  1. does anybody know if there is a 2nd team and honorable mention for all state? if so who made it?
  2. just to let you guys know-all region is directly related to how well the team did in the region-the team who won the region gets the most votes as to who should be on the team-and the team with the worst record gets the leat amount of votes-also, if a coach gets beat by a team, he will usually throw a couple votes to players they have, because they obviously had something going for them-but i do know for a fact that the votes are directly related to you region ranking
  3. just as any all-star list,on any leval, many people are on there that arent deserving and many people are left off that are deserving-congrats to the people who made it and i hope that it helps to bring you sucess in the future-to all those left off that should not have been-try using it as incentive to work that much harder at the next level-in my experience thats all you can do
  4. i think alex holling and norfleet are both good football players however i dont think either are on the all state leval-holling is a very fast very quick tail back-ive seen him run drills up at western while on recruiting trips-however his a small kid and i think their are other tail backs in our region and many others in our state with the same speed a quickness with the size to go with it-i don thave alot to say about norfleet-it just seems that other than his great size-he doesnt seem to have the same raw ability as others in the region-he also played on a D that was at best the 3rd best in the region-others played D on teamas where tackles were much harder to come by
  5. who are the players who should atleast be considered for all-state 1st and 2nd team and honorable mention position by position?
  6. there sure was alot of good defense played this year-does anybody have an opinion about who had the best d?
  7. like i said im not going to have a whole lot more to say about this subject-all the information i have posted that is not of my own experience-is information that has been given to me from former or current BA football players and other athletes-i never said that BA goes as far as offering jobs to paretns or handing out concrete benefits-what i am saying is that BA does as much as they possibly can to influence the desicion that a athlete makes-phone calls and conversation is common ground-and as far as my comment about Tyree earlier-that was un-called for and i apologize- yes i have met tyree-the point i am trying to make is that the reason he is going to BA for next to free has nothing to do with acedemics(that you can figure out just be having a talk with the 19 year old senior)-once again im not saying that BA is buying their athletes cars-im saying that they are recruiting-once again, im not appose to the fact that they do it-it is their right and in my opinion just increases competitiveness of D2 football-and for that matter the intensity of when D1 and D2 teams play-im just saying you would be in denial if u truely believe that they dont recruit-in fact just from talking with the athletes from BA and hearing their position on the subject-i was suprised to hear that there are people who still believe that the recruiting doesnt go on
  8. thats just not the story that the harrison's have told me everytime the subject has come up-i have been close with austin since i was in the 3rd grade-and ive known Corey and Ricky through Austin just as long-yes the fact that Austin went to CPA had to do with soured relationships with BA-more specifically Carlton Flatt-i could be wrong however ive known them for a long time and the story has never changed-and corery's career was not great because he got replaced-he was a phenomenal athlete-i believe when he was in his last year of middle school he jumped the pit in the long jump did he not?
  9. Your welcome to call me a dreamer to think I was or am talented enough for BA to recruit me (as donathan said enough of the area sports writers thought I was talented enough to make the 1st team all Williamson county team, that includes BA btw, and enough coaches though I was talented enough to make the 1st team all region) Your also welcome to call me an idiot ( I have a 28 on my act and am currently being recruited by Harvard). But despite all your name calling it does not change the fact that just because your son or daughter wasn’t athletically talented enough to be recruited by BA, it doesn’t mean that those who are don’t get recruited. Though you seem to have a brilliant argument, “LOL” ( I hope I quoted you right you know im not that smart) that doesn’t change a whole lot. There is a reason that most of the arguing about this is being done by parents who don’t have athletes playing at BA who aren’t paying for BA. It is a wonder that the parents of those kids don’t have much to say. Why is that? They know the truth. Not to sound like a broken record but there is a reason that Ford, the tremendous athlete that can barely spell his name, is going to BA for next to free. And there is a reason that Austin Harrison ended up at CPA when Corey had such a great BA career (after Corey was replaced by another talented back they took away his scholarship). This will be my last post on the subject due to the fact that its hard to argue against the BA education system at work ( “that’s not true” “you’re a joke” and lets not forget “LOL”). I don’t think its any wonder that our country is in such turmoil with a generation of adults so blinded by their own pride that they cannot see whats right in frount of them. Thanks for the stimulating convo.
  10. Pardon the misprint-my friend played baseball at BA not franklin-and your welcome to call my post a joke-at the end of the say that is the only responce that might make you sound inteligent-cine the rest of your arguments seem to be "NU UH! THATS NOT TRUE! WE DONT RECRUIT!! JUST ASK ANYBODY WHOS ON OUR SIDE!!"
  11. your welcome to think whatever you want-the fact is i know what i know-including the fact that i have a close friend who in his senior year decided not to play baseball for franklin anymore-and was warned if he quit playing baseball his financial aid woudl be revoked-and no the average BA MIDDLE SCHOOL student might say they dont recruit-but yes most of the players for the current team woudl admit to the fact that recruiting does go on at ba-i just dont understand why you are so reluctant to admit it
  12. also in responce to the D2 will co rivalry-i think that if it were to acure later in the year that the will co team would have a much better chance of being competitive-ba is a powerhouse and always will be-they bring in great athletes year after year-only on be could tyree ford be considered a back-up- even after th eloss of so many seniors, and even with the loss of carlton flatt if he does decide to leave, BA will be one of the best teams in the state-and only will only lose to the best teams in the state-however i think franklin, ravenwood, and indy will all have alot of talen next year- franklin, other than frohock, is not losing any major offensive threats-indy was stacked with juniors-and ravenwood will always have a chance with becker playing
  13. i have many friends at BA and back when i was a middle schoolar constantly visited the school-as a 5'8" 6th grader i could not enter the area of brentwood without a BA coach coming to me and asking things such as "how old are you"-"what position do you play"-"what is your favorite lift"- as well as recieving calls from BA alum and coaches several times during the application process-not to mention every time i played a team with somebody from BA on the apposing team-the parents would pitch BA in all its prestige-after i took the test to get into BA i was told that i really didnt do that great on it-however if i decided to go to the school i woudl be attending it for next to nothing-im not complaining about BA recruiting-and it bothers me when others do-however it also bothers me when the overly proud parents of BA students refuse to open their eyes and recognize that yes BA does recruit the people like David Harrison,Corey Harrison, Brandon Wright, David Folbert, and Tyree Ford, its just the way it is. and its not like BA is th eonly one-the current head caoch of BGA, tim johnson, and his offensive cordinator were at every one of grassland middle schools games recruiting GMS's quarter back and running back-when i was in 8th grade CPA also recruited myself and austin harrison-we were given a private tour of the school by caoch pac-i could be wrong but i dont either of the 3 schools treated any of their achedemic wonders with this kind of treatment prior to attending
  14. in responce to the BA recruinting issue-It would be a joke to act as if BA does not recruit some of its athletes. any former athlete of BA will tell you that that is exactly is what goes on. Not only does tyree ford live in antioch-but i myself was "recruited" by BA-that being said, that is the reason they play other teams that are capable of recruiting-the fact that they do it better or on a higher leval than other teams is because BA is dedicated to keeping their football team a powerhouse-Yes they do recruit but so what?
  15. The fact that I did end up making some all star teams will help but it will always be hard for a 5’10” white guy to get many looks. That being said yes I have received letters (though letters don’t mean a whole lot) from around 20 D1-D1-AA schools. At this point Fro and I are both looking very hard at western KY(who I believe is moving up to D1 next year) and I’m looking at Harvard. Both of us are keeping our options open and neither of us have been offered any full rides thus far. We will both be sending out tape in the next couple weeks to several schools. I haven’t completely looked over trying to perhaps walk on at some of the bigger schools I have received (such as UK ,Bama, Hawaii, Southern Miss, ect.) and I believe Josh is doing the same. Thanks for you interest.
