  1. I am not sure about any assistant coach openings but i am pretty sure there arent going to be any openings for Head coach in Chattanooga, but Coach Weathers of Soddy Daisy probably wont be around much longer and if you had the chance to assist him that will always be a good learning experince no matter how good of a coach you are.. They are having a very bad year this year only winning one game and will probably lose next weeks game, but they are usually a very competitive school not only in Football but all other sports also! So you might want to check into that???

  2. Like Imaowl said i hope Ooltewah and Riverdale will meet i would love to see them play again... it would be a great game, but in my opinion i do beleive that if Ooltewah makes it to this game and so does D.B. i think thats going to be a even better game! In the last two years those two teams have meet in the 1st round and it was an all out "war"!!! I dont beleive Ooltewah had played a team all year that was as good or better than them and i think we will see that if they play D.B.

  3. are you sure, there was an article in the paper saying he was cut due to injury. i hope your right.

Riggs was cut but they keep him on the scout team or something like that i really do not know enough about it but i just know he practises with the team still and is pretty much there just to be a tackling dumby... If you think about it, he got money when from them and they arent just going to cut you and send you on your way and give you that money for nothing, but yes that was the last i heard about Riggs

  4. ok this pisses me off but everyone ahs their opinions. by big brother played on the redbank state team in 2001 so i went to all 15 undefeated games that year. gerald is and was the best player in chat town, and tn. thats why he won mr. footbal twice. i dont think he has a underachieved college career, just sad and dissappointing. if you remember the lsu game last year in overtime, they credit clausen for getting us the win, yet every play he handed it to riggs for probly the best performance hes ever made, hands down. riggs won that game for tn, clausen just held the ball instead of handing it to riggs for that 1 yard qb sneak for the td win. riggs did the work. he was also injured much of his time at ut due to an ankle injury originaly recieved his senior year of high school against rhea county in which a linebacker took a late hit and got away with it. i was there and saw the coach tell his boys to hurt him, and they ruined riggs footbal career for it. Riggs was the keystone to redbanks 15-0 state championship and 10th in teh nation ranking. but the team was not all riggs. riggs broke the old record and set teh new one that flannigan broke. but all ooltewah did was give it to flannigan, and it worked as teh records show. redbank actually averaged more pass offense than rush offense per game in 2001. if we gave it to riggs each time, no way flannigna wouldve broke it.i was at that ooltewah game flannigan played. was supposed to be showdown of the running backs. they said the rb defence was weak whilst ooltewah had the best in state, riggs walked all over the owls while i believe flannigan was held to under 25 yards on over 25 touches.

fact is riggs is the best offensive player i know of to come out of c town and tn, i hope he can get trained and healthy and try to get picked up free agent. dolphins should have never let him go.

all mine are pretty much redbank, thats what i know mostly so sorry, but they are some of the best

    top offense:

    1. riggs rb from Red Bank

    2. jim thurman te from Red Bank

    3. Flannigan rb from ooltewah

    4/5 the hixson bros

    defense

    1. Reggie White howard

    2. Ta-Ta Caldwell db for Red Bank (still plays, come watch him in playoffs)

    3. Brandon O'Neal lb from Red Bank (graduated last year, 3 all state and best of preps)

I agree with you, but Riggs is actually still with the Dolphins

  5. where did you play? My point is that if you play a certain position you can see the perfections versus the imperfections in a back that's why you usually coach the position you played and or most knowledgeable about.

I played at Ooltewah... If this is who i think this is i will give you some film so you can watch it and tell me really who the best back is.. But you know i would expect you to pick P just because you coached him but ask any other coach from a different team they will tell you who is better. i will go back and see maybe Riggs didnt carry out his fakes or what not..

  6. I had the privilege to coach Patrick and watched both of them play each year. Riggs was a great back but did not have the whole package as Flanagan did. Riggs pass blocking, heart and desire IMO were lacking but yes he had been blessed with an athletic gift but he never utilized that to its full potential. JMO

If it helps I was an RB/DB at OHS to help justify MO's.

I played for Ooltewah also... but that has nothing to do with this. For one hting how do you know what his full potential was??? You say he wasnt a good pass blocker but i think your just looking at his college years on that one, i have seen ever game he played in High school even when he was a freshman and his pass blocking never looked bad at all. He busted his butt in the weight room and on the Practise feild! He was dedicated and i do beleive that is have some heart and desire to be good, but you know that was all pointless because he was the Number 1 tailback in the nation and the #2 all around player and #3 recruited palyer in the nation but Patrick was a better running back i guess since who all wanted him?? who was his biggest recruiter?

  7. Flanagan was a hard nose runner, a 4.0 student, and has very religious values he was a great role model for all of us. If you have the career city rushing record and such leadership qualities as this young man has Patrick Flanagan belongs in the top 10. He was better than Gerald Riggs IMHO. The size difference played the significant roll in the two. If we measured the heart Patrick was an Giant. If you never watched him play the game you really missed out on this legend of the gridiron. Go Owl!

I never had the chance to meet Patrick but i heard he was a great kid with good religous veiws and not to mention very smart! If he was anything like his younger brother Kevin he is a great guy and i would have no problem with your opinion of putting him on the list thats fine he was an awsome player but to say he was a better running back than Gerald Riggs is going a little over board!! Im a big Ooltewah fan but i have to say that you are wrong on that! But thats your opinion.. i dont see how but whatever... you must not have seen Gerald play i guess or have something against him???

Please give some reason why he was better than Riggs?

  8. Marty Lowe is the quarterback you're thinking of, from Red Bank. Dee Parker, a tight end from Red Bank, was one of the best ever athletes from Chattanooga, but couldn't resist getting in trouble and likely is still in jail.

Dee Parker was a good football player but better at wrestling~ But yes that loser is still in jail and now he is fat! He is probable rapping men now but that is better than women!! I would never put him on this list just because he deserves no praise at all!

  9. nah dog, coleman-dozier beats any1 out there :D

Jeremy is a great QB but so is BJ i would probably take BJ over Jeremy but if i included the receivers i would take Jeremy and his clan over BJ`s just because Jeremy had a lot to look at not just one... Ooltewahs receivers are better than McCallies when you look at them at a whole
