  1. I explained where I was coming from in another post to CCSMAN. Good luck to your team.
  2. Wow....people get offended easily. As far as CCS goes I have only seen 2 of their games.....McCallie and Notre Dame. 1-0 against McCallie was a respectable score but as a few people mentioned the goalie made some great saves or it would not have been remotely close. McCallie completely dominated except on the scoreboard. The other game I saw CCS either played poorly the first half or Notre Dame played great the first half with 2 quick goals. CCS played a great 2nd half for sure. I also was going by what a few CCS parents said that their team was not playing as well as they thought they should have. I guess those two games are not enough to go on. But I really don't think the word struggling is great bulletin board material....or at least it was not meant that way. Just my observation from those two games. Good luck to you in A/AA.
  3. Did Keegan play in your first game against CCS. I was at the CSAS v Baylor game and know he played in that game.
  4. You are right that teams cannot underestimate anyone at this point. Also seems like CCS has been struggling in the last part of the year.
  5. There are many great players to choose from. I don't really think anyone from Chattanooga can rate Knoxville or other east Tn players well if they have only seen them one or two times....just like I don't think anyone from Knoxville can effectively rate Chattanooga players with just seeing a time or two. So I will just give Chattanooga area players. Forwards: McCallie's Carter Kerr and Baylor's Carter Paden Midfielders: CSAS Duncan Keegan, Baylor's Kelly Smith, Ooltewah's Daniel Tackling Defender: Baylor's Andrew Roden Goalies: Baylor's Danny Van Valkinburg, CCS's Brad Gibson I know there are many talented players in the area but from the games that I have attended....and I have been to alot these players really standout.
  6. You are right....Baylor was very flat today. Did not look like Baylor at all. Had a few great shots by #12 but the team just was not typical Baylor. Father Ryan played very well and aggressive. #8 for Baylor was solid as always on defense. #7 and #9 for Father Ryan were very good. I agree with you I wish I could see all of the games next week also. Live in Chattanooga so will go to Baylor and MUS game. Next week starts elimination for all....so no one can afford a bad game for sure.
  7. Thanks DonCChatt. I will grab a bit to eat on Signal Mtn Rd and head back for this game. I have read and heard about the Express team. They have some great players. Should be another great game!
  8. I guess I am just a soccer junkie....but I will be there for both games. Every team playing just has one lose....weather is supposed to be great also. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  9. Tremendous 2nd half by Baylor. By beating your top rival to secure hosting your next 2 games. What an effort by the red.
  10. I agree with you. I think this is my 3rd game to watch Baylor this year and 2 of them were against McCallie. Roden is the best defender in the city. Max seemed pretty frustrated also. Very impressive to again win at McCallie win it always counts the most. They have shut out a talented McCallie team their last 4 meetings. Great game.
  11. Home field advantage...that is why I am going with McCallie to win this one....2-1. Have watched both play twice this year including the 0-0 tie they had earlier and I think Baylor is the better team. But McCallie has not beaten Baylor at home in the last two tries...one a region championship game and the other the 0-0 tie. It is hard to not win 3 times in a row at home....thus my prediction. Both great teams and should be a whale of a game. Going to the CSAS vs Boyd game after this one.
  12. Forgot one intangible....McCallie has the home field advantage.....again.
  13. I would expect a very close game between these two rivals. How about it is tied 2-2 at the end of regulation. CCS wins on PK's. Wondering what are the contingency plans for the games in Chattanooga tomorrow with the horrible weather they are predicting....hopefully they will miss it.
  14. Soddy Daisy beat my Red Bank Lions 1-0.
  15. d2 middle teams are hard to find out about. have looked and none are listed on schedules today....even looked on euroscoresportsboard and the tennessean.com. could someone add them to the schedule or post here? thanks
  16. District Semifinals for tonight: D2 East Baylor vs Knox Webb @ Baylor 5:00 6A/AA CCS vs East Ridge @ Notre Dame 5:00 Notre Dame vs Hixson @ ND 7:30 5A/AA Silverdale vs Boyd Buchanan @ Boyd 6:00 Sweetwater vs CSAS @ CSAS 7:00 6AAA Ooltewah vs Central @ Ooltewah 5:00 Soddy Daisy vs Red Bank @ Ooltewah 7:30 5AAA McMinn County ve Walker Valley @ Rhea Co 5:30 Cleveland Vs Cumberland County @ Rhea Co 7:30
  17. Being the first year of the new middle/east district and region set up....I am not sure how it works. Does the loser of this game end their season or do they still advance. I believe the top 3 teams from the middle and the top 2 east teams advance to play at Baylor on Saturday....is this how you understand it?
  18. Next week there are several key rematches in Chattanooga playoffs. In AA/A starting at Notre Dame....CCS and East Ridge square off again. First time it was a 2-2 tie. Did not see the game but I think CCS had the better play but could not score? Correct me if I am wrong. I don't think East Ridge has ever gotten to this round before and CCS needs the win to set up a possible rematch with Notre Dame. Notre Dame gets the first round bye due to winning the regular season district. Then they take on the winner of Hixson and Bledsoe County. No slight to East Ridge or Hixson (Bledsoe, no slight to but they are a 2nd year coed team....their day will come) but I predict a Notre Dame vs CCS rematch. In D2 starting at Baylor next Tuesday....is a Baylor vs Webb rematch. I went to this game and Baylor played very tight the first half. I almost think them knowing they needed a 3-0 win for the outright top seed affected them. Outshot Webb probably over 20 shots to maybe 3? Need to put some of those in. But after seeing the two play....have to go with Baylor to advance to play McCallie again. McCallie gets a first round bye and gets the winner of Baylor/Webb next Thursday. Wow. A possible McCallie/Baylor rematch....what a great game that would be. McCallie has had similar problems. They get the better of play and outshoot their opponents the last few games...only connecting on 1 shot. If Baylor and McCallie get a rematch....and Notre Dame and CCS get a rematch...I hope they aren't at the same time. Would love to see both games involving these longtime rivals. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  19. Don't worry reddick...since you deleted your post on both this and the Webb thread....I just added it back for you. Why delete it buddy oh well all can still see you posing as a ref on this one....and ripping players on the the other one. QUOTE(reddick @ Apr 21 2008 - 08:11 PM) I'm a ref myself and I saw what you guys are talking about. Objectively, I think it was a good no call. The rule book states that the player must play the ball with an arm or a hand to make that call. From my angle, which was behind the baylor section, I thought he had his arm tucked behind his torso as he stepped. The ball did seemed to glance off his elbow, but that was pressed against his body. I wouldn't call that playing the ball. Plus it was a shot, I don't know how much time he had to react. I wouldn't have called it myself, although it was questionable. The ref was right there in good position to see it. Trust me, that's the first thing I checked. I know there were quite a few angered baylor parents and students after that, but it's the Baylor/McCallie game. That would have been a cheap way to change the outcome of a hard fought battle on both sides.
  20. reddick the coward took his posts off of both this and the Baylor vs McCallie thread.
  21. You must have a chip on your shoulder with D2....great soccer.
  22. I guess I should answer my own post first. AAA...Ooltewah and Cleveland should advance through the first rounds of the playoffs. Very good teams but I don't seem them advancing to spring fling. Hope I am wrong. D2...Baylor and McCallie. I would be surprised if one or both does not make it to Murfreesboro this year. Both are extremely strong teams. Baylor as defending state champion would not surprise to if they make a strong run and repeat as champions...especially if they get their injured players back. AA/A...CCS and Notre Dame. Notre Dame is playing pretty well it seems now winning the regular season district. CCS has a senior laden team and it will be very interesting to see how they do in district having to play at ND. But I think CCS will win the post season district there. I see Notre Dame advancing but not to Murfreesboro. I believe CCS can make it to Murfreesboro again this year. Best of luck to all Chattanooga teams!
  23. Curious to see who everyone thinks will make the post season play and do well in both D1 and D2 in Chattanooga and surrounding area.
  24. I totally agree with you cincyred. I follow alot of high school soccer. This is the 2nd time I have seen both Baylor and CSAS this year. Very dominating performance by Baylor. Must have had at least 25 shots to maybe 5 to CSAS. Kelly did contain Duncan very well. Zander almost had a header for a goal on a tremendous throw in from Andrew Roden...he is a weapon with his throw. Their intensity was great. I hope that Carter Paden and the other injured player can come by for your next game. Others have stepped up it seems though.
