  1. This thing was about to drop out of the bottom of the queue...

Last night's C'wood vs. Waynesboro game came out as predicted. We'll know for sure tonight but this is what it looks like going into tonight??™s games.

    Cascade vs Columbia Academy

    JB vs Moore County

    McEwen @ MTP

    Forrest @ Wayne Co.

McEwen is playing good ball right now and has improved a lot as the season has progressed. They are too one dimensional (no passing game) to beat Jo Byrns tonight but they will give them a good game. I believe I would rather go on the road and face Mt Pleasant than stay home and play Moore Co. Moore Co. is a dangerous team because you don't know which Moore Co. team will show up to play. If it's the one that played Wayne Co. mid-season then Jo Byrns (or McEwen) will have problems. Forrest should beat MTCS tonight and will give Wayne Co. trouble. They (Forrest) have the best material in either Region; size, numbers, speed, etc... They haven't put it all together yet this year. They should have beaten Jo Byrns and could have beaten Cascade if they had played a little smarter. Forrest could take down Wayne Co. Cascade should beat Columbia Academy with out a lot of trouble. I say all that to say this... this is the best chance in years for a sweep by either Region... Region 5 could do it this year.

You would rather travel to MP than play MC at your place???? That's a real head scratcher!!?? I hope you get your wish.

  2. Moore County has really had an interesting year. They get abused by Eagleville and Cascade then beat WC. Now they almost loose to celler dwellers Zion and Cornersville, although Zion is a much improved team there is no way Cornersville should have been close. Then looking at Perry County, they played MTCS a good game even though they have only won against a horrible Huntland team, Zion and Cornersville. MTCS plays JB a really good game and is competitive in all their games. It's a hard call this year on the region matchups this year just looking at the games that have been played already between region 5 and 6.

  3. yea he has family there that is not doing so good he did text me though and still out there,,,,yall alll pray for ole Butchie and family /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

I hate to hear that. Hope everything turns out alright.

  4. moore county had improved A LOT, but im not sure anymore after there game with zion.

    I don't know what happened at MC but they almost lost to Cornersville also. That is crazy. Maybe they been spending to much time at the Jack Daniels distillery. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

I hope with the way they are playing that CA gets in. They are competitive.

  5. I thought I'd start seeing more mTp folks on this thread. I'm pretty sure there is a chance JB could be making an earlier trip to The Jungle than normal if there is a combination of wins/losses. Hope not, but possible. I have not seen a scenerio where mTp would make a round 1 trip to The Dungeon.

We will more than likely end up with the number 2 seed in region 6. I would much rather JB come to us than us go to JB. That's a heck of a drive. If we have the 2nd seed we will play the looser of JB McEwen correct? Who is 4 in region 5?

I ain't heard from Butchie either. Maybe the old bear has gone into hibernation.

  6. I'm not doubting #44's leg at all. I've seen him kick it deep. With the defense that JB has, just put them in on punt team and kick off team. If you trust them to get it done at the line of scrimmage, why not trust them to get it done running full speed busting up blockers?

I don't know about ya'll's situation but some teams put the younger players on the kickoff and kickoff return teams to get them some playing time and give the starters more time to rest.

Good luck to both teams. We've played both several times over the last few years and have respect for both.

  7. that was a great game my only issue with it thou is that one of the ref's gave mtp 2 touchdowns there was 1 where he didn't even make it over the goal line ( i was standing right there on the sideline ) and the ref threw up the touchdown and he didn't even mke it in and i didn't see the other one butfrom what i was told david ran the ball right up the middle got stopped and down but they didn't blow the whistle when they should have and the ca guys thought he did so he let go of david and then david moved up a few feet and put the ball over the line then they blew the whistle those were my only two issues beside that ca really did have a bad time holdin on to the ball if they could have held it and not had so many interceptions i think the game might have gone the other way

also congrats to Marshan Armstrong who had an amazing game

Well i was on the sideline at the goal line and David did make it on the first try but was never down, and when the whistle didn't blow he kept pushing and made sure of it. If the boys from CA quit it is their on fault not the refs. Play til the whistle blows every down but especially on the goal line.

  8. A little further digging on those interceptions will find more half of were due to balls passing through receivers hands, off their head or chest and into the hands of the defense due to no fault of the QB. Besides if you pass the ball almost 300 times, 5 % of the time getting an interception can be expected.

I know it was raining and all but the 5 that MP intercepted weren't through the hands of the receiver, off the chest, etc... He just made bad passes. Also either Wayne Co or Collinwood had 5 picks so it seems that when they play someone with a decent defense he gets picked. So 10 out of 17 picks came against 2 teams, maybe he was off on these nights or maybe his receiving corp wasn't up to par, etc.. Could be he doesn't have much to work with offensively but one kid has over 700 yards receiving so they do have some talent. He should get some consideration this year and who knows maybe next year... he is only a Junior.

  9. Preston Gilbreath of mount pleasant

6'5 245 DL & TE I think has been impressive since his fr. yr

He has started since his freshman year. He is regularly double and triple teamed and finds a way into the back field. Played 3 quarters of football with a severly broken hand against Moore County. Wouldn't let the trainer look at it til after the game. Then went and had a pin a plate and 8 screws put in the hand. Tough kid.

  10. yeah thats exactly what yall said about us last year before the semifinal game and how did that turn out? if you think LC is gonna win dont change your mind and say that we will win...that makes no sense

You mis-read what I wrote. Look at the score I posted. I said it back handed, meaning that LC was over-rated and they were going to show McKenzie by getting beat by them.
