  1. I really enjoyed reading it as well. The personal level it got with both Coach and West. Premiere people they are. APSU would be a nice fit for #30 of the Rebels. IF they overlook him it'll be stupid. But, business is business for most. Here's for hopin :thumb: Good luck to Jake anywhere he goes, he'll be a profound asset for whatever team he plays on

  2. You know.... I read a few postings maybe 2 or 3 maybe even 4 I'm not real sure but I am getting the basic idea of the story here referring mainly to the very 1st thread here. you obviously don't have any knowledge of the game to start off with. obviously you are either a parent who is mad because your son isnt getting much playing time, or you are one of those redneck fans thats not sure weather you are at a football, baseball, or basketball game.. your just there supporting because everyone else said be there at 7:30 there is a game. The coach from stweart county is one of the better coaches in the district and does a VERY good job with the talent he has. the best player that he has is Jake West and he is just a good highschool player at best. He doesnt have much talent. winning the games that he does should be taken good there.. lets be honest here.. your not getting players from nashville or clarksville who are athletes.. there might be some years you dont win 10 games.... The point im trying to make is.. get off Coach Bramlett... good guy and coach. I didnt see yall ragging him when they started off 3-0 in the district.. you would have thought he was Coach K or something... This is coming from someone who has a very good idea of the game.. Good Luck Coach and his team.

MightyMan93442 has not a clue what he is talking about!!!!!!!!!! Stewart County boys basketball is in the best hands it has been in in over 30 years. Coach Bramlett did not make turnovers, miss shots or miss blockouts against Cheatham. He puts his players in the best position possible to win games and if it does not happen then he supports the efforts of his players. He believes in discipline, teamwork, character, and strong work ethic and would never in a lifetime put up with attitudes of some players in out district. His team does not have the talent of Cheatham County teams or others for that matter but his style and discipline makes up for lack of talent and lets them compete for the first time in many years. When you have been voted coach of the year twice in girls and once in boys in only his second year ( by other coaches in the district) he must be doing something right and have their respect. It looks like he has cleaned up and built a competitive program at SC and should be commended for the job done.He is more than about wins and losses but building relationships and character that his players will take with them long after basketball is over. My hat is off to Coach Bramlett and the job he has done at SCHS.

Bramlett is much more than a coach to these young men. My players think the world of him. They know that no matter the situation Bramlett will be there to help them. He is the total package for a good coach. It is true we are not a wealthy team as far as talent goes but he makes a team out of them. The players have a lot of drive and Bramlett gets it out of them. He is successful because of the discipline, and character he instills in these young men.

Don't know what else to add to these..plain and simple Agreeance! :thumb: Great Coach, Great Guy..Props and hats off to Bramlett

  3. Jake West put on a show last night @ Cheatham. I don't recall any of his shots going in and out, but rather in and in. West is a great player and Lancaster is solid, but that is ALL they have got. They are a disciplined, classy, and well-coached team, but it took a fantastic performance by West to keep them in the game. SC has enthusiastic fans who travel well, but They need to be a little more realistic in regards to their expectations. Bramlett does an excellent job with the players at his disposal. Huge win for the Cubs last night! They hit the big shots when they had to and got the job done. Looking forward to Friday's games.

howdoitknow that's about right..I can support every word on this post. Last night was a good rival meeting, and CC came out of it with a Win. A win's a win, and they hit the big shot when needed. The Rebels need to find more offensive production outside of perennial West and Lancaster..though im sure everyone Already Knows this. I figured Hargis would've been drilling 3's even more his senior year, but he's been to laxed on his shot so far. Earhart had a heck of game jus the other week knockin down 3 3's...but everyone besides the Main two are too inconsistent. Step it up guys, they need ya to win.

    Good job Cheatham

  4. Well, Sycamore came to play and that is what they did. they have great execution and did just what they needed to in order to come out of Dover with the Win and T-1st place in District. I take nothing away from this club, they faught hard and held the rebs down. We just couldn't overcome turnovers and the war eagle defense. Final, 44-31, but it was in no means any kind of blow out. The game was pretty much a slow-paced progression..being 2-5 after the 1st quarter tells ya something.

Like I said, Sycamore deserves credit for the Win..and I hope the Rebels get it together and bounce back monday v. Bruceton. Good job both teams

  5. I'm hoping for Lohin to be in the game tomorrow night, best of wishes to him

A 25pt Victory is rediculous for anyone to post, so dont be stupid. However, it could be a double digit win for Sycamore if the Rebels play like they did against houston county/northwest. There have been some key step-ups within the Rebel squad, and they have been getting more of a team effort all around in my opinion. It's not just a jake west show, so opponents can't just expect him to be the only playmaker under Coach B. Forget records or previous games, this is a Huge District showdown for both teams. The home crowd needs to take the advantage and make it as tough on the War Eagles as possible (with sportsmanship no doubt :thumb: ). Either way guys, best of luck to both schools in all aspects of the game :o

  6. Yeah, we all send the appreciation out to BC for his hand on the boards.

The SC-SHS game will be a great one. I know the War Eagles will come prepared to give them Rebels all they got. With or Without Lohin they'll be tough. Bramlett, im sure, has been gettin his club ready for a big showdown at home. Great fans, huge Student support, pretty awesome fanatical atmosphere there in Dover. Good luck to both teams in remaining injury free, play hard Rebs :thumb:

  7. I think SC has a definite fighting chance against the Cheatham County teams, all of them. We'll find out starting Friday, but I think they deserve a little more credit from some. I know they aren't a top notch program, but this is a well-coached squad determined to come ready every game.

  8. What a showing for the Rebs against Wavo...Hargis was almost the main story in that game in my opinion. A very flashy 14pts thanks to his 4/5 shooting from downtown. West, of course, handled his business and dropped 28. Lancaster stayed tough in the post and stuck with the boards. They came out striking with 4 consecutive 3-pt's and didnt look back. Great job on the Win! Next is fairview @ Home. Look to see the Rowdy Rebels in full swing and pumped as Bramlett prepares his guys for round 2 against the Yellowjackets

  9. This team came out friday night with explosiveness and determination. Being at that game felt pretty good, especially after watching Hargis drain 4 opening 3's. They showed me more of what I expect to see in a competitive team. I don't know if they're for real or whatever you wanna call it, but once these Cheatham county games get underway it'll definitely be a bit more exciting :thumb: Major Props to Bramlett and his Guys for tearin down the tigers

  10. I dont think Wavo will be able to stop Bramlett and his guys. If the Rebs dont start out runnin em down, they'll do that early-to-mid 2nd half. Im not saying that the Tigers just dont have a fighting chance, because every team does..but : West is clear atop with the Leaderboard in the District and great with the rock, Lancaster is a great post with strong play, Hargis can stroke from the arc or the stripe, and Wooten's got hops/speed/awareness. Also, Boone Smith is a prom. 6th man that'll knock down clutch shots when ya need em. Big Props to some of these players that are definitely stepping up in big ways.

    Rebel Victory :thumb:

  11. AS much as I support my lofty Rebels, they will probably take a loss soon. I think the 1st Sycamore or Cheatham Co. game is where they will take the hit first. They play the War Eagles at home on the 15th, and I expect that to be a great showing from both clubs. Maybe the homecourt advantage will give SC the edge, esp. with West and Lancaster dominating. Though I could possibly be wrong and Sycamore comes in and not look back. Either way, I look foward to that game in a week and I expect the Rebels to still be undefeated in District play until then

  12. how can waverly have a long year? are the days longer down there?

Just a saying their Fv. When you win it seems to be better and not so tough, when you lose everything seems to take forever and drag on..that's Obviously what the indication was.

  13. Oh usually with a lot of people you play better when you are sick, because you dont think about it as much when you have all the emotions running through your body. Congrats, who do you all have next.?

The Rebs play at Waverly on Friday. thanks hhs#1. Yeah Jake did pretty well through ill-immunity. But tonight was more of a team effort than a one man deal.

  14. Jake West led the way with 25 tonight. Not bad for a sick guy :thumb::angry:

Just goes to show the toughness of Him and the rest of the Rebel bunch for stickin theirselves in and finishing the game. The defense stepped it up a notch, and some surrounding players became clutch as the clock ticked down. Good job though nonetheless to a determined Red Hawk bunch that came in and gave SC what they had. Also, props once again to the fans of Stewart County for showin their rebel spirit

  15. Well he's jus speakin wat's goin on. I dont think you should play gentle, but i def. dont agree with vile physical play. I wont just single CC out because there are other teams in this ring as well, but I'll back up another person if they get knocked for tellin it like it is.

  16. good ol' cheatham just sticks to what they're taught i guess. i wont say that they are always cheap or dirty, nor will i say that they're the only team that has done it...though i can say when they do it's more obvious than any other. ive seen film and been to ball games where it happened, but ill jus let it ride. Back to the sycamore-CC game..Sycamore just had their number and outplayed 'em. The Cubs arent bad, they just didnt get it together for a W.

And yeah, Creekwood pulled a good one v. Harpeth..but it's district ball, anything can happen

  17. IF SC can limit their turnovers and maintain the boards then it'll be a Rebel Victory for sure. Otherwise, it'll be a long night that will involve some Red Hawks feasting up and down the court. Good game, can't really give a prediction..esp. with Creekwood's defeat on HHS lately. I'd say, if anything, homecourt advantage with the student section could be a big factor that plays into this one

  18. thats a big surprise to me. i cant believe harpeth lost to creekwood.

Crazy if ya ask me, but stuff like that happens. They'll bounce back and get to dominating again. Better to lose early in the season than late...yea the games might come back to haunt you, But those late season W's could be the push any team needs

  19. SC beats the Warriors 60-50..West hit some pretty big shots and scored around 25, J. Lancaster scored around 15 or so too. J. Taylor and West both played some good D with their block party. The Rebs crashed the boards and took care of business in McEwen tonight. Great job guys :)

West was clutch, hitting 4 3's and I dont kno how many swats, and continuously crashing the boards for a Double-Double evening. Lancaster applied the post pressure and sleeked his way for a 15pt outing. Wooten neared double digits with 9 and Hargis went perfect from the stripe with 4, even though he had numerous Open looks to represent his stroke beyond the arc. Pretty good game last night, gotta give props to Coach B for handling his team and makin sure they were ready. We're @ Rival HCHS tonight ready for a showdown..hopefully we wont need a Sweet Lee shot to win this time, but we'll def. take it if we have to

  20. Yea I am sure West is good, he just doesnt do good at all against Harpeth. I think whenever he does something bad and we get in his head, he then tries to do to much, just like a few other players from last year. Stewart County would be that much better if they like Cheatham didnt wear there emotions on there sleeves.

Yeah, sometimes I feel like when they get down and mess up, they might get too critical with themselves and over do it or lose confidence in play..which tends to be the falling point. All players just have to remain focused and roll with it. The one thing I did see in SC's opening game was when they got down and were falling away, they re-gained their composure and fought back, which is what they didnt do last season. Hopefully that'll continue and create better games down the stretch.
