9AAA the best in midstate

I think it would be hard to argue the fact that district 9 AAA from top to bottom, has to be the toughest district in the midstate, or the entire state for that matter. Wilson Central, Mt. Juliet, Smyrna, will probably finish 1,2,3, with Gallatin and Beech fighting it out for the #4 spot. All five teams of excellent caliber. Districts 7AAA and 8AAA simply do not have teams of this caliber.

This is the best in the state. Wilson Central is the defending state champs, M.J. won it all 2 years ago. Smyrna just took out Riverdale and Beech is a scrappy team that will give you fits. Just ask Cookville, Seigal, and Livingston.

Any of these teams in any other divison would take state every year...no doubt... :(

I wouldn't go that far, Districts 7AAA and 8AAA have had their share of state championship teams in the past and generally are every bit as good or BETTER THAN DISTRICT 9 AAA, but this year outside of Shelbyville and Riverdale, the two districts for this year seem to be alittle bit down and not as strong as 9AAA. With that said I don't think anyone will be shocked if Shelbyville or Riverdale wins the state this year. They certainly will have an easier road.

Mt. Juliet by 10 with Hall! Good game without Hall!

LaVergne is coming on strong right now too. No doubt 9AAA is tough. All but Hendersonville could beat anyone in state on a good night.

I think without Hall MJ and WC will split. With Hall, maybe same, but, MJ could take them both times. We'll never know now.

    • One final thought. Coach Keith claims he was not aware of the player's failing grades. I won't comment on that, just to say this, IF he did not, whose job was it to see that this kid did not play ball at CHS? That person should be looking for a job and they might be, I don't know.
    • They have fired the principal, 2 teachers, at least 1 counsellor and 1 coach so far. I don't see it from my view in Oak Ridge as a coach thing, he  was just implicated in asking 1 teacher to  fix 1 kid's grades.   In our local media(Clinton and Oak Ridge)the principal is who is the originator and pusher of the fraud. The others are peripheral. The coach isn't even the big story, just here on a sports site.  The media view is the principal did it to cause CHS to be seen as excellent by the state. He committed fraud to do that so he might spend a little time in jail IF that is valid.
    • And from coach himself, he wasn’t told he was let go because of the ineligible player.    that’s just what the schools needed to happen to fit their bull
    • Wish it was made clear before a coach gets let go or not retained instead of being sold as the reason he was in trouble. I was told the kids who got grades changed, 97% or better were non athletes but the coach is taking all the heat so the schools can pretend it wasn’t their job to know. heck, what do you think could happen when you hire husband and wife as head principal and head guidance….   that’s not being said though…
    • Hmmmmm……doe dee doe doe.  Last time I came up there to watch my pirates one of those guys in that pickup trucks flattened the tires on the lawnmower.  This is payback.  You can bet the lawnmower on that.
