  1. it does not count as a trip to the mound if you change pitchers...you get 3 trips per GAME...without looking up the rule i believe you can only put the starter back in i do not htink you can out a reliever back in but let me ask you this...if the firstbaseman was having trouble a few moment ago what makes you think he would be ok a few batters later?
  2. I also played at riverdale and just graduated last year. After 3 years of Riverdale baseball with him, we were teammates and pretty much close as brothers. I did not get to attend the funeral because i was out of country on mission work. I did all i could to come back for it but Dorris and Ken told me to stay and do Gods work. Prayers go out from me, stewatrs creek church of christ, and the church of christ of Ojojona in Honduras. Jordan was a great kid and loved by many. God must have needed another angel and he got himself a good one. We will all miss you Jordan, I love you man
  3. Yea... the rain did clear but a lil too much damage done. Looks like everyone has to wait another 24 hours before the showdown. This will be a great game.... good luck to both teams.
  4. No Riverdale students will tailgate for an away game when the home game is the next night....the tailgate is tonight if the good lord allows them to play
  5. Riverdale has also beat Faragut
  6. This riverdale team is excited!! They are pumped. Text messages were going around last night and earlier this morning. Last night texts were going around...only 23 hours left until game time. And this morning...T-minus 11 hours. lol. This Riverdale team is more ready than ever. Oakland had better be as ready or this game is ALL Riverdale's. And as of now...8 hours and 10 minutes until the showdown of game #1. lol. Students are looking forward to tomorrows game at Riverdale. Can anyone say...Tailgate!! lol. Students are throwing a tailgate for the game tomorrow. This team, fans, and student body are READY....If Oakland or anyone is looking for Riverdale to back down at ANY time, sorry. There is too much hype going around. These will be great games and i CANNOT wait. I am hoping to see EVERYONE there.
  7. Now with this week out of the way. And teams gettng ready for next week. I am sur that what is on most people's mind is Riverdale and Oakland. This should be a VERY good 2 ball games next week. What does everyone think?
  8. And once again because apparently more than one person thinks the 8-2 lead squeeze was ridiculous. Lebanon came back against Hendersonville last week with 6 runs in the last inning. Now, lets do some math....When Riverdale squeezed 8-2 they were up by (8) - (2) = 6 Now last week against Lebanon came back from a 6 run defecit Squeeze 8-2=6 Run defecit = 6 Call me crazy but those two are the SAME All Riverdale was trying to do was make sure that the comeback did not happen to them. If they wanted to run up the score then believe me, they COULD have.
  9. Lets see. About this.... The TEAM did not chant...a select few players yes. But not the TEAM. Every ball club has those select few players. If you dont believe me, go to a game other than just the Lebanon games and pay attention to the other teams you all play. And the 8-2 lead squeeze. Think back a week ago. I am POSITIVE Lebanon came back from a 6 run deficit in the last inning to win a game. If im not mistaking it was against Hendersonville. Am I right? If you would talk to Coach Powers they did not try to run up the score but simply take a bigger lead so that the 6 run last inning comeback does not happen again. And classless about that?.... Lebanon's coach chewed out Coach Powers for doing that....that shows a lot of class too. But I have talked to the Riverdale team, they had it last night with you all getting mad about that stuff and have it in their plan book to run up the score. 15-0 lead, can you say SQUEEZE. If you would just stop complaining about all of that stuff they might treat you like White Co. and put the JV out there. But you had to go and complain and make the team mad, so tonight ought to be fun. And as of Coach Powers having "LACK OF CLASS". Please, are you serious? Everytime one of those players does something classless they get chewed out or run after the game. You do not know what Coach Powers said when he went into the dugout....he got onto the few that were a little out of line. And i believe it was Lebanon's coach last year who did not even let his players shake Riverdale's hands. Hmm....that coach is FULL of class.
  10. Handled who? The district? Correct me if i am wrong but Riverdale went 19-0...if you handled the district last year your nest couple years will be ROUGH
  11. lol....pretty much EVERY player in murfreesboro played in the MBA together since tee ball. They have all played and all gone to those murfreesboro schools. Murfreesboro players but playing together since 10 years old to shame.
  12. Thats terrible news. Prayers from Murfreesboro. Keep updates on his condition please.
  13. Even with PJ playing, i too think Riverdale will still come out on top.
  14. yes, i do believe that is true. And also the years Oakland did win state....with all the talent they had they SHOULD have won more state titles than they did. And for anyone who says "you don't know what you are talking about" ask Brendan King and Jeremy Sladen and they will tell you the same thing.
  15. Everyone for the past 4 years have said that there is no way Riverdale wins the district. And for the past 4 years, they have proved everyone wrong. And to Riverdale will make it 5 years of proving people wrong, but it does not matter because just like every year this will happen again next year. It is Riverdale's to lose and this year they will prove everyone wrong yet again. Riverdale has a tourney this weekend and i think they play at 6 or 630 tonight against Lincoln Co. then tomorrow at 3 and 5 they have Mt. Juliet (Hill will be on the mound againt RHS) and at 5 they have Liberty?? maybe i dont know exactly who they have that game. The Lincoln Co. and Mt. Juliet will be great games, everyone come out and watch!!
  16. No, the pitching is not near as good as last year after losing Chason Choate and Coty Woods, but Austin Hurt can and WILL get the job done. He never disappoints. But all around, they will not be as good as last year but the will to win and the strive for state will get them thru. 17. Too cold? Not an excuse....both teams had to play in it and it was the same temp. out there for both teams offensively and defensively. As for the injuries, ok...but Franklin Co. only saw 2 pitchers that will get major innings this year. Along with 2 that have never seen varisty action in the 2 years they have dressed out. These two teams will meet again in the saeson, they always do so we will see.
  18. Riverdale does have a good chance at taking it this year. Look for Chad Hunter and Will Skinner to be the power of the offense. Expect the same as last year along with a bit more. Also look for those base hits coming from Ben Jones, Axel Watson, Brandon Pearl, and Chase Johnson (who also has some power behind his bat) Also look for that DH spot and first base slot to be filled (when Austin Hurt pitches) by a very young and very talented Corey Crunk to come in with base hits. Look out, here comes #7!!!!!!!!!
  19. Even if Franklin Co. does have one of their worst teams in years, 26-5 is impressive unless your playing a school for the blind. lol. Not only that but scoring 28 runs against LaVergne and then beating friendship christian 12-1 this Riverdale team is good. Combined 65-8 scoring is not bad at all.
  20. The team chemistry and will to win is the MAIN key to winning. You said it perfect....9 players with average talent but a desire to win will beat the 9 signees with no chemitry 9 out of 10 times. Sure, talent does help things don't get me wrong, but without good chemistry and will to win, a team is nothing.
  21. Jordan Henderson is nothing? You have got to be kidding me. He does not keep his head all the time on the mound but the 9 out of 10 times he does maintain his composure he is a VERY tough pitcher to hit against. My advice, watch out in district play cause this kid can put on a show with the best of them.
  22. 1. Riverdale 2. Oakland Riverdale - They have good pitching. Austin Hurt will hit any spot anytime. Though he does nto throw the ball too hard hitting a pitch on the black of the plate is tough enough as it is. Jordan Henderson and Brian Davis are the 2 powering arms. Both hitting mid 80's and Henderson being able to hit the 87 mark every once in a while. Batting wise they are not as powering as last year but have all 9 slots filled with base hitters. Hunter and Skinner bring power to the plate along with Chase Johnson and Brett Lanning coming behind them. But at the same time look out for those base hits. Oakland - They have great pitching, Marcus Barnes at the top of the list. He has a great arm and control, look for him to be one of the top pitchers in the state. Behind him are Brenden Stender who has throw the ball well and Tyler Burnett who has a little velocity on him. If these pitchers can throw the ball where needed, they will be very tough to beat this season. Batting wise Oakland is one of the best hitting teams having all 9 slots filled nicely. Having back Burnett, Polk, Fann, and Dodd all coming back off of a strong year last year, look for them to put up some runs. They have power hitters that can also get the job done getting clutch base hits when needed. Looks for Oakland to be a tough team to beat. With all this said and the two teams being about even, there are more than two teams in the district and a sweep against one does not guarantee the district championship spot. Both teams have to play at the top of their game each night in district play. Look for one off-night to be the deciding factor in this years district race. But with the past it is kind of hard to take Riverdale out of it, look for tradition to prevail this year. Good luck to all the teams and lets have a great year of baseball in 7AAA!!!!
  23. Riverdale wins NO DOUBT Riverdale - 42 Lebanon - 3
  24. Yes, Riverdale has DOMINATED. With that record, it includes playoffs. So they have not been playing easy competition.
