  1. I'm glad I asked the question and I appreciate the honest (if at times egregious) responses. Once again I'll be there on Friday. As far as the game is concerned, I think Fulton is going to force Catholic to go to the passing game by essentially stopping the run as they did in last year's playoff win. If Catholic don't or can't get the passing game going I believe they'll lose this one too. If they can then I think Catholic wins by a touchdown. Nothing like hedging one's bets.
  2. I am amazed that Catholic has managed to engender such an active dislike in such a short space of time and to be honest I just don't understand it. I have been at three of the last four games between these two powerhouses and for me this kind of competitiveness, this kind of rivalry is what sport is all about. I have no idea who is going to win on Friday. I do know I will be entertained and that the kids will battle hard. Personally, I thought that was the whole point of playing.
  3. Yes, I was at the game last night and I've got to say I was very impressed with AC. However, as you say Catholic did have a touchdown called back in the first quarter and still ended up winning by two touchdowns (minus a missed extra point). So as well as AC played my prediction wasn't too bad. As to a bias in the referees, I just think that is unfair. I thought the TD that Catholic had called back was a marginal call at best. But the bottom line is that not every call goes your way in sports. The referee called what he saw and so it wasn't a touchdown. You've just got to move on. Also, as a matter of interest, I believe Catholic has over a hundred players on their team. That's an awful lot of trainers. Finally, as to the Fulton game, I think it will be a good one - it usually is.
  4. Nobody has managed to play Catholic close this year. I don't expect AC to be the first. Catholic to win by at least three touchdowns.
  5. I really had this game as a "pick 'em" before Catholic's Friday night game against AE. For three and a half quarters Catholic mauled AE and when they scored the TD to go up 20-0 and people started leaving the atmosphere definitely dropped a notch and Catholic took their foot off the gas. All credit to AE, they didn't give up and made life very interesting for the last couple of minutes. The point is though that Catholic had the "fear of God" put into them and because of that I see Pemberton having this team more than ready for Fulton. Although there were a couple of contentious calls in the last game between these two Catholic was by far the better team and were worthy winners. I think before the AE game they might have started to believe their own hype. After Friday's scare there is no chance of this happening again. Catholic to beat Fulton in a very close game.
  6. In reference to my earlier prediction - Catholic by at least 10. I should point out I have no affiliation with the KCHS whatsoever (neither player, parent, or former student) I just enjoy HS football. If Catholic underestimate AE, so be it. I just think it would be a shame as they are the best team I have seen this year and the Catholic vs Fulton game promises to be another classic if they can both make it. On a closing note - Good Luck to all the teams playing this Friday.
  7. I don't why everybody thinks this will be really close. I keep reading that AE have got so much better since going 0-3, however, they've only beaten TWO teams with a winning record since that point and both of those finished 6-5. Catholic along with Fulton are the two best teams in the East by a mile. Catholic by 10 (at least).
  8. There's not a whole lot of point going through all the predictions. In the east it's the winner of Knox Catholic and Fulton. In the west its the winner of Crockett and Jackson South Side. Personally, I think Catholic beats Fulton and Crockett beats South Side. I could be wrong about the west since I know more about the east. Unless Fulton improve dramatically I see Catholic winning by a touchdown or more. In the west I'm picking Crockett since they're at home. In the Championship game based on past history (last 3 -4 yrs) Catholic should win in a blow out. That's what I expect. Catholic 35 - 14 Crockett County
  9. Yes, muffin I know. It was a joke!
  10. I see 17 people have voted Station Camp No. 1. I didn't think there were 17 people in the entire state who believed this. I'm convinced one misguided soul must have voted 17 times.
