If that is the case then hopefully they reconfigure the pools so that Pool C isn't stuck with just two teams in while others have 4.
Archer is leaving after pool play tomorrow I think.

Thomas Bullard pinned Sutherland (in the 1st) last year at this tournament.
Adcock wrestled Sam Bullard (the on wrestling 152) earlier this season and won.
Yes Bullard pinned Sutherland. Sutherland got in on a deep shot and Bullard scrambled out. They got into a weird scramble and Bullard ended up with a reverse/cradle/ Peterson type postion. Very quick pin call but that's the way it goes sometimes. The year before in the McCallie Invite Bullard won 7-4. Sutherland had what looked like 2 for sure takedowns but Bullard scrambled out, Sutherland got a cradle and had him on his back for the better part of a period but couldn't get the pin. The Bullards are very tough, there is a reason they have won the freshman, sophomore nationals along with winning and placing at the super32. They are doing it in the middle weights as underclassman is what is even more impressive. Its not like they are wrestling one of the first few weights and beating freshmen. The kids can flat out wrestle. The very best kids we have in Tn haven't came close to winning the super32 and most don't even place, especially in the lighter to middle weights. The smaller Bullard that wrestled Adcock isn't on the same level as the bigger two brothers although he is also very good.

Sutherland and T Bullard would be a great match. Lujan vs Parker would be another great match to see. Parker and Lee. Adcock vs another Bullard. Pike vs ?
Not sure what weight everyone will be Saturday but we should definitely see several state champs facing each other. This is hands down the toughest tournament in the state and one of the toughest in the southeast.
Looks like Lujuan has split time between 182 and 195 this year in duals so we could possibly see a Lujuan vs Parker at 195. It looks like Lee has been at 220 so we probably wont see that matchup with Parker.
There will be a ton of good match ups at 160 with Bullard, Garrison, Sutherland, Russo, Oliver, Father Ryan , ectt.. Sutherland just got back on the mat Tuesday for the first time this year so this weekend will be challenging to say the least, would love to wrestle this tournament a month from now. Can you postpone it Rob, lol ? Adcock and Sam Bullard should be in the same weight. Might see Diaz from Archer bump up and wrestle Murphy at 138, that would be a good one.

reported from his family. Seems recent to them apparently, interesting which sport he chooses at the next level?T
They last wrestled when Chad was in the 8th grade and Ryan was in the 7th. It was at the Dixie duals and they were on the same team. I had them wrestle an exhibition because neither one had been challenged. Chad won that one and Ryan won the previous meeting during the school year if my memory serves me correct. I think they were one weight class apart but I cant remember who was bigger at that time. I think Ryans first preference would be to play football in college but don't quote me on that. He is certainly good enough to compete in any of the sports at the next level.

Ryan Parker has gone toe to toe with Soloman in recent years, I know in off season
They haven't wrestled since middle school. Ryan plays football, lacrosse , track and doesn't wrestle off season.

If anyone has a used mat for sale please let me know. Would prefer a full mat but large sections would work as well.

Judging from their regular season performance and how they ended up at the big dance, sure.
Hey let's consider a few of these guys like,,, Cael Sanderson? Dan Gable? Jordan Burroughs ? Perhaps John Smith? How bout Kyle Dake or even Rulon Gardener? I don't think any of them got one...
Cael Sanderson was a 4 time state champ. Gable was undefeated winning three state titles. John Smith was a 2 time champion. Dake 2 time champ. Burroughs 1 x champ. Gardner was a 1x champ

The age groups will remain the same as they have been

Great to hear about Baker. If your information is true wrestlinggod, I see him making an immediate impact for Coach Eslinger.
Also, hope to see instater , Scottie Boykin to build off his tremendous start last year as a true freshman.
Any word though on what Watson's deal is at UVA? Also are Houston Clements at UNC and Barrett Walthall at UTC still competing? Only other instaters I can think of who would still be competing at the colligate level?
Watson is still wrestling at UVA. He has had some injuries that has required surgery but was doing well last I heard. Houston is still wrestling at Unc as well.

You know I'm in . We will lay our undefeated title on the line. November is a little early though as most clubs won't even start until then and some as late as December

Why should this be any different than all the travel baseball teams that are playing right now? Many of those teams have multiple kids from the same high school on them. If their coach isn't coaching them and they aren't using the schools facility's they attend then how could the Tssaa tell a kid he can't compete in the summer on his or her own free time? That would be a huge violation of consitunional rights. The dead period is to allow kids to have a break from their respective sports without their school coach " forcing " them to practice, lift, ectt.. What kids and parents chose to do on their own can't legally be dictated by any governing body and if they tried there would be a huge lawsuit. The dead period states there can't be any conditioning , open facilities ect.. If a kid wants to go to a private gym and lift weights are you suggesting this is a violation of the dead period? That would be the same as saying these kids can't compete in the junior duals, Disney duals ect..

I thought that Oliver & Murphy would make the trip but with most high schools in Tennessee taking final exams it's difficult for kids to train like they need to for Fila Cadets. We all know that excellent academics will open more doors than wrestling.
Baylor has finals starting today so Murph couldn't have wrestled

Each participant needs to bring a copy of their birth certificate, Aau Card and either a current report card or a letter from the school stating their current grade.

The tournament was pretty tough this year. The past few years flo and Iowa were on the same weekends so this year the quality was much tougher. This was the largest tournament they have ever had. There were 600 more entries this year over last year. I'm not sure how that breaks down per division though. We only had a few seniors entered from what I saw . Stevison had a brutal draw and none of the other top seniors wrestled.

Brody Gregory from Hixson is in the finals at freshman hvy against Boykin and Mackenzie Martin finished at 2-2 also from Hixson. I'm not sure about the Dooleys or the other areas of the state. It was so spread out it was hard to keep up with everyone. The tournament website has all the results.
-
I lost track of everyone today. I'll update what I know for sure. Boykin and Evans are in the finals of the freshman division. Knox Fuller is 4-1 and will place, Toribio is 4-1 and will place, Solomon and Sutherland finished 4-2 and 5-2 but needed a couple of more wins . Raulston was 2-2, McElhaney was 2-2, Tj hicks was 3-2. Reiniche was 2-2, LaCoe was 1-2, Stevison was 1-2. I think Sean Kennedy is placing . Hutchins from Pigeon Forge was still alive and wrestling tough . Im not sure about the other Nashville people . I was impressed with all of the Tennessee wrestlers efforts. It was cool watching all the wrestlers come together and support each other.
-
Morning update, Stevison now 1-1, Hutchins 2-1, Mcelhaney 2-1, LaCoe 1-2
-
Torbio 3-0, Knox fuller 3-0, Mecelhaney 0-1, Billy Raulston ,1-1 , Sammy Evans 1-0, Reiniche 1--1, Boykin 1-0, Mackenzie Martin 1-1, Lacoe 1-1, Soloman 2-1, Sutherland 3-1, Tj hicks 3,-1
