Funny this thread is up cause after last night I though about getting on here and blasting the refs at our game, guess just to feel better cause yes things will not change....I've ref'd in a rec league for over 10 years and yes it is hard but what I hate is to see a certain group of ref's that consistantly make bad calls or more over no calls...the group I'm referring to for those that may have attended the games is the South Fulton vs Westview game earlier this season and then again last night when South Fulton visited Bradford....These refs need to be pulled from the pool cause it's sad to know how hard these players work and then get officials like those gentlemen....they cost us a win last night and that's a fact, even the fans from Bradford were saying the same on the way out...guess they just don't like us

Girls lost too at GC and Lee was ejected...The boys lost last night against Martin by 29 I think, not sure what the score was in the girls but they lost also...they said last year it was almost 70 point difference in the boys game so it is better...Martin was also raining the 3's and the ref's were really poor last night and it had the boys frustrated...several times they gave the ball to Martin when it was clearly SF ball...other than that last night... what's killing us is turnovers, low shooting percentage and rebounding...yes that is a lot but we'll get the bugs worked out...Frazier needs to watch who he subs and when...that's when the turnovers are happening...guys coming off the bench...at times the team looks really good....proud of the boys and girls...just keep your heads up cause we just played two tough teams to prepare us for the future...my best to everyone...enjoy Thanksgiving cause we still have much to be thankful for...and my perdiciton is we will win both games next week!!!

I hear SF came out on top pretty good at McKenzie...tonight we go to Gibson Co. so hope that goes well....start of the season and everyone seems excited....honestly we need a win soon over here...been a while since we could say that...baseball I guess the last time. Cedric is a good ball player...can drive the lane well if I remember right...I shouldn't have gotten into that earlier in the post about him and my apologies....hope he has a good season...I always thought he had the best shot at college ball vs anyone in that class of now seniors...Grooms and Nabors were the others to watch...they both could play somewhere...

Hey that Logan Parker is a good athlete...good to hear he is doing well....hope he has a bad game when we come to town.... wonder where he gets that talent...surely not from his dad....just joking...Nick is a fine fella...

What I've heard so don't quote me on it....the boys played the first two periods in the Jr High gym while the girls were in the High School gym...the boys won...then they switched floors for two more quarters and Clarksburg won...they said when you added up the scores SF would have won...so that's good.....we can't wait till the season gets started and SF let's put it to them

Well I can't believe what happened but that's why we play. Butchie no matter what you and everyone else in McKenzie have much to be proud of. Too for all the JCS fans on here my best to you and thanks more for putting a whipping on UC

I believe the score was 31 to 23 in the boys game. Some one from Milan hit a 3 pointer at the buzzer...SF got off to a slow start, made it interesting about mid way and then let it go...there were 30 fouls committed in the two periods...pretty rough game...I think SF was still in Football mode...all in all things do look promising...too Coach Frazier was playing a big mix of players...still I believe SF is going to have a good year...too the girls looked good, but lost...I understand Milan has a girl being recruited by Florida...she had a nice looking jump shot and man can she jump...they said she about dunked the ball in warm ups...wow.

Today they scrimmage Clarksburg in SF and the jamboree tomorrow is at Gibson Co. Red Devils play Milan...girls at 3:30 and Boys at 4:20 is what I'm being told...won't make the scrimmage tonight...we are heading to McKenzie for the Fball game if all goes as planned...may get to Jamboree but not sure...hope they give Milan a good game...my best to all.

I understand they have a scrimmage Friday night and play in a jamboree Saturday night but not sure where at this time...first game is the 20th at Gibson Co and then on the 21st at Westview to get things started...my best to all the players this weekend!

Hawks had a bruised kidney from the McKenzie game and should be fine by BBall time. I too haven't heard much from them lately so don't quote me on that. I hear that Deric Grooms has come back to play and he should lead the team. He's the one I was refering to as sky for a white guy. he can really get up...I remember him smacking Dokes' stuff at one game when he was a sophomore.... David Shepard is also a hussler and should do well as long as he stays out of foul trouble. Too there are a few others that have the potential really contribute, Tyler Bynum, Hawks, Zach Nabors and Hunter Harris to name a few...can't let too much out of the bag

McKenzie will win this one...not easy but atleast by two touchdowns...we hope to be there cheering the Rebels on...

Congrats to the Rebels on their win and my best goes out to the team for next weeks game. I believe we may have to venture over for this one....

jvaughan...welcome back and glad you posted...thanks for the info...I've always read the number was 400...guess that was it back when the shake up in 7A happened two years back...You are right about having players that can play...SF does this year and it will be good to see them come together...after Christmas things will really be hitting on all cylinders provided we stay injury free...good things will happen this year with our ball teams...I can just feel it in the air Speaking of air, we've got a kid that can really sky for a white guy

I can feel the LOVE I hope the Rebels win it all...good luck to you guys butchie and the rest...fyi and not to steal the thread but you mentioned about coming over to help and we could use it...Wood must be reading this site...he's all over talking about starting now with weight lifting and agilities...it's going to be mandatory according to him...bout time...still he's got to do right on game day and if he is reading...let me say...please quit making your qb's run back and forth to the sideline to get the plays! They've been making wrist bands with play cards in them for about 10 years now....again sorry to vent in your thread it's just been heck this season...so I'll end with this and Red Devils Forgive Me but.....I really came on here to say..... GO REBELS and I hope Carr and the team show's out!!!

Thanks it was thrilling to be a starter on that team, we didn't win state that year but we made it to the playoffs....you've got to go futher back...for a hint....they broadcasted our game with UC over the intercom in the Goodyear plant that night....I'm not saying how long ago

We at SF need to step up to anyone we play no matter what classification or who they have on the team. I wasn't bashing UC band, just making an observation. Still I don't like what happened with the reclassifications and that's just my opinion and sorry to beat a dead horse. One thing to just mention, Coach Wood has said to the newspapers that it looks like UC will be going back to 2A and Bruceton (I believe, maybe West Carroll) will go to Region 8A to even out the districts in football. Anyone else hearing this? Isn't the break at 400 and if so according to ucdiditagain they are there now....just pointing out what is being said. All in all our players and coaches have to step up, honestly the competition is good. When we were in school we beat UC, OC, Martin and everyone else in basketball...what a great feeling that was and that's what we need to get back too, confidence and being proud of your team and program. Regarding the player at UC he's a good kid, had some trouble with grades at SF, went to Jackson and is now at UC. Yes I don't think his granddad would put his self in that position. I like him as a ref and person. But what if it does happen that's what I was getting at. Another thing to point out why SF is in the condition it is, we have good players moving off just like this guy. Too take our running back for example last year, Terry Jones now at Paducah Tillman, he ended some games last year with more yards than Vincent, and boy did we need him this year. Too he wasn't a bad basketball player. Things will change for the best; I do believe we are heading in that direction. For the kids reading all this just keep your heads up, play hard, play as a team and let's put a spanking on some of these guys

I know he was at the summer camp in Martin and was playing then...and yes he is the grandson of the principle over at UC elementary or middle school, whom is also a referee for this area...is that a conflict if he calls one of their games?

He's at UC and I wonder how his grades are now...he's good on offense but always lacked big time on defense...I agree with redmanparent...some...do remember everyone wanted Driver out and sometimes that's the penality for changes...but all in all you have to agree it's for the best....these players will respond to anyone better than to the one of the past....I don't know about everyone else but I'm ready to see them play their first game...I do hear they are practicing now....that's good...what in the past...didn't we have to wait until the beans were out of the fields and that was about the week before our first game Again can we get into a Christmas tourney somewhere?

I heard about that also...too they said that right as he released it a wind gust came through and blew off the ref's hat to about 20 yard back...too funny...you got to laugh about something over here these days...I hear now the Fulton deal is official and it's on KY athletic web site...not sure about the web address....anyway thanks for all the comments this season and I hear Coach Wood said on the radio they are starting today prepping for next season...weight room and agilities...that's great news and players if your reading this get in there and work hard...no fooling around cause you don't want to go through a season like this again...

Thanks for the comments above...I wasn't able to make the game last night due to work but heard it was a sloppy, windy, rainy ole night...a tough one for any offense that was depending on passing the ball...I understand that our running back Joyner took a good lick sometime after half time and they took him off in an ambulance...any word on how he's doing...good I hope...plus they say they had 2 more go down... It has been a tough year for our team but guys my hats off to all the players for sticking in there...You are truely winners in my heart...for those graduating my best to you and to those players still to come...get stronger and faster....keep your heads up and be positive cause things will be better next season....look forward to seeing you play....now to Basketball for us and everyone in the playoff's good luck!

Our new coach is our principle Mr. Frazier and he's a good one. He gets the kids motivated and pushes them. Still they are looking for a coach cause really there could be some conflict with that. At this point I hope they don't due to the above mentioned. After looking at the schedule again I still feel they can hit at least the 500 mark with a few breaks. Yes this is a very tough if not the toughest district in 1A. Too I hate to open a can of worms but I still feel those that came to single A should have stayed in 2A...especially UC....when it was announced they were coming to single A they were ranked number one in the state in 2A....what's up with that...if they wouldn't have won state last year in 1A they would have been a laughing stock...too they have a Junior player (should be a Senior) that went to SF and flunked out of school, to my knowlegde he failed every subject while at SF...honestly I would like to see what their enrollment #'s are now....crap they have more kids in the band than we do on our football team...too what's up with 2A schools coming down to 1A in basketball...looks like if your number of students warrant you to be 2A in one sport you should stay there...guess I've been out of school too long...one other thing and I'll get down off my soap box is why doesn't SF play in any Preseason or Christmas Tournaments...Yes our team stunk last year but not the years before...that's what I'd like to see them get back into...never hurts to play as many games as you can....I apologize now for any ill will this causes but I'm speaking my mind on this one.

Butchie funny you say that...with the way Fulton is going right now and out of state tuition don't cost anything, believe me we are thinking about it...the coaches over there have mentioned to use serval times how they would like for us to switch and even go as far to say they wish we were there this year....what would really make a statement if we all went....too and I hate to say this but the education the kids would get in Fulton would be better...but really do we want to do that to our school...seems like going to the front office or board behind closed doors is not amounting to anything so who knows what the future brings....
