Everybody is forgetting about Lake County!! Ya believe what ya waana believe but I no and lc coaching staff and players no that they have enough talent coming back to make another run this year! yeah they are loosing alot but they are bringing some sophmores that going be junior and juniors that are goin to be seniors that can flat out play ball!! the juniors for the 2007 season that will impact will be Matt Irwin, Derrell Avery, Erin Reid and a few more maybe and the senior class is got sum pop to. SO YA BETTER NOT COUNT OUT LAKE COUNTY JUST YET!!!

Two years ago. It was my Sophomore year at Lake County. We were at Bruceton. it was 7 degrees outside with winds of 30 mph. enough said.

About a previous post. the most common route to LC from Jackson is 412 to Dyersburg and then 78 to Tiptonville. It takes a while. While I live here, I have to admit Tiptonville is somewhere you have to be going to. You don't go through it to get to anywhere else. That said, If you don't want greasy foods, eat before you leave Dyersburg or Jackson, we have no fast food joints other than a slow sonic and a slow DQ. Also, go to the bathroom before you get here....sorry. Just a heads up.

And for those of you that are concerned, Lake County has been living off reputation for the last 20 years, it's safe here. The last few problems we've had here have been from non-residents save a few fires. But yes, we have large mosquitos.

Large skeeters? no there not large. there GINORMOUS! They can stink a grown man dry and carry offf the corpse to feed the young. But hopefully we wont have to worry about that Friday night b/c hopefnully it will be too cold for those god-forsaken creatures.

Wow..28-7..That must mean that J.C.S. is about 40 points better then Fayette..Because..no matter what the scoreboard said...Lake Co was at least two touchdowns better then Fayette!

Bruceton seem to take Springer out of the game by stopping the option. Then, the CB's from Bruceton took the deep threat away from Valentine. That forced them to run between the tackles with Yancey and they wasnt going to win that battle. That was

Yeah. Right. He Couldnt run up the middle. the last time i checked, "A" gap (between the center and gaurds) was up the middle, and he ran there all night

I think that lake co. wins this but i hope they lose. i think that every one of em( the players and the fans) need to hav just a little bit of class, its obvious that the dont have any. when you beat a team at their home and take away their season at least you could show some respect to the players the fans, and the field. there is no reason to go out and tear up the seniors names and the V on the field while cussin at the fans that are out there. you are all lucky that the football team was in the locker room because i dont know how many ppl would have walked off that field at all that night. you all need some class.

Hold on now big mouth. You dont know what your talking about. I dont see how in the world we could tear up the field with our cleats, anymore than four quarters of football. And as far as the cussing goes, we never said a four lettered word to anyone on the field after the game. All of you should be ashamed because of the cussin our coaches took in the booth after the game. That shows bad class. Be proud, yall came out and played four quarters, dont be bad sportsmen b/c you lost. So I dont want to hear anymore about who has more class.

Hello bigwes, I have an officiating question for you. I have been to the game between FA and LC the last two years at FA and the referee on our side of the field paid a lot of attention to the sidelines and where everyone was standing. There was a different referee on our sideline last year and it was the same situation. I even noticed that this year that the guys carrying the sticks were backed up off the sideline about a yard. I don't recall seeing this anywhere else that I have been to a game. Usually the sticks are right on the line. And last years ref as well as this years ref watched the players on the sideline like a prison guard watching inmates at the fence. This year we even got penalized for the coach being a couple of steps on the field trying to call a timeout. What does the rulebook say about that. Are they doing it right and everyone else is doing it wrong or vice versa. I mean these crews at the FA game are downright territorial. Just curious about that. If bigwes doesn't read this or if anyone else could enlighten me please feel free to do so.

Spellerone, the reason the sticks were about two yards back off of the sideline was that Coach Barger asked them to move them back so all of us players would stay inside the box. As for the penalty, i have no clue what was going on there, i was on the field, but that was very uncalled for. But i guess players, coaches, and fans should expect crazy flags at all of our away games. for example, on the punt that Sep ran back, they threw a falg on Quentin Jones for holding. They said he was behind him and Q was grabbing him. Q was in front of him the entire time, so i dont see how that is correct. But then again, thats what you get when your Lake County.

Look guys this is about LC and Trinty.Let's leave UC out of it before this thread gets closed down.

Nonthing matters except us and TCA Friday night. If we come out and play like we did last Friday then we will not be dissapointed when we walk off their field. We have got to play 1 week at a time, and cant overlook anyone. Ask Fayette Academy. Whatever happens, I will not walk off the field knowing i could have done better. I will not hang up my pads for the last time next monday. I will not walk off of their field a loser. I will leave it all on the feild for four quarters. And after last week, I know everyone else on the team will do the same exact thing.

I would like for some ball players to respond to your post..Lake Co Campbell..or even some Trinity players..Seems to me Lake Co won about 3-1 or 4-1..Seems like springer scored about the first two times he touched the ball!

We beat TCA in preseason by two touchdowns, the score was 2-1. that was the final. I hate inaccurate posts.

I guess the defense was terrible at Bruceton.We gave up 14 points in that game.Held Jordan to 180 yards which is below his average. We fumbled twice inside the 20 and stalled inside the 10. We got alot of very questionable calls in that game. These kids get on coach t and read this stuff. It is sad to know that they have to read on here that their own fans have given up on them.They may or may not beat Fayette Acad but at least they deserve their own fans support. I hope the LC football players and coaches put all of the negative behind them and play their hearts out Friday night and good things will happen. I will be in Sommerville to support the falcons win or lose.Just maybe these kids are not ready for basketball season.

 

You are right. that isone thing that really makes me mad. We work like crazy in practice to go down there and play four quarters of football. Then we get on the internet and see where all of our fans have given up on us. Like coach says no matter how much you talk you still have to strao 'em up and play some ball. I know we still havent won the big one yet, but this being my last year, i will do everything in my power not to lose to them for the third year on a row. Come on LC fans, have some faith in the Green and Gold.

I know it's not "unique", but I have always wondered why Roane County High School and Coalfield use the nickname of Yellow Jacket. Roane County's, aka Kingston, colors are navy and orange(NO YELLOW) and Coalfield is orange and black(NO YELLOW).

Greenfield Yellowjackets are the same way.. mascot is a yellowjacket, colors are orange and black.

As a player from LC I want to set the record straight. If I remember correctly, it was 4th and 1 or 2 when UC punted and Springer made that "pee-wee" mistake as you call it. As I said, I want to set the record straight. Springer is not LC punt returner. That role is occupied by #5 Yancy and #15 Valentine. The call was for defense to remain on the field. Springer does not get reps in the return game and you can't blame him for trying to make something happen in the heat of battle. Bottom line, Brandon Springer did NOT lose the game for LC. We win as a team, we lost as a team. I give UC credit, they did not lay down after trailing 21-0 at the half. But as we all know, the best team did not win. Now UC and LC are both 1-1, and don't be surprised if our paths cross again. GO FALCONS!

AINT THAT THE TRUTH . IT HURTS BUBBA, BUT THE FACT IS THAT WE LOST THAT GAME. IT WASNT THE STRIPES, THE COACHES, OR THE FANS. IT WAS THE POOR PLAY DURING THE SECOND HALF OF THE GAMEW. I believe a team has to have an average of .500 to be listed..If U.C was 1-1 and L.C. was 2-0 it would be listed...Or if U.C. was 1-0 coming into this game..But..since both theseschools have only played one game apiece and U.C. losing..I believe that is the case to why it's not listed

Actually....we're even on runner-up trophies. LC was runner-up in 1977, 1979 and 1994....UC was runner-up in 1997, 2000 and 2005.

 

But LC does have those two gold footballs....more than any school in West Tennessee except Milan.

If you won't say it I will, the winner of this game wins the region. Mckenzie just isn't good enough to beat these teams this year. Mckenzie has a good team don't get me wrong, they just ran into a year when Lake County has the best team it has had in over a decade. The bad thing about this game is who we played. Could we please play someone closer that is just as bad. Not complaining about the effort that was displayed down in mississippi but for a team that didnt win a game last year anyone effort level to beat that team doest have to be that high. Let up replace that game with a obion co. or dyer co. or someone else that is fun to watch and changes are competition level to be competitive instead of laughable. People ask me all the time, " Do yall play anyone that is any good?" and I say to them, " Not until the playoff and the off season." Tell the coach to play someone good on the non district games please.
