  1. Mac would never post on coacht, he can't use a computer! I played against those mid 1990 teams and they were mentally tough! Many times our teams would be more talented but still lose. I coached with mac for a few years too and he gets er done! 24 g.o. is the best play!

24 g.o. was fabulous. We also had a lot of success with 18 solid gold. It was one of the few passing plays in the arsenal. Mac was a strong believer in the run even when we trailed which was few and far between. I'm excited to see how Mac does with MC. Can't wait for some football!

  2. Everything I've read sounds about right when it comes to Mac. I played under him at Moore County in the late nineties. He was defintely hard nosed. He would weed out the weak. Every summer he would haul the team to a week long football camp back in the woods. We as players called it "The Week of heck". If you survived this week, you made the team. I remember going to my first camp as a freshman. We had one of the biggest teams Moore County fielded in years. I believe it was roughly 61 of us that left for camp. Only 44 made it to the end of the day that Friday. I remember hearing kids pack up at night and make a run across the field. The only pay phone was on the other side of camp. They would call Mom or Dad and say, "Come get me!". Now don't get me wrong. We were NOT mistreated, but the practices would make you a player. There were several practices during the day with full pads in the blazing heat. McCurry was going to make his teams "unconditional". We always said under any condition we would not be affected. We would play our game in any place, any weather, and under any circumstance. It helped prepare us beyond football, and I believe that's why so many of his players still respect him. We couldn't stand him while we played for him. It's not until later in life that you understand his method of madness. Give him time and your program will flourish. Give him time and your boys will definitely benefit. Most of all don't doubt the Wing-T. We didn't always enjoy running it, but man did we win some games. Many teammates of mine can vouche for this as my senior class went 43-9 for our high school career. I just wonder if ole 47 Sweep is still in the playbook. Enjoy the ride MC! I sure did.

  3. Thanks for the input, and you are right about their announcer, and I think he may be the one who provides the "train whistle" over the microphone as well. Of course the guy at Community was almost as bad. I'll have to say the Cascade guy kept it respectable. LOL-I like to see someone refer us as "Chapel Hill". We call it old school. I love Forrest, but Chapel Hill brings back great memories, and is our past, like Lynchburg. I think I am tearing up. Anyway . . . .

GO BIG BLUE, OR IN THIS CASE, WHITE!

It'll always be Chapel Hill to me. It's a special place just like Lynchburg. I heard the Rockets have a coach by the name of David Evans. Is he the same David Evans that was a kicker and a pretty good tackle for the Raiders back in the late 90s?

  4. Witnessed this past Friday's game of Community at Moore County

Boy, are you right about homefield advantage! I have NEVER heard a PA announcer talk as much as the guy at Raider Stadium. I am privileged in my line of work to go to several stadiums throughout the great state of Tennessee and have never heard someone do such a subpar job. The Vikings were begging to get out of the stadium so their ears could recover. (fans as well!)

Moore County no longer has the homefield advantage they once had. The years of fans lining the entire fence and making tremendous noise are gone. The "dog pound" group that would congregate down in the endzone below the scoreboard is gone. The days of trying to find an inch of bleacher to sit for only a minute are gone. The hey days of the Moore County Raiders were in the 90s and apparently ended there as well.

Community fought hard and led at halftime 7 to 6. I give props to MC for turning on the juice and putting away a team that just had no depth. Give Community credit for battling, but they just do not have enough horses in the stable.

I wish I was wrong, but I see Chapel Hill winning with ease.

Good luck to both this Friday and in the playoffs.

Play every play like it's your last play.

  5. The privately owned High School Football Radio Network provides online broadcasts.

We are looking for a game to broadcast on October the 28th that would NOT normally be broadcasted otherwise. We provide the man power and the equipment. All that is needed is a place in the booth to set up so we can have one outlet to plug our equipment up. A wireless internet connection would also have to be essential in order to broadcast over the net.

We would like the game to be in Rutherford, Williamson, or some county in that proximity.

The game would be broadcasted for FREE, and our services are FREE. We just want to see how many hits we receive on the website to see if Middle Tennessee is interested in us eventually doing full seasons of broadcasts.

Know any teams that may need us???

If interested please respond to the post so we can get in touch.

    Thanks for reading.

  7. I'm looking forward to this one. I have only been back to Raider Stadium once since my playing days back in the 90s with McCurry.

    1) How early should I get there to get a good seat, or will it not be that packed?

    2) Any possible tailgating going on outside the stadium?

    3) Will there be any merchandise for sell that I can take back with me?

I'm really looking forward to coming "home".

    Prediction:

    Community 14 Moore County 28

    Go Raiders!

  8. That explains a lot of your posts.

Your kid not get enough playing time? Don't think your kid can handle Rector? Don't bother answering. You already have.

Just want to make things clear. You may realize who my son is and that's fine. He won't be playing for Rector as his college days are drawing near.

I did check on your other quote and one of the boys did verify that Coach Eubanks is currently on staff.

    "On The Patrol" :thumb:

Hmmmmm makes you wonder how much of the offense was called by the OC.

So who has the best season next year?

    Mr. VA at Ravenwood

    Rec at Centennial

    Big K at Summit

    Dy at Indy

I had to throw in the last one for Palin. Let's hear it. Predictions?

  9. 1.Wow! Dyson is the head man at Indy. Webb is gone to BGA. Ravenwood and Centennial will continue to rebuild. BRENTWOOD must be geeked.

    2. Will there even be any competition for Brentwood for the top spot in the district?

    3. From what I gather from reading these posts and what my son has said, the players haven't had much of a workout routine up to this point. Why would all this time go by with the players doing nothing when there was at least one coach in the building who could be working them out? Sounds like there may be a problem with the AD at Independence. Oops! Nevermind. :roflol:

    Go Eagles!

  10. Well here is the latest whether Palin or Hogan believe it. I know for a fact that the job was offered to a coach out of Kentucky, and he said no thanks. The other situation I was referring to earlier was I know a local guy was being sought after pretty highly. My source told me that he also turned down the job, but I found out later that this coach actually "took his own name out of the hat" so I apologize for confusing anyone.

Hogan, any chance that Mr. Music City Miracle would get the job by default? I know he probably doesn't want it, but give us another clue to who is left out there. You claim the man will be named by this weekend so leak the info early if you truly are "The Wizard".

  11. Hogan where are you? I figured you would have beat me to this one. The head coaching job was offered AGAIN only to see another fine candidate turn it away. I'm not too sure if this out of state coach would have been successful at Indy or not. As far as trying to get a Rutherford County coach, they tried that route already and failed miserably. Face it Eagle fans. We are gonna have to settle because the appeal is not what it once was. I don't know about some of y'all but I'm starting to worry.

HOGAN, who is next on the list??? I've ran out of guesses other than the man on the Hill and I'm not singing Rocky Top either.

  12. Hogan aka The Wizard probably already knows this, but the head coaching job was offered to someone today. I won't reveal the name because HE TURNED IT DOWN, and I don't want to mess up any future jobs for him. Independence is going to start to get desperate the closer it gets to Spring.

This just in as well: Dooley is out. Look farther down the list.

  13. Why would Webb leave? This is strictly just my OPINION....this is not fact. 1) I am sure that BGA is able to pay more money or a better supplement than Franklin. 2) He may have less of a teaching load or possibly not one at all. Private schools fall under different guidelines than the public WC schools. 3) An old friend of his got the head coaching job so maybe Webb wants to coach along side him or maybe he owed him a huge favor from a betting incident in college (only jokin). Those are just three things that came to mind, but I can't prove any of them.

  14. Trust me. I wasn't trying to stir up anything. I just wanted to get the word out. I was shocked to hear that Webb would leave. I always considered him the mastermind behind their football program. Maybe I'm wrong? I just felt it was a big blow to the program regardless of all the young talent returning. I'm sure the Rebels will done fine in '10. Any word on where he left Franklin to go to? I have been told it was a private school, but I don't want to announce this "educated guess" until my source says it is official.

Go Eagles!!! (We have our own issues trying to find a coach.)
