  1. I talked to some of the players and they said they didn't care if the qb had a red or pink jersey on. if they got the chance they going to unload on him.

Well maybe those players need to learn to respect the sport.  Its a football scrimmage so there is nothing gained by playing dirty and no shame in being as respectful of the other team as you are your own practice squad.  Punks that don't understand that are nothing but thugs and will always need someone policing them.

  2. previous loss to you...? don't take this personally, because it is a legitimate question, but who are you?

Its pretty clear on the TCA threads who Reitz is; he's part of the TCA broadcasting group and a TCA supporter.  Its also clear that he thinks you are an Adamsville fan.  If you aren't, then why don't you introduce yourself to those of us who don't know?

  3. The vandalism to motivate the team was stupid and could almost be overlooked because it was easily repaired except for the false blame they put on SPitt.  The paying the college kid to practice with the team was a good idea except that it is illegal under TSSAA and possibly dangerous.  Neither of these however gave Marion County's team an unfair advantage in my opinion.  But breaking in and stealing playbooks is different.  First of all breaking and entering is criminal.  Secondly it did give Marion County's team an unfair advantage in those games.  This throws their whole season into question and the TSSAA will have no choice but to strip them of all wins and titles if it is indeed true.

If the team is allowed to play, possibly eliminating more teams and possibly winning state, and is then stripped of all of it, then what?  On the other hand, if they are not allowed to play and it is proven that the coaches did not steal any playbooks, then what?  I thing the TSSAA needs to do a fast investigation and if proof of even one stolen playbook is found then the whole season needs to be forfeited.

I agree it is tough on the kids but that's the way life is.  One member of a group can ruin it for the rest of the group; it happens all the time.

  4. First and foremost let this be an injury free game with sportsmanship that gives glory to God.  I am looking forward to an intense game and I feel it will be close, coming down to a missed opportunity to score being the deciding factor.  Its going to be tough all 48 minutes and the victory will be earned, not handed to the victor.

I'm not going to predict because these two teams are too different.  Defense will be the key.

  5. Hope some of you fans out there will keep ole ReitzFan in your thoughts. I have developed a pretty serious infection and I may not get to work the TCA radio broadcast as a result on Saturday. I will find out if the doctor releases me on Friday morning.

You will be in my thoughts and my prayers! You have been on the sidelines for every game this season haven't you? You need to be there so I hope that you will have an ultrafast and complete recovery.

  6. Troll hear'd Joey left the game with a concussion. Hope and assume he's okay, since haven't hear'd anything more. Sure would be ashame if he has to sit this one out his senior year.

As far as I know, everyone is healthy and ready on our side.

Fortunately Joey is fine. He got his bell rung Friday night but insisted on going back in to hold the ball for the winning kick. He wouldn't miss this game for anything!!

  7. Last night was THE most exciting football game I have ever seen. It truly was undecided until the last PAT. Both teams gave their all and both should be proud! McKenzie is a class team that is truly a force to reckon with. When we met before I was amazed with your player's "do or die" effort in everything they did. Last night, I saw that in our Lions and that made for a great game. Your fans were great and some came out on the field to congratulate us on the win.

The TCA Lions will be representing West TN next week and I guarantee that this is an honor and a responsibility that they take very seriously.

  8. TCA Had No Answer For Us Last Time And Can't Have Improved That Much Since...I Realize Them Being A Private School And All Means...Talent..Cash..Acquired...But Will Not Mean Or Help Diddly This Week. I'd Like To Congratulate TCA On Their Season And Making It This Far..But The Road Winds Down Here In Mckenzie Friday!

Butchie, do NOT start taking away from our players by making allegations for which you have absolutely no evidence or knowlege!! The ONLY thing that being a private school means for TCA Friday night is that we are playing a school that is twice our size with twice as many players and a tax funded football budget! But you are right, that won't mean diddly. Our boys will play with what they have played with all year long: grit, determination, and all the ability God gave them.

No one pays anyone to play for us. And I know that for a FACT!

The only factor in the outcome of Friday's game is those 22 young men on the field and their God.

  9. I don't think we got to see how good Humboldt really is. The TCA defense kept them in check all night. I was looking forward to seeing Quan perform but I know I didn't get to see what he could really do. No way can anyone demean Humboldt's ability. They played a very tough and very ready Lions team. Were we to play again, well, thankfully we don't have to, at least not this year.

Congrats to Humboldt on a fantastic season. Congrats to TCA for a hard-fought-for win!!

Now, as Stockerd said, lets move on. Next week's game follows the day of feast and thankfulness. We had better be ready!

  10. GOOD LUCK TO BOTH TEAMS. I AM ROOTING FOR HUMBOLDT, BUT I THINK TCA MAY PULL OFF THE UPSET. I REALLY DON'T WANT TO SEE THE CONCEITED POSTS THAT WILL BE ON HERE IF TCA WINS. I HOPE IT'S A HARD NOSED FOOTBALL GAME AND INJURY FREE.

I am quoting you this time because last time I replied something you posted, you deleted your reply which caused mine to not make sense. I want your statement to be here tomorrow, after TCA wins.

  11. GO LIONS!!!!

Its game day and the boys in purple aren't done yet. Tonight should be a good game between two good teams. I know you can't base anything on common opponents but for what its worth, the outcomes are similar.

    • McKenzie - Humbolt 15-18, TCA 7-18
    • Union City - Humboldt 38-15, TCA 21-15
    • Adamsville - Humboldt 28-21, TCA 42-14
    • Peabody - Humboldt 13-3, TCA 37-17

Its interesting that both Humboldt and TCA defenses gave up the same number of points to both McKenzie and Union City while Humboldt's offense was able to score more. Against Adamsville and Peabody the outcomes for Humboldt and TCA were more different with TCA having much more decisive wins over both of these teams.

I am hoping for a good game with no injuries and God-honoring sportsmanship. I know the Lions are ready and I believe TCA will win this one in an exciting, high scoring game.

  12. Folks, be careful trying to read something into tcaee's comment about athleticism. He is simply stating what is usually said about TCA's ability to win - not athletic or big enough. Please don't try to make a race issue out of what is going to be a really exciting game Friday night.

I am looking forward to seeing these two teams compete and seeing Quan and Jabriel perform. Both teams have strengths and weaknesses and are very different. Trinity is a 1A sized school competing in 2A but certainly has the ability plus the heart and drive to compete against a very good Humboldt team.

I am hoping for a great game that is injury-free and a TCA win!! Go Lions!!

  13. If Riverside does what it did to TCA last year then they should be fine. Riverside contained Jabriel and shocked alot of people last year.

The defensive coordinator for Riverside had just left TCA as defensive coordinator a couple of weeks before the start of last season. He obviously knew the TCA plays and abilities very well. He was actually Jabriel's "agent" in the college recruitment game.

That will still be an advantage for Riverside but not as much as last year. Two of TCA's coaches were star players at Riverside in their day. Its a grudge matchup between the coaches now!

I am going to predict a TCA win by 10.

  14.

How about an article every week on "West Tennessee Football Overview" (maybe even leave out the Jackson teams) and give all the hot teams a heads up? Even if it takes a half page in the sports section I'm sure it would help this situation a LOT!!

Your wish has been granted! McKenzie has been in the Dirty Dozen every week. Check it out From today's Jackson Sun Its not an entire article but it is certainly an acknowledgement of the hottest teams in the Sun area.

  15. Should be a great game, McKenzie can't just key in on Jabriel and expect to win this game. If a few receivers come up big and our ground game is effective I think we should win in a close one

Washington has his moments, Rebels have the game by 7 (or......) Jabriel best be prepared to get stuck....just like last year. Different faces and numbers......same pain.

If you shut down TCA's quarterback, you shut down TCA's entire offense. Also don't pass in his vicinity when he's on defense. McKenzie wins by 10.

Shut down TCA's quarterback, you shut down TCA's entire TEAM. I have never seen an individual player who makes such an impact on the game. He has great vision when looking for the open man, pinpoint accuracy when throwing the ball, great speed, quickness, and agility when running. I don't mean to offend anyone from TCA but without Jabriel, they are just another football team. With Jabriel, they are a threat to anyone.

If McKenzie's rush defense is as great as it has been then the TCA run game won't have much of a chance to do some damage even though more than likely Washington will be the only one rushing all over the place.

I dont care how good Washington is, games are not won by one player. The remaining 10 players on the field deserve much more credit than they are getting.

Go Back And Read The Posts On This Thread Prior To The Game And Count How Many Said Jabriel Washington This And That..And We Gonna Do This And That And TCA Is This Because Of Jabriel Washington...But Then You Lose And We Make Comments About How He Wasn't A Factor And How We Contained Him And How We Expected More From Him And Then We Are Attacking Him.....? If Ya Didn't Want Us To Speak Of Him And Comment On Him? Why Then, Prey Tell, Did Ya Beat Us Over The Head With Him Prior To The Game? We Was Expecting The Number One Draft Pick To Alabama, And We Was Left With Wanting Or Expecting More......So In the Future...Maybe You Should Speak Of Your Team And Not Single Him Out...Do Him Some Courtesy...Don't Start Speaking Of Him Prior To The Game And There Won't Be None After.

This "Multiquote" thing is fun isn't it? I just did what you said Butchie and found all the posts where our quarterback was mentioned so now its easy to see where TCA was beating ya'll over the head with Washington prior to the game.

What's the saying.... better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool than to open it and erase all doubt? Goes for typing too! :thumb:

  16. I'm trying to behave but this Jackson influence on West TN football really whzzes me off. Quan Campbell at Humboldt is as good as if not better than Washington. The Rebels have Clark, Taylor and Arnold (and Esch, and Vinson and Hargrove and Eaton and

Thomas......) that are right there with them!!!! I don't think I really thought of how many weapons Mckenzie had untill now. And didm't even mention our recievers (well, maybe I did). And some other schools have some studs too. It's great that there are so many good players n our area. But what gets it done is good teams I've found a few and they ain't in Jackson.

But I do thank WBBJ for getting some good footage of our hiney whipping of TCA tonight and putting it on the 5th Quarter.

TCA, get over Washington. He has a ton of speed and talent. But if you lay a lick on him, his night is DONE! If you didn't see it tonight you weren't at the game. Do Not send this game film to Saban if you want him to have a shot at the SEC.

Congratulations. Your team won. So why do you feel the need to take shots at our team, our players, and even our whole town?? I had intended to come on here and say some good things about the McKenzie team but ya'll really don't need any more praise than you heap on yourselves. I am smart enough not to fault the team based on their fans behavior but you do make it hard.

While there is no doubt that the Rebels beat the Lions tonight and was the better team, can you really call 18 points "dominating?" The Rebels had a lot of yardage for those 3 TD's. Must have been some defense on the field don't ya think? I don't understand why some think that the score doesn't reflect the game. Maybe McKenzie could have scored more but why didn't they?

And Washington doesn't need a "shot" at the SEC. He's in and we can all watch together for the next 4 years to see what he will do with it.

Good luck to McKenzie with the rest of your season.
