  1. I just wanted to give some Final thoughts before I sign off for good.

This season for Hutchison was AWESOME for me personaly and also sad at the same time. These young ladies ended the season 38-13. I got to see my daughter play some of the Best Volleyball of her Career. Although she did not win a State Tournament. She was disappointed but as she told me the next day that she did really made some good friends along way through Volleyball and Facebook. She told me that she and Heather from GPS E-mail each other from time to time. There are others that she is in touch through E-mails that I can't remember there names right now. I guess what I am trying to say, is that, no matter how fierce these 2-competed against each other, there was a friendship that grew from playing Volleyball with each other. That to me is PRICELESS!!!

As far as CoachT goes, I too, have made some really good friends along the way. I had the chance to meet most of the people I met through CoachT at the STATE TOURNAMENT. Pageman, I really wished that I had gotten to meet you sooner. You are truly a GREAT man. I have thoughly enjoyed everyone of your post. VbBruin, it was nice to finally get to meet you and your family. Your oldest is truly an AWESOME player and that younger one will be a force to be reckin with in the future. I look forward to staying in touch with you in the future. Coach Cambell, it was nice to get a chance to visit with you for only a few minutes but thanks for taking the time to speak with me. Magician, thanks for looking me up and coming over to introduce yourself to me. I honestly thought you were someone else. I believe you have everyone fooled on COACHT. Shevolleys, thanks for all the photo's and memories you have left me with. COACH PAUL BROCK, thanks for your friendship. Know that, I will always be a GPS FAN. and by the way, tell Heather, we said HELLO!!!! I look forward to seeing you in the future. TGLJ, it was truly an honor to finally meet you. I only hope that are paths cross again. Hopefully, Club season!!!! You are the BEST LINE JUDGE I have had the opportunity to see in action.

Finally, my only regret is that I did not get to meet the stbulldog. I really thought that you might have come over to introduce yourself to me when we played Father Ryan. I have enjoyed reading your post over the course of the last 2-years. I wish you and Father Ryan the best in the future. Chattdaddy, once again thanks for the kind words and maybe we can meet someday. blackmustang06, thanks for keeping things interesting here in the west with your post. Hope your drive back to Memphis was a pleasant one. Eagle007, with ECS moving down to D-1, hopefully now you can go to the State Tournament. Now for PHARGIS, I came over to you at the Brentwood Tournament to introduce myself to you and the only thing you could say was, I am not Hargis, he will be here in a few minutes. Then, you just walked away from me. How did I know it was you? Well, Pageman pointed you out to me. The way that I look at the situation, is you missed out on a great friendship. Maybe in the future you will not write so many SHORT STORIES and possibly get a good nights sleep.

Once again, I want to thank CoachT for allowing me the opportunity to post and make some GREAT friends at the same time. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE.

    Bigdaddy<

You seem genuine in your thanks to all, and i dont doubt that! i was always thankful to the ones who sent me good wishes also! it is always hard for the end to come, but it does for most. good luck and best wishes to your daughter!

  2. PS We certainly should ask and demand the highest quality officials. But we should also examine and demand that officials be treated with respect and dignity. If sports has the effect on children that many of us believe, then how is this treatment of officials setting a good example for our children. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

ST, you hit the nail on the head with your P.S... i ALWAYS made the effort to at least thank the official(s) for their time and effort, even if their effort lacked some experience, and i respected their attempt to officiate. it is a thankless job, but fans, in particular, have made it that way. their behavior is shameful at times. i don't know of any "employee" who would stand and take the abuse they endure. no wonder really good officials are hard to find.

    Parents, stop acting like children!

P.S. this sport is growing by leaps and bounds, with a high level of expertise and competition... it needs the same in it's officiating

  3. Pantherdad, I am so proud of the Stone Memorial Lady Panthers and their accomplishments. I know you and the whole Panther nation are very proud. Having coached Leslie, Brittany since they were 9 and Mary Kay and Destiny for a year or so, I have known great things would come to them. They are exceptional athletes and have what some people call "IT" whatever it is.

Please pass along to them how proud I am and that I hope they continue having the success they deserve.

    DBKK

Ditto HOPI... Stone worked hard to get there and deserve all the kudos we can give them. They were always fun to play, fun to watch, had great fans who showed respect and supported their girls, and players with great attitudes and respect for their opponents.

Much success to Stone in the future!

  4. Congratulations on your back-to-back championships!

5-Sport, it's been fun talking and typing to you the last couple of years!

The only question left is can the Lady Cats make it 3? Good luck next season!

  5. Congrats to Stone and their fantastic season! I know it was a great ride... I knew 2 years ago you had the "STUFF" to make the State Tournament. It has been fun watching you on the court, and this year, from afar.

    Good luck next season!

  6. KCdaddy, Where have you been? Long time no see or hear from.

    hey JT!

Well, just so happens i joined the circus and i haven't called because they won't let us use the phone! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

Don't tell, but next week Andy the one-legged weightlifter, Skippy the dog-faced boy and i are planning to "hop" over to Bob's Taco Bueno and try to call home. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

    Wish us luck, Lucky!

  7. Hope all you want, now that Catholic is out there is no one standing in Greenbrier's way. It will be an all green halloween. 5-Sport Dad has predicited a repeat all season and he is going to get his wish. It will be a surprise if Greenbrier drops a game from here on out.

I think the "prophecy" that no one is standing in Greenbrier's way is about a 90% given with or without Catholic in the mix. I am, of course, a HUGE Catholic volleyball & school fan, but am not blinded by it. Greenbrier is and has been the BIG and ONLY favorite since winning it all last year. So, the "prophecy" is one everyone else already knew about.

As for the "hope all you want" comment... you obviously don't know me (or maybe as well as you think you do). Anyone who really knows me and the pride I had/have in the Catholic program wouldn't disrespect me or my logically concluded comments about the state tournament now that Cathoic is out of the mix. I respect Coach Jones and his efforts more than even he realizes. Considering the 1.8 mulitiplier, he has done a Superman job developing the talent to compete and win. He has excited the entire school staff/student body in what was before a player's parents only event.

    Lastly, thanks...last post!

    Good Luck Everyone

  8. Good luck to the Lady Cats on another run to the finals this year 5-Sport! Sure have missed all the action since Jess graduated, but have kept up somewhat on here.

I'll be hoping for the champion to come out our district but if not it is what it is...

  9. Congratulations to Stone for all their hard work the last three years. I mentioned to one of the Stone dads last year that 2008 would be THEIR year to win the district tournament. Good work & good luck in the regionals!

Odds are great that Stone and AC will see each other again soon!

  10. So proud of the Page program...successful for years under Tracey Berry and currently lead to success by Mindy Stout with her excellent assistant Amy Markovich. The girls work hard at every school to produce wins and the Lady Patriots are no different. Parents, likewise, work hard to keep a winning program going through fundraising, lobbying for things the team needs with the administration, feeding the girls, helping with tournaments, line judging, etc.

All here know what a huge task it is to keep a winning program going - it's a constant challenge. The commitment to volleyball at all these schools is incredible and I tip my hat to all you parents, kids, and coaches that drive the continuing overall improvement of the quality of Tennessee high school volleyball.

CU, i so agree, the task is huge and takes good coaching, players and involved parents to make a first class program. Four years ago, coming into KC, we knew the program there was well, weak. But, as luck would have it KC decided to invest in what i call a real coach, a true volleyball coach to turn the program around. In those four years Coach Jones took a mixture of minds, bodies and personalities and made them one. Three straight years KC was regluar season district champs & tournament champs, 2 time regional champs and three straight state tourneys. In a program that went from the "easy team to beat" to the "tough team to beat" in basically a year after he got there it was an amazing transformation and a credit to his coaching, player determination, parental support AND support of the KC administration. We can only hope more people like him come into tennessee to coach and high schools look at it like more than secondary sport.

  11. I think no one should overlook Stone Memorial out of District 4 A/AA. They were young and tough this season and return a lot of players for next season. They placed well in the Mid-TN Classic (Silver Division Champs) and have been upping their competition for two years to prepare for their runs at seasons end.

They WERE the third best team coming out of the sectionals even though they never made it out of districts. A shame they play in District 4 with AC and KC. Tough district.

  12. Happy belated Birthday Pageman!

dang, where have i been? almost two weeks late with my well wishes, and i bet the cake is hard as a rock now!

Now, what's this about ending your coverage of volleyball? If true, there will be NO coverage to speak of! As a KC daddy it was difficult enough to just try to post my teams info.

What i am saying is "YOU are the man"! I just know you will be back because for myself i will miss that sense of team and family that seems best during volleyball, and for EVERY team you cover you have family, those who love to see you, talk to you and whisper as you enter the arena "Oh, there's Pageman"!

Dont let that go, its fleeting and my 4 years are done. You have a talent few can claim and that even less have used with the class you always show. From me, thanks... and Happy Birthday!
