  1. What do you mean get to play both ways?

last year you played only one side of the ball. The best players stood on the sideline. In high school you put the BEST players on the field and if you have to play both sides you play both side.

I think this year will be better than last, but the next should be the year Stone will make a name for itself

  2. I cant really answer that question im just going by what Ive heard they just didnt wanna play for him id like to know why

I heard today that coach Shultz was in the Stone weight room and that he will be the new line coach at Stone. Also heard that Coach Zazorro will be the new DC at Stone.

Times are a-changing! and only 4 1/2 more months til spring!

  3. Stone Memorial's coaching staff has stepped down. Head Coach Davis and coach's Goss and Raper have decided not to coach next season. The hunt for a new staff has already started. The only question is will the school hire from with in the county or will it look for someone from the outside. We should know in a few weeks what the decision will be. The only one staying is the DC Coach Hanlon. I am not sure about our volunteer coaches.

Good Luck to Coach Davis and the other coach's.

  4. I have not heard, but I have seen the Stone 09 schedule. Not sure of the order but it looks something like this: Alcoa, CAK, Kingston, Scott, Loudon, LA, CCHS, Grundy, York, ?.

Any changes in coaching at CCHS?

Coach Davis, Goss and Raper have stepped down at Stone, so the hunt is on for a new staff. Hanlon is the only one from last year staying on, so far. Not sure if they will stay in county or try to hire from the outside. We should know in a few weeks what the plan is going to be.

Good Luck to CCHS and SMHS!!

  5. I had forgot that stone played a Jv schedule the first year, 06 I believe. So this means that stone has not won a varsity game except against the other team from Cumberland County, and the whole county has only won one game outside of cumberland county in 3 years. So the county record for the last 3 years is 2 and 46 going into this game. WOW!!. What needs to be done to fix this problem. I haven't seen them play this year, but I have checked some stats for the last couple of years. CCHS closest score is 14 points for the last 3 yrs. except for the win against White. IS the talent that low or just not very physical or what, Are they prepared, is there an off-season program. Stone is getting outscored about 6 to 42. CCHS statistically is playing better defense but has a hard time scoring as well. In the late 70's and early 80's CCHS was always very physical.(moved and haven't been able to see them play very much). Is that not the case anymore for the kids from Cumberland County?

    Just going by stats

    CCHS 21,

    Stone 7

Yes Stone played a JV schedule, a first year team with no Seniors. The season did not go into all record books, but some of the games did, the ones against the private schools. I have reviewed 2006 and Stone played 6 JV games and 4 Varsity games.

    Kingston-jv-W

    DCA-Varsity-L

Sequoyah-not sure so we will say jv- W

    Cumberland Co.- Varsity- W

    Mid. TN Christian- Varsity- W

    Scott Co. -JV - W

    Cookeville- jv- L

    Warren Co.-jv-W

East Ridge- not sure, so will say jv-W

    Community HS- Varsity-W

The first real Varsity year started off terrible for Stone, leading rusher can not return (grades), QB out broken collarbone in the last scrimmage, Middle LB at about 75% with ankle injury all season ( missed two games), FB at about 75% with bad ankles all season and the list went on. I really thought the this team would be 5-5 or 6-5 in the first year, but we went 1-9 with several very close games. This team has two boys playing in college, one at Methodist in Fayetteville, NC and one at Samford in Birmingham, AL.

This team has talent. I think they are lacking discipline, from the weight room to the way they approach the game.

    Coaching? Everone has their opinion.

I have lost touch with CCHS, but have heard that they have improved.

This year, I just do not know who will win, I think it will be a close game. I is just a shame that the season opener gets moved to the "it does not count" column because for what the school board did by not opening schools on time.

  6. Ive heard rumor that coach davis is steping down at the end of the season any truth to this

Just Rumors!! I have heard that Tony is leaving CCHS, again just rumors. Any time a team struggles the coaching staff is on the Hot Seat. This is not college or the pros where coachs can recruit and make the big bucks! Parents get mad, players get upset, but I promise that on Friday night every Coach and player wants a win. Everyone should support their program, If you have a talent voulunteer you time and services. Some of the teams we have played have a video team (5 or 6 people) and they can review tape on the spot. We have one. Some put 4-6 people up in the box. We have two. Now for the good news, the JV team beat White Co. JV 14-0 this past Monday night. The offense is starting to gel and the defense looked solid.

I think the LA/SMHS game will be similar to last year's game, who ever scores last wins.

  7. Evan Sanders-Stone Memorial/ Knox Catholic

Evan is an excellent Punter and Kicker, one of the best in East Tennessee. He puts the kick off in the end zone about 90% of the time and has the ability to angle his punts out of bounds. I have seen him put many teams inside the 10 after a punt. He is D1 material!

  8. Can't help myself. I have no life outside of football.

But hey, since you wanna call me out Ben Dodd, you should probably stop bragging about yourself and your big hits.

Evan, keep in touch, play hard. I went to Watch the Samford vs App State game this weekend. They have redshirted Zach, but he still gets to stand on the sideline. Friday nights game was a tough loss, would have been for either side since both had no wins. We hope things will get better! Maybe next year!

    SEE YA!

  9. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> ...... #33 are you on here trying to make yourself sound good for one hit you made? Lets talk about how many times the secondary got burned all night by our passing game..... Except the tipped ball that was INT.....
