  1. Well I think if either of these teams get behind by 12- 15 points at any time in the game that it will be extremely difficuly for either to come back due to both teams scoring pretty consistently. It will probably be a back and forth game which will cause fans to be nervous the entire game lol.
  2. Like I have said before yall are the favorites to win. You gotta beat the best to be the best.
  3. I am a Shelbyville supporter not a Columbia fan. I think Oakland can beat Columbia due to their defense and coaching along with other players stepping up. Heck you picked Cookeville to beat Shelbyville because they only lost to you guys by two the last time you two played lol. I am not guaranteeing a Shelbyville win by any means but they certainly have the personnel to play with and beat Siegel. I was wrong last year and could be again who knows??? For you to say Columbia is overrated though and has no defense and is not athletic has been proved wrong on more than one occassion thus far. If Columbia is not athletic enough to play with any of these teams then I give up on trying to convince you otherwise but respectfully disagree. Both games should be great games IMO.
  4. He is listed as 6'6" but I think that is a little fabriated. Hopefully Shelbyville will give Siegel a much better game than last year. Just glad to see them were they are thus far with the adversity they have had to overcome recently. Siegel is the favorite no doubt about it. I hope Shelbyville can stay with them until the end with an opprotunity to win.
  5. Yet Shelbyville did not have their starting Center in that game lol. Should be a great game. Good luck to all teams. Go Eagles /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  6. LOL well I dont like playing the point game either but since you joined in I will too lol. Shelbyville beat Cookeville by 17 without their starting PG. See ya Tuesday... Go Eagles /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  7. Congrats to all four winners last night also, congrats to Cookeville, Lebanon, Franklin County, and Lawrence County on successful seasons this year. Well as I guessed, not that it was difficult to pick the top two seeds from each district but it is going to be an outstanding semi finals at Blackman on Tuesday night. Shelbyville and Cookeville was a great game to watch last night as Cookeville was on fire in the first half shooting and Shelbyville was trailing by four at the half. Midway through the third quarter Andrews connected on three three pointers and a dunk in about a two minute span to take over the momentum of the game. Andrews scored 26 and sophmore Bobby Wilson added 24. Wilson converted on 3 of four and one plays as part of his 24. He was a huge factor in Shelbyville taking control in the second half. The crowd starting chanting "Twilleys Back" the last 2-3 minutes of the game and they seem very focused and ready for the challenge of taking on Siegel. Seth Jarrel had atleast four blocks and had nine points and numreous rebounds. The whole team played excellent in the second half scoring 31 points in the fourth quarter alone. Having Twilley back and Wilson, Jarrell and the rest of the team playing better each game only adds to what the combo of what Twilley and Andrews bring to the table. I look for this to be a great game as well as the Oakland Columbia game. I have to go with the homer pick and take Shelbyville and Oakland as the two that will advance to th finals. Siegel is certainly the favorite and Shelbyville will have to play the best game they have played all year to advance. Having Twilley back after the suspension may be the best thing for the team and him as well as how hard, focused, and determined they will play. Good luck to all four teams Tuesday. I am sure I am one of very few who thinks Shelbyville will beat Siegel though lol.
  8. I wish they would play them all on Sat at the same place starting at noon or 1 thats just me though.
  9. Well since you have seen Cookeville play twice and your team is more prepared for them it would be in your teams best interest if Cookeville beat Shelbyville. I hope I am right when saying this, Shelbyville and Siegel will play each other on Tuesday night.. Good luck to all teams from region 4AAA.
  10. I agree with you on what you said about Andrews having to play out of position but I dont think you are accurate on Columbia having zero defense. Dont get me wrong their defense is no where as good as Oaklands but they get after it and can play defense. Columbia and Oakland will be a close game if both teams advance. I say close as in less than 10 points. I know to some that may not be a small margin but teams can go on a 10-0 ruin in two minutes so anything less than 10 is a small score IMO.
  11. What, I have mentioned it numerous times on this thread and the region 4AAA thread that Twilley will be missing. Shelbyville will have to play tremendous defense tommorrow night without Twilley to make up for his offensive passing and scoring ability. Twilley has evolved this year into a good scorer rather than just a pg who passes unbeleivable. I have seen numerous teams leave Twilley open when he brings the ball down due to being concerned with Andrews and he has had many mid to hig double figure scoring nights also. The two complement eachother extremely well. I hope Shelbyville advances to Tuesday night so he can play atleast one more game in his HS career. Also if they do advance you will not see a better rebounding point guard at his small height in middle Tennessee. It is amazing how he goes inside and somehow pulls out rebounds on kids a foot taller than him.
  12. LOL... I agree hopefully he does have a better inside game, but I promise you this Andrews can take it to the inside as well as shoot from outside. He is a threat from anywhere on the offensive side of the court.
  13. The do not have their starting PG..... When someone who has started over 100 plus games for your school and they are suspended things in your strategy and starting lineup change. When Twilley is out there Shelbyville has one of the top defenses in the mid state. Also I would hope that Kerry can shoot over Emanuel since he is taller and also a Mr. Basketball finalist. I have said it in my first post Siegel is the favorite to win the regional tourney. Hopefully Shelbyville will beat Cookeville so they have a shot to knock off Siegel in the semi finals.
  14. They are tall maybe not compared to Siegels height. You can be long in other ways besides height. They will be tough to beat and you have to get it inside before you can go inside all day. If you are 6'3'' or 6'4'' and can jump out of the gym you are long. Columbia is a very fast team. I am not saying they will beat Oakland but it will be a very close game.
  15. I agree 100% but Shelbyville's defense will keep them in the game at all times unless Cookeville shoots lights out. Andrews can carry the scoring load as long as the other players are able to score as well. Should be a great game and I hope Twilley gets a shot to play again on Tuesday night. Shelbyville had a shot at coming from 17 behind against Columbia but they had 8 threes and shot 10 of 13 from the line on Tuesday night.
  16. No need to be sorry Swami your entitled to your opinion. Look on the bright side after saturday night you will have an overall record of 57-7. That is a great record and on top of it you will still have single digits in the loss column of your record. Keep up the good work Swami.
  17. Here ya go bro. Also they are probably the deepest team as far as total players they sub in and out in the region. 5 Marsales Whitaker PG 5'9 150 Sr. 10 James English PG 5-9 145 Jr. 12 Dre Crutcher PF 6'1 195 Jr. 14 Davonta Hamlett PF/SF 6'4 175 So. 20 Nathan Harlan SG 5'7 160 Jr. 21 Dominique Parks PF/SF 6'2 170 Jr. 22 Javoris Webster PF/C 6'3 175 Fr. 23 Shon Brown SG 5'11 230 Sr. 24 Gentry Gordon SG 5'9 165 Sr. 30 Tradarius Goff SF/SG 5'9 225 So. 33 Morty Robinson C/PF 6'2 185 Sr. 42 Jonathon Cooper SF/SG 6'1 185 Sr. 44 Zach Gaines C 6'4 250 Sr. I am not positive to which are the starting five game in and game out. I know Whitaker is the starting pg and Morty Robinson starts but I am not sure of anymore.
  18. Losing Twilley for yet another game will be very difficult for Shelbyville because Cookeville is a solid team. Top to bottom district 7AAA is a better district as far as matcups go. I think Shelbyville should still win with the talent they have and they are a quicker team than Cookeville. Andrews will be the difference maker Saturday night as if he shoots poorly they will be in trouble, but if you have kept up with him at all the last two years he does not have many bad nights. Last night he was double teamed all night and still managed to score 32 points. Seth Jerrell is a 6'4'' sophmore who continues to get better every time out on the court so his size down low will help out as well. Also Shelbyville plays great defense like Oakland and that keeps them in a position to win every night they step out on the court. I truly hope Coach Thomas has the boys ready to play so that we all get to watch four top notch teams battle it out on Tuesday night. Talk about getting your $6 dollars worth!!!!
  19. I am not on the team or a coach so i can look ahead to the Semi Final matchup all I please lol. I have been looking forward to it since Siegel beat Shelbyville last year. Good luck to the Eagles on Sat night.
  20. Doubtful but I guess anything can happen in the world of HS basketball.
  21. The last poster hit it on the head with the size of both teams. I would say Shelbyville can play with and beat Siegel since they only lost to them by three earlier in the season. I am not confident enough to say they will beat them but if Twilley and Andrews are on they will be in it at the end with as good of an opprotunity as Siegel to win the game. Shelbyville will have to shoot well outside and also rebound very well and not give Siegel second chance scoring opportunities. The first game should start at 6:00 or 6:30 not completely positive on the ezact time though. Games on Friday and Saturday night start at 7:00.
  22. Agreed Good luck Lady Falcons /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  23. Well the regional tournament is here once again and the favorite has to be Siegel coming into the tournament. The first round matchups are decent but the semi final games if everything plays out right will be unbeleivable IMO. The matchups are as followed... First Round Games are at the top two seeds in each district with the semi final games being played on Tuesday March 3rd at Blackman High School. #4 Lawrence County@ #1 Siegel #3 Franklin County @ #2 Oakland #3 Cookeville @ #2 Shelbyville #4 Lebanon @ #1 Columbia I think we will see all #1 & #2 seeds advancing to the semi finals but the toughest task will be for Shelbyville getting by Cookeville for a second time without their starting PG. Predictions for first round play. Siegel wins by 25 Oakland wins by 22 Shelbyville wins by 8 Columbia wins by 15 Good luck to ALL region 4AAA teams /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  24. If either district was to sweep it would be 7AAA but thats not happening. For those who say Columbia is overrated your misinformed imo and Shelbyville will hopefuilly beat Cookeville for the second time this season so Twilley gets another shot to play his senior year.
  25. LOL to be the best in the region you gotta beat the best. I want to see Shelbyville and Oakland in the finals so for that to happen Shelbyville will have to go through Siegel. I am sure Shelbyville welcomes the challenge to avenge last years put out by Siegel last year. Be careful what you wish for with the eagles and the Twilley and Andrews show lol... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
