can anybody answer why watertown chose not to play dekalb this season they have played for probably the past thirty to fourty seasons with watertown winning about 3/5 of the games?

  2. They did...2-1. And everybody has a chance to win. That's why you show up and play. However, Goodpasture should beat DeKalb by however many they want.

Y'all better get that pitcher back...and quick. Otherwise, you'll be paying to get in at State, just like us. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

No Doubt Goodpasture is the fav to win...seeing how they are a private school

but i was just going by the seeding try not to get too upset!

but just a couple stats dekalb beat cannon 15-0 after 4

Goodpasture beat cannon 7-0 in 7

but i dont think dekalbs pitcher has done a bad job at all and with a great d to back her up

i belive her era throughout the district tourney and the first game of regions was under 1.0

  3. AA has some tough competition from waverly to creek wood to alot of other well rounded squads one of the top teams could be creek wood or camden high school both are very well taught and talented teams both have a chance at the state

I expect DeKalb Co. make another deep run in the state tourney if they play up to thier capability down the strech!

  4. Actually, there has been a lot of discussion by me and a few others about one of the reasons why Region 3-3A fails to perform well in the playoffs......lack of quality competition. Brandon echoed those same sentiments in his comments given to the Daily Post-Athenian (posted by me a few posts back in this thread). Another reason is just the sheer quantity of talented, skilled athletes who are faster (possibly bigger and stronger) compared to several teams in Region 4.........and other 3A Region teams. An argument could probably be made that many of those teams are better coached because the teaching/coaching pay is much higher than this area, thus attracting the cream of the crop coaches. I still tend to think it's based more on seasonal competition, plus quantity and quality of athletes.

I haven't looked that close to next years' playoff alignment, and got confused when I did. I hope you, or someone else, have and will examine it further after the TSSAA finalizes these schedules and alignments.....then will share it with us lazy and less intelligent people. /huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" />

Perhaps teams in this area just need to enjoy the intense rivalries with nearby schools that exist, and not set their expectations so high beyond a Regional Championship? I don't think you'll find more community pride, support and spirit than you'll find in a Polk -vs- Meigs football game, for example. And if the game is at Meigs, you'll be treated like family to some of the best food around! /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />

Well about the size speed and strength thing in the first paragraph atleast 2 of those statements are false. Because McMinn central was definatley bigger and faster than DeKalb. Stronger well idk because those boys work hard in the weight room. So i just thought i would put that out there because on paper McMinn was definatly supposed to win.

  5. Do the schools from 4-3A have middle school football? Do they have enough numbers to play a freshman schedule? I know there is a middle school leaque in Chattanooga, Rhea County has three middle school football teams and South Pitt has middle school football. In Polk, Monroe, Meigs and McMinn counties there are no real middle school teams. All the kids play in either the Sequoyah Conference or McMinn-Meigs recreational leaques. I am not sure if there would be a difference or not. I know Grundy and Norte Dame have middle school football too. Would like to hear some discussion on this subject.

Almost every middle school in middle Tn has a football team i thought all schools around the state did?

  6. Underdogs? I think the Tigers are thriving on that label. Keep playing hard ! I know White House is a powerhouse but as good as they are their defense will not be as tough as McMinn Central's. Light up the scoreboard......Make the Devils score a 100 points to win. Just win baby!

I will agree DeKalb will practice hard this week knowing that they will play a bigger and more athletic team(just as they did last friday) Thier D has played great the past three weeks by giving up less than 7 points a game...one TD from the mcminn game was a KO return. so they will be ready, so the real question will be is can WH keep DeKalb from scoring? another little fact...DeKalb hasn't lost on the road this year...they travel well!!!

  7. just noticed that dekalb beat sycamore 20-6. have heard that sycamore is just not very good and dekalb is all world....what happend in this game? i know one game is just one game, but should have dekalb won this game more convincingly? any info?

Also, it seems that Dekalb has been trying to establish a running game the past couple of weeks so they won't be so one demintional. It seems to be working pretty well considering how Pottete and Lawrence rushed for around 230 together last week.

  8. wow...what happened to those eight players?

promise you volsrule#1...won't be as many turnovers this time....

2 moved the other 6 quit...none were starters though

Also had a very fast running back that moved in and worked out all summer then moved again right b-4 football season started never made it on the roster though

  9. Well he actually plays safety, but yea he is full time qb and safety. He has intercted a pass and ran it back down the whole field for a touchdown against White House. I'm telling you he is a beast.

Since when is is he the full time saftey? He prly plays the equivalent of 1 quarter per game at saftey some games more some games less just depends on what d they are running

  10. i would say mc has the edge in on special teams? jamin had a okay game vs howard, but if he is on, that all world qb won't get the opportunity to run one back. he will be startin from the twenty every time.

i would love to see some special teams play from the chargers like we saw in the meigs game.

And i would love to see some special teams like they played against howard i know Moss ran a punt back but i belive thay also fumbled 3 times on special teams as well

  11. I think Region 3 would have come out better if Central had beat Howard.

I believe Central would handle Sycamore because they are a running team. I don't think anyone has been able to do much on the ground this year against the Central D.

Dekalb County will be a much tougher assignment for the Charger D, The Central secondary is susceptible to the passing game of Dekalb.

I think Howard would match up better against Dekalb, and Central would match up better against Sycamore.

Well I think if howard played DeKalb it wouldn't even be close....DeKalb wouldn't give Howard the game like Central did. Also DeKalb is pretty good creating turnovers on D. Just watching howard play they seem the dont have very good coaching. DeKalbs linebackers would wear Howards QB out.

  12. polk wins by a qb sneak on the goal line with seconds remaining. Polk 20 Camp 16

Hope this kid is kidding lol /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Sc will dominate...the kept dekalbs high powered o to 27 and white house to 21 and from what i have heard/read polk doestnt have a great O...therefor SC winns by atleast 21...and alking about the kid with 1,000 yards its Tope #5 and hes a rlly good back not amazing speed but if i not mistaken i read he avg.'s over 6 yrds a carry will someone from SC let us know?

  13. Navydiver07 you beat me to the punch I was going to say Station Camp runs the Wing T, and that I don't believe I have ever seen two teams run that offense play against each other.

That should be a treat, do you think the offense will have as much punch as it does when you run it against someone that don't know the tricky fakes and double handoff plays. Each team will know what to look for... the little things... that a team that doesn't run it wouldn't know how to see it. It will especially true if Polk has a lot of players that play on both sides of the ball. Don't think Station Camp has alot of players that go both ways.

Should be interesting to watch how that unfolds.

    Good luck to both teams.

Ps. There are alot of Motels on Long Hollow Pike in Goodlettsville that are only a few minutes from the SC field as well.

Both sides of the ball??? idk if SC has any players that play 3 quarters on one side of the ball except for thier QB and Tope. they rotate players like a college team would but with dressing 80 and thats not including freshmen you can do that. thier school size is almost 5A but it wasnt 4 yrs ago when they did the reclassifications. and im not trying to be negative im just stating facts. they should go far in the play off's and if they and WH meet again i think Sc pulls it out and they def. pull this one out...will easily beat howard as well.

  14. well im not really worried about that WR out running our guys because if he gets by everyone im almost sure #7 (Josh Moss) will make it a foot race and he doesn't lose many foot races. He ran a 4.4 when off season was here not really sure what he can run now wide open and it ben stiles doesn't get up field than that QB may not get very much running room as for the howard game is was horrible no one had a good game i mean we gave them the game but thats behind us and the chargers are going to come out upset off cause of the game and just beat Dekelb down with the running game chargers by a touchdown 35 to 28

Yea Moss is the fastest high school player i have ever saw! but he got hurt on the 2nd play of the game friday but not sure if the seriousness of the injury

  15. I wish I could be this optimistic, After what I saw last night and what I've heard about Dekalb County. I'm afraid Region 3 goes 1 and done again with region 4 this year.

I love the Chargers, But I don't see them getting this fixed before Friday.

Pass defense has been a question all year. I think it really showed its weakness in the East Ridge game. E.R. quarterback just didn't hit the open receivers, Like Howard did.

If Dekalb throws it like everybody says they do, then Central is in trouble.

I also wonder why Central offense always throws and runs to short side of the field? Would love to see them go to the other side more, and give their playmakers an opportunity to make something happen.

Go Big Blue,,,,,,,, Prove me wrong this week.

Well i think howard might win thier first game but besides that region 3 wont win one.

DeKalb can throw like everybody says they can he leads the state in passing td's and is 2nd in the state in yards as of last week

If central had a good QB they would be a great football team. He doesn't have much of an arm on him but i dont belive they will be throwin to much on DeKalb after they watch last weeks game film one of DeKalbs corners had 4 INT's!
