  1. Admittedly things are looking good so far this year. I’ve seen 4 of the 6 teams live so far and I do think that Richland has a shot to be at or near the top at the end. However lets not forget that we are 2-0 against the two 0-2 region teams. Still can’t understand Mt P playing Columbia Central right in the middle of the region schedule  . Didn’t know they had an injury Friday but I do hope the young man is back soon. I think the physical play of the Raiders will be something that’s hard for the Tigers to endure for 4 qtrs.

Loretto will be tough if they have time to throw the ball down the field

no clue yet what to expect for Forrest, they seem to have a different mind set every week..

Richland Qb was pretty flawless…Richland play calling was superior… Athlete’s were even…Cascade is down to maybe 4 dawgs on D-#4, #7, Kinda #’s 3 & 21 whereas Richland had about 8 players that wanted to hit somebody…#21 for Cascade had a big 1st half and then barely had his # called in the 2nd half—#5 isn’t playing D and #7 barely plays Offense-inexplicable for the best athletes on a 2a school not to play both ways

So simple to hike the ball and throw it immediately  to a playmaker-The Qb is too short to see over the line—he needs to be rolling out to his strong side

#15 runs hard downhill but too often they have him running outside

Cascade experimented with a new defensive formation 2nite-was a disaster—Defense had mostly looked strong this season so not sure why they thought to mix things up…

Would have to agree with most of this. I thought Cascade looked good in the 1st half just couldn’t overcome turnovers. The fumble return for the score was a huge momentum swing . I’d say #5 was possibly the best athlete on the field but #13 for Richland proved to be the better tonight. Richland didn’t do much wrong in the 2nd half . Pitched the shutout and moved the ball in multiple ways. With wins next week (hopefully) it sets up a huge game in 2 weeks with Mt P.. Still don’t know how good we are but we are definitely better than the credit we get on here.

  3. Have they started a #firewaddell yet ? Tough loss tonight to a good team. I really thought from watching last years team that this may be the year for these kids . Now I’m wondering if they even make a playoff spot. City and MC are clear front runners in this region only leaving 2 more playoff spots. Can the dawgs grab one ? Don’t know much about the other teams

so other than conditioning and finishing strong, cornersville was elite, sounds like...

Elite would be a stretch . They looked above average in the first half against the run. Not great against the pass.. They ran it well and threw well when needed. I just don’t think in my years I’ve ever seen a team give out like that. I realize the roster is down and more kids are playing both ways but that’s why you train harder ..

Hopefully coach can get them right. There is only one way to go and that is up! I don’t care how sore they are they should be running sprints until the game next Friday. I don’t think play calling was much of a issue last night or the defense but they was out of shape BAD.

I thought the X’s And O’s looked pretty good for yall.. Just too painfully obvious on the lack of conditioning from about mid 3rd on. Hope they can turn it around quick for the boys sake. I enjoy rooting for some of those great kids.

  6. Conditioning was the difference. Franklin  was a beast early on. I think he ran it once or twice in the 4th and I heard the comment from a guy beside me “ he’s done “.. and he was. Not a knock on the kid at all but someone didn’t have them prepared physically . 6 plays in a row late in the game Corn had players helped off for cramps or injuries.. That’s gotta be on the coaching staff.. And you can’t fix it In a week .,

Definitely neat seeing a small school like Santa Fe have a strong class of kids come through and creat excitement for the community. They haven't been anywhere near relevant since I was in school nearly two decades ago.

Hope they can pull it out also.. as well as Richland.. Be nice to see two teams for our district represent at state. I think playing at home gives them a huge advantage . I suspect it’ll be sold out and rowdy.. Good luck from a Raider dad

The two Region 5/6 matchups should probably be interesting games. I don't expect any of the 4 games in the East being  close, honestly.

Was expecting these matchups, just at different locations . I def think playing at home gives Santa Fe an edge, just not sure it’s enough. The Richland / McKenzie game seems to be about even with similar styles. I give Richland the edge purely on defense.

Kudos to Richland for being able to reload every year and grabbing Cornersville kids every year also. Good to see

Somehow this seems to happen in small communities , always has and probably always will. It’s not “here” exclusively . And it goes both ways.. for example, just between the two schools mentioned .. Richland has 2 players that played middle school at Cville.. ones a senior who’s dad left as coach so he changed schools, the other is currently in 8th grade. Cville has 2 freshmen (one starter) that currently live in richlands district and go to Cville on out of county waiver. Look at the girls roster and see how many played at Richland middle and now play for Cville.. I don’t like it or agree with it , but to call out a coach saying he’s talking to parents to get kids to come play seems a bit over the top for me. I mean let’s just call it what it is, if you’re a hs football player living in that area and can go to either school it would make since to me where that kid ends up playing HS ball .  No difference with basketball . If that is the kids sport and he can move legally it seems to be the same.. it’s the ones that leave after 2 or 3 years at a particular HS I don’t understand .

Reload ? The 2 seniors are 4 year players, the one junior has been there since middle school.. the 2 sophomores are both 2 year players.. the entire freshmen class have been there since elementary .. I doubt either team needs bulletin board material for this game..
