't show brotherhood to me.

Congratulations to Alcoa, Fulton, and Maryville!!

  3. Yes the ball Ken caught should was complete, but if memory serves me well on Lipscomb's next drive they got the shaft * I can't remember what exactly happened.* Penalties killed both teams and so did big plays. I have a new respect for Mustang football, great job Lipscomb hope we get to play you all again, if was definatly fun!

  4. I just wanna say congratulations to both teams, I was wrong about the blow out, Lipscomb as an incredible team and I was VERY impressed with them. This team was very consistent, which is key as well as physical. A couple of things though, BOTH teams had flags that were huge mistakes and essential to the outcome of the game.... A couple of plays as well that swung the game in one direction *namely, the defensive TD* But nonetheless, I am impressed with both teams and I'm sure they will see each other again.

CONGRATS TO THE FULTON FALCONS ON ANOTHER CHAMPIONSHIP!!! IT FEELS GOOD BABY!

  5. I hate to say it but I told ya so! Congrats to GP on a great season, just think you all are a little too cocky. Maybe this will humble you?? Either way great job! And of course gotta give it up to my boys at Alcoa! You all looked great out there, thanks for leading off our East TN class 2,3,and 4a sweeps!! We look to continue tradition tommorow! Hope to see Alcoa supporting Fulton and Maryville tommorow at the Boro ;-p

  6. I dont believe for a second that the GP kids were laughing at Alcoa players, who cares if Fisher didnt shake Shiv's hand, would you want to shake someone's hand if they humiliated your team a year earlier ?? Every encounter I ever had with a rival team back in high school almost always ended up in a verbal dispute or fight of some sort, you gotta remember we're talking about high school kids who sometimes dont use the best judgement. How boring would a boxing weigh in be if the two fighters shook each other's hand then went out and grabbed a bite to eat together. At this point the only thing that should motivate each of these teams is that gold football.

Boxer's pat gloves, it's called good sportsmenship... something that kid and other Goodpasture kids lack apparently. I will have to say, Goodpasture sounds like a bunch of cocky private school kids, maybe that's why they get blasted by Alcoa year after year?? Shivy and Rankin won't take their foot off the gas now.

    Alcoa- 48

    Goodpasture-17

  7. Hey Snap.

Don't know about that comfort zone bud.

Played a tough Wing T team. Check.

The staff makes good adjustments. Check.

    Playing for KWalker. Check.

    They have athletes. Check.

Balanced Run vs. Pass. ??? Screens. Yes. Stretch the field? No.

Rogan not getting Mr. Football. His teamates may play harder for him because of that. But he will play the same no matter what. He is a tough & classy competitor.

I honestly believe that this game can go either way. DL is very much like Catholic. They are tough, fly to the ball, well coached, physical, hard nosed, etc. Fulton better not go out there thinking that they are playing some privilaged bunch of patsies. They better go out there ready for a knock down, drag out, fight like they had with Catholic twice, and Alcoa once. If they don't, they will get their heads handed to them. The skill players (DB/WR, and especially the RB/LBs are very much like Catholic's. The OL/DL are also simmilar. DL's Gaurds are very good, and as go those Guards, will go that offense.

I just don't feel a 38-17 Final. I feel something more like a 20 to 14 with Fulton going 1/3 on 2 pt PATs. Rmember, if it goes down like that, a 21 to 20 in the other direction is possible. I am telling you, DL can beat Futlon.

Hey ruse? don't think for a second that I don't give credit to DL, they are good and of course I think they have a chance to win. I see the Fulton players practicing and I see a certain intensity/determination I haven't ever seen. They are very focused and determined, and I believe they will play better then they have all year. I don't know how it is over at Lipscomb, but the suspense is building over here and we are ready to bring one home. As far as the passing game, it may not seem like it is well balanced but I believe it's there, just isn't used much, you gotta remember the Catholic game. If you remember, the reason we scored those 18 points so fast is because of the long pass. Our quarterbacks are off sometimes, but our recievers definatly make up for that as they proved a couple of weeks ago. I will stand by my prediction, it will be a good game, but Fulton will have a steady stream of TD's

  8. After much thought, I'm comming out with my pre-game analysis ;-p I agree with Papa Chaos, most coaches underestimate GQ and friends, but I think Blades is a great coach and especially since he read about Maryville he is definatly prepping his team for one heck of a game. I also think Maryville is just a tad bit over confident about this game *I see why look at their record.* The Q is probably beating his players mentally telling them not to get cocky, but a little will show in the first of the game. I see Hillsboro coming out strong against Maryville and taking it to Maryville, leading them by a slim amount. At halftime though, I also see Maryville regrouping and coming out strong as ever, making the correct adjustments needed to win the game. Maryville's overall ability will win this game for the Rebels. GQ's football smarts will make the correct decisions to do it again!

    Halftime

    Maryville- 10

    Hillsboro- 14

    Game

    Maryville- 31

    Hillsboro- 24

  9. Well I have a little bias for East TN football, but that doesn't effect my predictions ever ;-p After much research, thought, review I have my pre game analysis. Goodpasture, I'm sorry but I really think it's going to be a long night for you all *prove me wrong I wanna see a good game.* Alcoa has much talent as they have 2 Mr. Football Award winners. I think Alcoa has sheer talent that will take them all the way on this one. Goodpasture your a good team don't think I'm taking anything away from you I rated you top 10 teams in TN ;-p I don't think it will be a HUGE blowout like alot of people seem to think as Goodpasture has their fair share of talent as well. There will be a steady stream of touchdowns for Alcoa I think and a few for Goodpasture too. Alcoa will keep a steady offense that will drive the ball well. Alcoa defense will be pretty solid as well but Goodpasture will put yards on them. I know Goodpasture won't just lay down, they will play every minute with intensity

    Half

    Alcoa- 28

    Goodpasture-10

    4th

    Alcoa- 38

    Goodpasture- 17

  10. lol ruse?... Anyways I still think Fulton will win with somewhat of comfort after they take a decent 3rd quarter lead. I did a little more research on Lipscomb and they have a great program and certaintly deserve to be here. I think Fulton does have the advantage though in this game for many reasons. 1 They have played an EXTREMELY tough wing T team a couple of weeks ago. 2 Mr. Rogan and friends are probably out to prove a point that Fulton is the team and they will do anything to do that, especially after Rogan lost Mr. Football *which I see this year, but last year's choice was a joke.* 3 They have a great coaching staff which makes adjustments when needed, which will be a huge factor in this game. 4 They are not only playing for themselves, but for Kwalker. 5 They have atheletes out the you know what. 6 They have a well balanced running and passing game.

I think Lipscomb has a chance to win no doubt, but for them to do that I think they will be forced to pass the ball alot more *I don't know if they have that much height, but if they do that will be key.* Like I said for the Catholic game, this will come down to who makes the correct adjustments during the game and especially at the half.

    3rd Quarter

    Fulton 30

    Lipscomb 10

    4th

    Fulton 38

    Lipscomb 17

  11. Wow this topic is downright retarded, some of you are trying to say that 5A are "the big boys." Sorry but that is a joke I am impressed by some 5A teams but I also say the same about 3A. A ton of talent comes out of this class and personally *just an opinion* I think that teams like Fulton and Catholic could compete and maybe go to state in 5A. The only thing that 5A means is that you got more students in your school, doesn't mean you have more talen ;-p

As far as Maryville goes, they aren't nationally ranked for no reason.... they are obviously good or else they wouldn't be. The bottom line is there are top tier teams in every class, whether it be Smyrna, Ravenwood, Maryville, Hillsboro, Fulton, Catholic, Alcoa, Goodpasture, or any other team in other classifications. The fact is you will never know who the "Best team in the state is," until they implement some sort of post play off game.
