  1. Wow are you serious lol. Well he will be more upset when they get put out by Oakland first round on Sat night...
  2. It is a shame that this happened. Not that individual awards are the most important thing in the world, but he deserved this award to himself and it is not even close to being a co mvp award this season. I hope they take it to Cookeville so Mr Twilley & Andrews gets another shot at Siegel in the semi finals. I think they will win Sat night but they will have to play well because Cookeville will not be a cake walk by any means.
  3. One word Politics. Its voted on by all coaches in the district.
  4. I am not saying it is not possible for them to make a run at the gold ball because after seeing Shelbyville take Memphis Hamilton to double OT after being down by 15 in the game anything is possible especially in basketball and when 15-18 years old kids are playing. I was just stating they are not the best team in the state. Whats your email I have a question for ya.
  5. LOL as much as I dislike Siegel I would be happy to see any region 4AAA team win the state title but their is no way that Siegel is anywhere as good as Bearden who played with in ten points of arguably the best team in the entire country in Oak Hill also I would go out on a limb and say that Melrose, Ridgeway, and White Station are better than Siegel. I know many will think I am Hating but its the truth. Siegel is one of the top 5-6 teams in the state but certainly not the best.
  6. Congrats to Siegel and Columbia for winning their respective district championships tonight. Tough loss for Shelbyville tonight not having Twilley seemed to be huge as Andrews had to carry the ball up alot tonight. Andrews was able to still score 32 despite being double teamed the majority of the night. Columbia was 10 of the 13 from the line and also had 8 treys. Columbia had a lead of as much as 17 points half way through the thrid quarter and the eagles battled back to cut it within two points with 4:00 min left in the fourth but ran out of gas and Columbia sealed off the win at the free throw line. Hats of to Columbia on the win. Shelbyville will have an extremely tough road with Twilley out and them having to face Cookeville although at home. The matchups look like this. Lebanon @ Columbia Cookeville@ Shelbyville Franklin Co @ Oakland Lawrence Co @ Siegel It will be a tough task now for Shelbyville since they will have to play Siegel in the semi finals if they get past Cookeville without Twilley. I still see the top two seeds from both districts advancing to next Tuesday at blackman for a great semi final round of basketball. Good luck to all of region 4.
  7. LOL Agreed /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> GO PATS!!!!
  8. Good Post /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  9. I was agreeing with you not sure why the statement was pointed at me????
  10. Andrews is the best player in the district hands down and Twilley is the best PG in the district. If you are correct about the coach voting Andrews the 15th best player then things need to be assessed differently.
  11. I used really in same term as you used. I am not trying to get into it with you. Columbia has shooters as well and if you guys beat Lebanon by 39 trust me Columbia is better than Lebanon overall. Siegel should beat Columbia but you know as well as I do any team can have an off night at any time and can be beat between these four teams.
  12. REALLY !!! I am not saying Columbia has as much talent as Siegel by any means but they can play and they are better than Cookeville or Lebanon for sure. Siegel is the best team in the region but any of the four teams that I think make it to the semis are capable of winning the regional title.
  13. I agree that it is better for Shelbyville to not face Siegel until the championship game but Oakland will not be a cake walk by any means either. Shelbyville will have to play extremely well against Cookeville or Lebanon without Twilley quarterbacking the offense. If Andrews has to run the point it will take away from him being an effective shooting guard. Shelbyville will have to handle Columbia's pressure and without Twilley that will be difficult not impossible. If Andrews plays like he usually does, they should be fine in both of the next two games. Columbia is not overrated from a aggressive stand point. They are fast and will run all day if you let them. I would love to see Columbia and Siegel play in the semi's because both seem to play with the same style on offense. It will be a great semi final if all four teams advance, and they should.
  14. It is an ejectable offense but in that case the LC player should of been ejected for bear hugging him and not letting go of him causing him to get him off of him. I am not defending what the PG did just think it was a quick decision by the ref that would have been handled with a technical by itself. The game was already getting out of hand earlier than that as well. Either way Shelbyville will have an uphill battle to make it to the regional semi- finals.
  15. The technical foul was warranted but the ejection was over the top. Tough loss for Shelbyville as far as not having Mr. Twilley for the next two games. Good luck against Columbia and in the first round of regions.
  16. Well now that everyone knows the teams that will make it to regions Tuesday night for both regions it will be exciting. On the 8AAA and of things it will be extremely difficult for Shelbyville to beat Columbia with out Twilley. I saw the game and the incident and I will leave it at this, Twilley deserved the T but not an ejection. This was the first time I saw Columbia and they are physical, good sized, and athletic. Looking at Shelbyville and Columbia size wise and how both are teams are made up starting five versus satrting five you would think Columbia would have the edge but with Shelbyville having the best PG and shooter in the district it makes them tough to defend. I would be surprised if Shelbyville wins on our end. I wonder how they will do versus Cookeville or Lebanon now as well. I do not see Sigel or Oakland having any problem with Lawrence County when it comes to how well both teams are. Franklin County is a dangerous team and I suspect they will beat LC tommorrow night. They have two quick guards, two big men and the PG and SG can hit the threes. LC is scrappy but they are not big enough to handle anyone with size down low. I still say it will be Siegel, Oakland, Shelbyville, and Columbia advancing to the semi finals of regions.
  17. I did come on here and say Shelbyville would beat Siegel last year and I was wrong. I stated that I ate my crow last year on about 10 pages ago on this thread so lets read up there Swami. Also I never stated Shelbyville was the best in the state even if I said they would beat Siegel. Shelbyville can play with Siegel and beat them if Andrews and Twilley play to their potential. I will say this Shelbyville and Oakland have the best defense of any of the other teams in this region and all I was saying was dont count out Shelbyville or Columbia and their "weak district". Oakland beat Siegel by 10 so that shows that Siegel can be beaten and if they dont bring their A-game and come out on the court thinking they will beat anyone they play then they will be watching the games at the glass house like everyone else. I appologize if I bother you or you feel I should not talk but I am not stating world dominance of Shelbyville just adding my two cents when certain posters come on here throwing out statements about teams and districts being weak yet numbers prove them wrong.
  18. Well I am sure you will enjoy putting another notch to your district, regional,ect... but you will not be putting a state title down so enjoy another year of getting to the state title possibly but no hardware to go with it. Siegel has to be the favorite from the region to go to states but I will guarantee they will not win the title. There are atleast three teams better than them White Station, Raleigh Egypt, and Bearden.
  19. Whats the prediction on how many Siegel posters will be around if they get knocked out of regions and do not advance to the sub state? I am not predicting this to happen but stranger things have happened. Hopefully for Siegel's team and coaches sake they do not overlook or belittle other teams like some of their posters do.
  20. Well since you berated people when they said Oakland would beat Siegel the last time they played and it ended up being true, I look forward to seeing if little ole Shelbyville and little ole Columbia can even score on Siegel. They probably dont even deserve to be in the same gym or play on the same floor as the great almighty Siegel. We will see how things play out next week. Good luck to Oakland this week....
  21. Shelbyville also came back from being down by 15 in the in the first half against Hamilton who was a top 25 team in the country that year and took them to OT. I am not taking anything away from Siegel because that team and last years team were extremely talented. Either way, good luck to all teams in both districts.
  22. I dont think you can judge how things would be played because someone played a certain way against one team or the other. No doubt Siegel was a great team that year but Shelbyville was just as good with Barry Stewart and Twilley. You probably will not agree with me on this but Shelbyville only lost to Siegel by 1 or 2 in the regional final and almost won that game if Twilley's last second shot had not rimmed out. Siegel, Hamilton, or Shelbyville could have won that year but no way Siegel was a better team. I would agree with even but not better in the whole realm of things.
  23. I agree and Siegel should have that expectation especially the team as every team does. I do wonder if any of our teams in region 4AAA can beat RE, White Station, Craigmont, or Melrose in the tourney though.
