  1. Who wins this match up....Stone Memorial or Sunbright? It is Stone's homecoming...will Sunbright spoil it for the panthers?
  2. Exciting game with a wild finish! Coach Davis is 4 and 0....Coach Shultz is 0 and 4...and Watt is 0 and 2. I hated to call it a Jets win...but what can I say?
  3. Coach Davis sit out last year...now he is back with cchs. If cchs wins tonight Coach Davis will have never lost to the school accross town and Coach Shultz will not have ever beat the team accross town. Just a bit of Cumberland Co. football trivia.
  4. My not count for you...but tony brought the varsity to play a jv game...and still lost. Marty was 2 and 0 against cchs...watt will be 0 and 2.
  5. last year you played only one side of the ball. The best players stood on the sideline. In high school you put the BEST players on the field and if you have to play both sides you play both side. I think this year will be better than last, but the next should be the year Stone will make a name for itself
  6. I heard today that coach Shultz was in the Stone weight room and that he will be the new line coach at Stone. Also heard that Coach Zazorro will be the new DC at Stone. Times are a-changing! and only 4 1/2 more months til spring!
  7. Rumor mill is saying that Rocky Zazarro has put in his notice at the Phoenix school and that he will be named the new Football Coach at CCHS. I like Coach Watt for SMHS!! He coached my other son at CCHS and did a fine job. 4 months until spring!!
  8. The Road Runner wings at Austin East........Fried or Smoked!
  9. Stone Memorial's coaching staff has stepped down. Head Coach Davis and coach's Goss and Raper have decided not to coach next season. The hunt for a new staff has already started. The only question is will the school hire from with in the county or will it look for someone from the outside. We should know in a few weeks what the decision will be. The only one staying is the DC Coach Hanlon. I am not sure about our volunteer coaches. Good Luck to Coach Davis and the other coach's.
  10. I have not heard, but I have seen the Stone 09 schedule. Not sure of the order but it looks something like this: Alcoa, CAK, Kingston, Scott, Loudon, LA, CCHS, Grundy, York, ?. Any changes in coaching at CCHS? Coach Davis, Goss and Raper have stepped down at Stone, so the hunt is on for a new staff. Hanlon is the only one from last year staying on, so far. Not sure if they will stay in county or try to hire from the outside. We should know in a few weeks what the plan is going to be. Good Luck to CCHS and SMHS!!
  11. I was told last night that Head Coach Davis and front line Coach Goss have stepped down and will not coach next. No names for the Head Coach position. Both are fine men and we wish them the best of luck!
  12. Excellent Idea!! Someone should try and put it together, and a Saturday is the day to have it.
  13. Yes Stone played a JV schedule, a first year team with no Seniors. The season did not go into all record books, but some of the games did, the ones against the private schools. I have reviewed 2006 and Stone played 6 JV games and 4 Varsity games. Kingston-jv-W DCA-Varsity-L Sequoyah-not sure so we will say jv- W Cumberland Co.- Varsity- W Mid. TN Christian- Varsity- W Scott Co. -JV - W Cookeville- jv- L Warren Co.-jv-W East Ridge- not sure, so will say jv-W Community HS- Varsity-W The first real Varsity year started off terrible for Stone, leading rusher can not return (grades), QB out broken collarbone in the last scrimmage, Middle LB at about 75% with ankle injury all season ( missed two games), FB at about 75% with bad ankles all season and the list went on. I really thought the this team would be 5-5 or 6-5 in the first year, but we went 1-9 with several very close games. This team has two boys playing in college, one at Methodist in Fayetteville, NC and one at Samford in Birmingham, AL. This team has talent. I think they are lacking discipline, from the weight room to the way they approach the game. Coaching? Everone has their opinion. I have lost touch with CCHS, but have heard that they have improved. This year, I just do not know who will win, I think it will be a close game. I is just a shame that the season opener gets moved to the "it does not count" column because for what the school board did by not opening schools on time.
