  1. Who cares how they acted on Stump. They are in high school of course they might act immature, but you know they are aloud to do so they are tennagers. You say their parents are to blame??? Dude you have no idea what your talking about.. Ya maybe something have to do with parents, but getting on T.V. can be exciting and they were just acting on the moment. You arent their parents so quit judging how they act its none of your business. And if you guys have any children i can garuntee they do not act the way you think they do when your not around. If it was CNN or CBS i could see what your saying maybe, but good god it was STUMP ON SPORTS (A.K.A. RED NECK broadcasting)!!!

  2. They haven't lost alot of sophmores this year because several of them are starting. I don't agree with you OWLPRIDE but I never do. Do you have a kid playing on the JV? just wondering.

Well when i was a freshman and played on the freshman team the next year i think we lost ten of our starters if not more... But hey how is this Hubbard kid for Ooltewah doin? i remember watching him play at Hunter he was the real deal. He returned punts for them last year but seemed to be a lil scared which is normal because he was like 14.. Hows his offseason been goin? He was the fastest kid to ever go through Hunter Middle besided Eric Oliver.

  3. im 20... i havent read this whole thread, but he really told you that you are too short? Ryan dude i am just on here trying to stir things up it kinda gets me excited about the season. I played with you and YES i PLAYED with you actually PLAYED and i thought you were pretty good. 2seamedfastball or whatever is just retarded and i like making him mad... Hunter as well... he is short but hey yall were perty good...

  4. Here we go adain,(by name) knocking a kid on here!!!! If there good enuf he ll play them. we all jknow we dont play midgets in football, but who cares if somebody got picked on as long as he played he must have been good enuf to play for the biggest school in chattanooga and i find it hard to believe that there was no one else to play that position out of all those kids up there. if your not the coach you cant decide who plays anyway so it dont matter what you think at the db position. just out of curiosity were you on the BENCH getting made fun of, or playing? must be able to hear alot from the sidelines, huh!!

they are both out of high school they can handle it... i wasnt tryin to down them or anything, but i like the popcorn thingy that was pretty funny but no i was actually handing them water i got cut from the team i wasnt even good enough to sit on the sidelines!

  5. Hunter and Ryan are both great at sports and do both have great speed which is needed at the DB position, but yes height is also needed and to we honest with you i never saw why Ryan started at DB. Hunter played becasue we had noone else to put there and he was a great tackler but he did get picked on a lot

That was the post of the year, Stokomo. I'm glad you got it in before this thread was closed, which inevitably it will.

Coach Baker told the news yesterday, "I went into the locker room after the game (losing to Red Bank 61-47) and was going to tell my kids I was proud of how hard they played and how I would rather coach them than Red Bank. I'm glad you played with class and not like n_____s."

Just goes to show you can coach for 30-plus years, win more than 500 games and still not have good common sense. I admire Ooltewah principal Ed Foster for his quick, decisive, correct action in dismissing this guy. Hopefully the county superintendent will follow suit and remove him from his teaching job (PE) as well. We need more GOOD role models in our schools, not people like this.

In the Bible people who commited adultery would get stoned, a women confessed to Jesus of her sins she had commited and he took her to a crowd and told her to confess but she was scared and he told her it would be okay, so she confessed and before they threw stones Jesus said let the first man throw a stone who has not sinned!!!

All of you guys should read this its not word for word!! Take a look my freinds you might think twice b4 you start bashing Coach Baker!

  7. Look i played for Coach Baker 2 years ago and i am black and i know coach baker isnt rascist i know he shouldnt have said what he said but all you people on this post i can almost garuntee you have said the word he is just the only one hte has the balls to say it in public! The that was on cnn that played for Ooltewah said he said the"n" word or whatever needs to man up and say it on tv acting like he was scared to say it knowing good and well he says it everyday all the time and dont give me that crap about puttin er on the end cause you would whine the same way if he put a ( A ) at the end, and the dad that got on there and said my son cant go to high school without being called that well i dont beleive he was calling your son that he was calling ALL the players from Red Bank that! Coach Baker used to come pick me up and take me to pratice all the time when my parents wouldnt! All you guys blow this way out of praportion and need to get over the whole thing just because a white dude says the n word doesnt mean hes rascist and thinks that about everyone of us... i said the "n" word cause i dont want to get kicked off coach t! Baker u got my back and my families back.

As an black man and someone who is over 35 years old, there is only one application when that word is used. I believe that the team that it was being referred to was of black kids. You can sugarcoat and try to overlook it any way that helps you sleep at night but if that had been my son's coach......

    One word for you! OPINION!

  9. Like I mentioned earlier, I'm not going to argue whether the flag should have been thrown or not.

I'm just saying, by rule, the player can be considered guilty of unsportsmanlike conduct. In case book, raising the football briefly after reaching the end zone -- as the player did -- is not a penalty. However, when player raises both arms like he did, then he can be considered bringing attention to himself. If you notice, this is when the back judge reaches for the flag.

Speaking of rule, here's what it says:

Rule 9-5-1c: No player shall act in an unsportsmanlike manner once the officials assume authority for the contest. Examples are, but not limited to: © Any delayed, excessive or prolonged act by which a player attempts to focus attention upon himself.

So your saying what he did was bringing attention to himself? Please tell me you are just kidding. I am sorry buddy but you must not have ever played football or you are just the most ignorant person to ever watch football next to that ref that threw the flag when it comes to football. Any of your actions after you score a touchdown can be bringing attention to yourself if putting your arms over your head is considered that, but hey you have your own opinion.

  10. Here we go again about winning the big one

Central needs to play with heart and not on their sleeves. They have athletes year in and out but IMHO they get polluted minds by those who what to play the game their way and not the coaches way they are more worried about the name on the back of their jersey rather than playing as a team. as the saying goes great offense score points but great defense wins championships the same goes with individuals they make plays but a team wins the game. Central needs to develop a family relationship with one another and push each other to the next level but this will not happen if the leadership and role models of the upperclassmen do not set good examples for those who will fill their shoes in the future. Lead by example and great things will follow. Go Owls!

I agree with you about the relationship! I hang out with a some of the players that were on the 03 team and they had and some still have a great relationship with one another, but being more serious than my last post; which i was just joking with someone, but yes Central does have some good athletes and i would love to see them to start competting again i know that i lived right behind Central and i was one of those guys that went to Ooltewah, but can you blame me?

  11. Central has athletes but use them wrong. When they have 2 guys who are 6'2 260+ out wide at wide receiver something is wrong. They are athletic big guys but why are they wide outs? The tailback is 250+ pounds and it set 10 yards deep in their I formation. Why? He is way to slow to be set way back there. Half the time Central's players were out of position or to confused to make the play. Ask the coaches at Ooltewah, Central has athletes but has yet to do anything with them.

Is that the reason they are so good at basketball baseball soccer and all the other sports??? Im tellin ya man the athletes over there on hwy 58 are just flowing!!! ya ill ask the coaches and they will prolly tell me that they do have some but thats just because they are being nice!Ill ask coach Smith Jr. and he will tell me the truth! ill get back to ya on that one! They have Bartley Moyers!

  12. Region 4 and 6 are undoubtably the best. No disrespect to Ootlewah, you guys earned my respect for East Tennessee. Riverdale-- stop whining, you lost, its over. However for someone to say that Ootlewah, William Blount, and Dobyns Bennett beat up on each other and thats why you didn't win in the playoffs, get a clue. Look at Smyrna and Riverdales schedules, region opponents and non region, all were solid if not great teams. Riverdale played McCallie, Lincoln County, and Dickson County. Smyrna played Brentwood, Ravenwood, and Columbia. Now Smyrna lost 49-0, then won 9-7. That shows in Region 4 anyone can win on any day. You have to play every game. We didnt play the first game, we got killed. We stepped up and played the second time and won. Also three teams from Region 4 have won a State Championship in the last ten years. Region 6 also has two teams that have won the gold ball in the last ten years. Brentwood Academy won it when they were part of 5A too. So if you want to compare to the SEC, Region 4 or 6 should definately be the ones who "beat up on each other," and yet we still find ways to win. Now, back to the subject of this. The team(s) to beat next year will be:

Smyrna - We are defending State Champions first of all. Second, we are returning several starters and key playmakers. Most of the backups who will play next year started at least one game and got significant playing time.

Ootlewah - They only lost by 3 in the Semifinals in a game that went down to literally the last second. They are also returning 15 starters.

Riverdale - They are always good even if it's supposed to be a rebuliding year. The Wing-T, when run right, is very hard to stop.

White Station - Not sure again, but they are all the hype according to West Tennesseans.

lol why do all you guys from yalls area have these referings like the past 10 years or the past 6 years. Go to the library and look back about 50 years up to now and see who has dominated who. This really has nothing to do with this topic but if we had a top 5 best teams ever in Tennessee the top two would be from Chattanooga and possibly top 3! But ya do that research and get back to me alright! Ill wait for you and dont try to lie either because i know the facts i jsut want you to get some info on this so u will know for yourself!
  13. Central has athletes. I felt they had better athletes than a couple of teams that Ooltewah has played. They are not well coached and that is the reason they are where they are. They have great size and speed but are not diciplined. If Central gets a good coach they will compete.

False! Soddy Daisy in my opinion has the best coach in the City and they have athletes but not football players and look how they did! High school is about 90 to 95% of the players the left overs is the coaching
  14. By rule, the call was correct. Rule states that player cannot do anything to bring attention to himself. When the player stretches out both arms, he's bringing attention to himself. NF Case Book says it's not a penalty for briefly raising ball above the player's head, which he did.

You can argue whether it was an appropriate call, but by rule it was the correct call.

I do not agree with you at all! Yes you cannot bring attnetion to yourself or whatever i know but show me in the room book where it says a player cannot get excited after making a score in the state championship game to tie the game and put his hands over his head!?!? Please show me! What does he have to do put his arms sdtraight down and jog to the side lines without any excitement!?!? Please man that call was way out of line i dont care what you say it was wrong wrong wrong! Even going by the rule book!

  15. That was on the local news up here quite a bit. Worst call I've seen since Florida got jobbed in Knoxville a couple years ago with the unsportsmanlike penalty.

THat wasnt a bad call at all! THe Flordia player deserved what he got and the Tennessee player jjust didnt get caught! Stuff like that happens all the time in games but not everytime they are going to get caught! That call that we are talking about on here tho was pretty crazy!
