So do we continue this thread if there is no decision today, or do we start a shiny new Tuesday one?

USPS. They won't spend the extra money for FedEx.
Heck, they won't even send out trophies. Just post an MS Paint picture of a participation award on their website for each school to print off on their own.

Other states are playing more games per week. GA ans SC come to mind without the google.
Still doesn't make it a good idea.

Somewhere deep in the depths of the T$$AA....
“So how much gate revenue can we expect this weekend?”
“NOT NOW, we have to figure out that DB/MCMINN thing! They are expecting an answer in a few hours!!”
“Oh yeah, dang that’s right....”
“So how many possible outcomes are there?”
"Who wants BBQ for lunch?"
"FOCUS MAN, FOCUS!!!!..."
“Right... focus.... possible outcomes.... Let’s see.... 1) DB awarded the win, 2) MCMINN awarded the win, 3) neither wins, 4) they play the game tomorrow and decide it on the field.... I think that’s it”
“Aw, too many choices for flipping a coin... what else can we use.... How about rolling a dice, we could use numbers 1-4?”
“Yeah but a die has 6 sides dumb____ ... “
“You’re right, so... hey don’t they make a triangular dice, you know like the pyramids??”
(several phones pop out and go to amazon.com .....)
"Uhh... what about a rock, paper, scissors contest from the athletic directors, and both of them get to pay us 20 grand?"

DB and McMinn combine to form a super team and they play Maryville on Friday.
Just kidding, they should play, and probably would be best to move all other games to Saturday.

If I'm Maryville the absolute latest I want that game played is Saturday at noon, and IMO Friday night. It's not their fault this debacle happened.
I would agree, any later hurts Maryville's chances when they go on the road the following week (assuming they win this week). Still, it's pretty brutal to send the McMinn/DB kids back out there with such a short recovery period.

At this point, I've changed my mind and there are two options IMO.
1. DB advances by forfeit (and somebody, no clue who because there are 1,000 stories, at McMinn has heck to pay)
2. They play the game Tuesday night
So then what would you anticipate to be the move for the quarterfinal game? Would they bump it back to Saturday or Sunday, or will they really send the winner of McMinn/DB to Maryville on 2 days rest?
No matter what they do will have a ripple effect on later rounds.

It is a Devil. Alcoa wore the Hall Devils uniforms this year as a tribute to Hall High Schools 50 year anniversary. They wore the uni in the Northview Academy game. Kept the mascot on the helmet.
Interesting. Thanks.

I was wondering the same thing
Looks like a devil or something, but I can't really tell.

Pardon me for never noticing, but what is on the side of Alcoa's helmet, and why?

The game before we decided to finish the year 11-0 and win the state championship.

All you can do is tip the hat.

Any TV for this game?

Got to say... had my worries about changing coaching staffs. Had faith in Derek, but he faced an extremely hard schedule and he followed a legend that is one of the top high school coaches in history. That's a tough task and he made all of us extremely proud. Mad props to Mr. Hunt.

Great game by the Rebels and some outstanding sportsmanship from the guys at Cane Ridge. Tons of respect for those guys.

I do remember him. He was a bruiser. That Hillsboro offense was scary good as long as they didn't have to pass the ball.

What game did you watch last week? It was Oakland's linemen that gave us issues, their speed was nothing we haven't seen before.
Oddly enough their fullback gave us the most trouble. He gashed us.

Still annoyed that they changed the championship game schedules.

Good job Kees!!! Big Congrats!

Congrats to Oakland for a great season you guys have a great team. It was as billed tonight , that is what the 4th round game should be like. Fortunately it ended up in our favor this time. We will see ya in week 2 next year. Thanks for a great game. Much respect here. All you Oakland folks that I spoke with were very nice . Safe travels.
That's a long hard trip back after a loss. I don't wish that on anyone. The good thing for Oakland is that they will be back stronger with tons of seniors next year. This is a fun rivalry.

Oakland is unbelievably talented. I'm not going to take away from Cane Ridge, but that game really felt like a state title game. Would love for them to play again on a neutral field. Just flat out good football by both teams.

Seems like Quarles had a bag of tricks that Hunt just doesn't have.
