Anytime a team loses, they can blame the refs. They're always going to be bad calls that go for you and against you. Either way, when the final whistle blows it is either a "W" or an "L". As a coach, you move on. If you can't look at your team and find mistake or areas of improvement then maybe it's time to move on to college or professional ranks. Coach Shelton

From a "A" Coach"; What about the small schools who are sometimes forced to have Fresh and Soph on Varsity? They do play, but not alot. It's not their fault or the coaches and they should be allowed to get better. Coach Shelton

We have played both teams here at NG and CD looks better at this time of the year. CD appears to have a little better bench and their size inside may be a few points better. WG is a little bit bigger and probably have higher potential. Should be a great in county contest. I am just glad we had a decent 2nd half. Hopefully NG is better than what everybody thinks, but still no wins. Best of luck to both on Friday. Coach

Last time I checked GHS is "AAA" and CD, WG, and SG are "AA" and NG is "A". Aren't they suppose to be better than the other (based on Division)? We play just as hard when we play up a division at NG, but we are concerned about the district, regional..... and so forth. So, let's compare where we need to compare. Who's the best Greene Co. "AA" player? Wow those GHS boys played super in the Land Air and there is not a county team comparable. (At least based on the results minus SG). Finally, NG has a lot of work to do. I don't understand the conflict. If these teams work together, we might be able to make everyone a better team. Maybe these other counties would fear playing anyone in Greene County which I doubt they do right now. Coach Shelton

We played against Bradley Central and they are the real deal. Given we don't have much but they could have easily scored 150 against us. I also watched the Patterson school and the Red Bank team play. No one compares with BC. I guess we will see if the Patterson school can step it up tonight at 4:30. Should be a great game but I am picking BC by 10 after watching the games on Tuesday. Hopefully we can score more than 19 against Volunteer. They didn't look bad either. They fought hard the entire way. See ya there!

Sometimes. Improving a program isn't about what is currently happening on a floor. NG is working through a lot of issues with the loss of French and Ball. We have minor injuries to Hopson and Sayler. We are also working on classroom issues as well. There will be times when our bench is small but hopefully they become better men for what is going on. We will keep working hard and who knows, am upset here or there and we may have a decent season. Straight from the DEN! Coach Shelton

Not to upset anyone or create any further speculation, but Andrew French will not be playing at North Greene for his Senior season. I would rather not discuss in any further detail.

I agree the matchup is bad. Have you ever been to North Greene? It is obvious why we are "A" team. Clinton is a "AAA". Should we physically be able to compete with them? No, we are not suppose to. I think all Greene county teams are invited to play in the tournament as a gesture of goodwill from LandAir. I am new here and I just am tired of the putdowns and want to stand up for this year's team. Great kids!!!!! They are working VERY hard to make themselves better. These people that get on here bashing need to realize that some circumstances are uncontrollable.

Way to go HighSchoolFanatic. It is great that you can set there in front of your computer and put teams down. All I asked is that you refrain from being negative towards teams that work as hard if not harder than others to make improvements. Some teams may only win a few games each year, but their out there busting their tail.

West Greene and North Greene were invited because we are local teams. We make be a weaker team than some of those AA and AAA schools, but we work just as hard. North Greene is busting its tail this year to make improvements. I am not going to say we will have a great team this year, but hopefully we will be improved. All the kids have ever heard is negativity. We got beat by 40 and 50 last year. It is tough to turn that around in one year. But, we got several returning seniors and a new coach. Don't give up on them yet. Or should I say, at least be positive.

What are the expectations in 1A this year anyway? I saw some of the teams play in JC this summer but many of them were depleted to football.
