1. I don't know how the Region is gonna fall out exactly, but I think those that are puting Springfield at at 4 or 5 are being pretty optimistic. I don't think they will be that high and I am a Jacket myself. After last nights loss to Rossview my hope for them is pretty much shot. I want to know how there coaching staff let's Derrick Smith, the best player on the team, QB/Kicker/Punter get dehydrated. That game should have never gone into OT. I think Springfield will be 6, 7, or 8th on the chart.

  2. Alright season is about to be in full swing baby! We got Northwest today on their home court, but we ended the District season on that court by winning the District tournament and we are gonna start on that court this year proving that we are here to defend. Yellow Jackets gonna repeat and for us it will be a three-peat carried over from our old district!

  3. QUOTE(bellgo @ Feb 21 2007 - 12:34 AM) 826382309I know in the last meeting with Springfield-Clarksville, the officiating was not very good. How was it this time? I bet Utley was a monster on the boards.

Since you asked it was not pretty again. I am not blaming this one all on the refs though. Springfield had their chances and should have put this one away despite the refs. They missed keys free throws and had two horrible possessions that lead to critical turnovers. On that "intentional foul" though, John Mark got fouled first and then he ran the floor and did get ball when he went up. All in all it was another game in Clarksville for the Yellow Jackets.

  4. BOYS

Ok. I am the number one at Spt so I have to lay down my thoughts. The top singles players are myself, the number one from Clarksville, my rival and defending District Champ Ryan Spencer, our number two Justin Hamm, and our number three Jim Morris, who lost to Ryan in the semis last year.

I am looking forward to this season because I want to prove that I am just as good as anyone that steps on the court with me including my rival. I am 1-3 against him. My one win coming in three sets to help us secure the Distrcit team title. I should have won the District. I am not gonna make excuses becasue he beat me fair and square, but I did suffer a wrist injury during the match that kept me out of action for a little while after that, but I am looking forward to improving my record to 4-3 over him and possibly 5-3.

As for the Doubles it is the Boys' from Clarksville and whoever plays doubles for us. Which honetly I do not know who that is yet. Justin and Barrett took District last year and should have won the Region. I think Justin will get a new partner this year since Barrett graduated and will look to defend his Title, whether that is me or someone else.

Team wise on paper the District should be between Dickson Co. and Clarksville. That is on paper though. I know that my boys and I are ready to defend our title and win our third straight Distrcit title in two Districts. I trust my younger boys' to back me up and I plan on leading them to the three-peat.

    GIRLS

As for the girls it is gonna be difficult to knock off the defending champion Wildcats. They have a strong team. Our Lady Jackets have the talent to be competitive it just depends on if they want it or not. If they are willing to work for it then I think you will see them in the Final against Clarksville. Especially since it is 2 out of 3 sets this season like it should have been last year. Yet I digress.

As for individuals I do not know. I do not know enough about the other girls in the District to comment.

surely there will be an upset somewhere, just not sure where.

after the first round games are played at the home site of the higher seed, where are the rest played?

Yeah there has to be an upset somewhere. I do not see it being a cake walk for the Springfield v. Clarksville Final. We all thought that last year and we all know what happened. Personally I hope it is a Springfield v. Clarksville final. That would be an awesome game when played in a nuetral setting and I know the Jackets want another shot at the Wildcats. I do anyways and I am just a fan. Talking to some of our Jacket players I know they are hyped and ready to defend their Title.

sethk.. I will post whatever i want and whenever i want..how about that. I will attack any comment that I want... if you dont like it..dont login anymore!!!

Dude really need to calm down. You can post whatever you want, but sethk can post whatever he wants too. Thanks to sethk for sticking up for me. As for what you asked earlier. I play all sports. As for playing for the high school I am on the bowling team and I play number one on the tennis team. I had someone ask me why you are asking me if I sit at home and watch while your screen name is Watcher. We were just wondering?

  7. QUOTE(bellgo @ Jan 25 2007 - 02:49 PM) 826345703

No, they're not a bad team, but I think they could play smarter. I hope the Jackets bounce back against Rossview tomorrow and take it one game at a time down the stretch.

Yeah they do need to play smarter, I agree with that. They make hasty decisions at times that cost them. I also hope they do not look past Rossview tomorrow after that rough loss against Clarksville. I know for a fact they took it pretty hard. They could go two ways on this, they could look past them and get upset or they can come up fired up and really take it out on Rossview. We will see.

  8. QUOTE(bellgo @ Jan 25 2007 - 12:24 AM) 826344925

I agree, you can't sugarcoat a 20-pt. loss and blame it on the officials and I'm a Springfield fan. I also saw the highlights and they were enough for me.

Bellgo I respect your and UTVols opinions on this, but highlights is not enough. If you were not at the game, you cannot get the real feel of how everything played out. I agree that 20 pints is a large amount, but I do not care how good you are or how well you play you cannot beat the refs or the clock guy who ran twenty seconds off during the fourth quarter after the whistle was blown. The refs had a about a two, maybe three minute time span where they let the boys play and Springfield cut the lead from 14 to 6. Springfield can run with anyone in the District and they will prove that come tournament time.

  9. QUOTE(Jimmy-just-doesn't-miss @ Jan 25 2007 - 10:47 AM) 826345294

Who if anyone has the best chance to give Clarksville a run for their money in the district?

It is either Henry Co. or Springfield. These three teams are clearly head and shoulders above the rest of the pack.

  10. QUOTE(watcher16 @ Jan 24 2007 - 10:34 PM) 826344850

Lambchops.... I'm going to have to talk to the head of this site and make sure that you never post another message again... I mean come on.. you dont lose by 20 plus and blame it on the refs.. you can tell that you have never been around sports and do not have a clue with whats going on. you need to continue what you were doing weather that be helping your mom clean the dishes or cooking dinner but you do not need to post anything else regarding springfield and clarksville..well for that matter basketball in general.. your hurting the game!!

Once you learn the difference between using weather and whether you can come back and talk to me. Until then stay off the computer and take an English class.

  11. Ok. Anyone who was at the game last night, has eyes and knows the rules of basketball knows that the officiating was let's just say bull crap! I just have one question for the officials, How much were you paid?, cause that was the worst officiating I have seen in any game at any level. It was so obvious and so one sided it made me sick. The Clarksville fans were also so obnoxious and disrespectful to our players. I was just extremely disappointed all around. I was looking forward to an extremely competitive, fair, and exciting game between the two best teams in the District and that was ruined by all of the factors above. All I have to say is that the Wildcats better not get upset again in the tournament this year because the Jackets are gonna prove who the best team is in a fair game. The Wildcats may be in first, but they have still not proved that they can beat the Jackets in a fair game when the Jackets are at their best. The tournament will prove everything (if it is a good officiating crew)!

  12. I recognize that Clarksville is a good team, but the team that they played last time is not the same team they will play tonight. Springfield has made vast improvements since the last time these two teams met. The success of the Springfield football team caused the basketball team to get off to a slow start, but Springfield has taken care of that and is now ready and willing to defend their District Title. This is gonna be a great battle between the two best teams in the District. I am looking forward to cheering the Jackets to a victory and avenging that early season loss to the Wildcats.

  13. Springfield is starting to slip and they have lost one or two wrestlers that quit. They lost to Northeast Thursday night and i hope they can fill the spots to hang with Hendersonville, if not they aint going to hang at Region Duals. Well how is the other teams, and im looking foward to next Thursday Springfield v. Hendersonville

  14. :D Now listen up u been talkin very little smack until now lol. Home jerseys thats the 1st of heard of this.. *Smile* I like it lol, Ok here it is in about 6 hrs from now we will kinda no what direction this game is heading in.. Oh and your not gonna like it lol. Also like everyone to come by visit after the game we can discuss who has braggin rights. I will say this, Jackets you men have had a great season. And for whoever wins, take us all the way to STATE.

Wildcats 34 This might be low he he. *wink*

    Jackets 21

    wildcat.gif

    GO WILDCATS!

We will see. I am going the other way of course. You can flip that score in fact. I have not been talking smack, you are right about that. But when Clarksville decides to wear there home jersey in our house that is a major slap in the face that we just cannot have. I just want to know why they think it will be a home game. In week 10 when Clarksville actually was at home, Springfield still had more fans. Like coach chris said. You do not want to step in to our Jackets nest. Especially do not want to aggravate them before you step into it. I am just looking forward to a great, dry game and may the better team of the night win. Then whoever that is go on to represent Region 6 the rest of the way! GO JACLETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  15. Well it's a rematch of week 10 except this time it is on Springfield's home turf get ready cause Springfield is blowing Clarksville out when it is all said and done The Wildcats will be Pussycats because the Jackets are putting the sting to them Friday night It's goin down

Bold words my boy! I agree with you, but do not take Clarksville to lightly. They are a good team. I am really looking forward to this rematch, especially since it will be on a good field. I want to see if any Clarksville fans even show up, since they ran out of the rain last time. I see you at the game. It is going down. One way or the other.

  16. did see you, and love the atmosphere. my girlfrield was with me, and i wanted her to see what playoff fever felt like. Cold weather, good CoCo, Fans cheering, Home team winning, Springfield busting threw the band, and a whole lot of good times last friday night.

yes, we were closest to the score board, in green and gold, she was covered by a green and gold viking blanket, and cheering on our wonderful region. you guys are representing us well, and the winner friday will continue to do so in the ensuing weeks.

Friday, will be twice the hype, twice the crowd, and twice the excitement. I will not miss this game for anything, including RAIN, SNOW, SLEET, OR HAIL.

Who is the man? Springfield or Clarksville

Who to cheer for? Snyder is my old football coach, have some boys i know and like on that team, and a good staff, but Offit & Arrington and your fans have only been good to me threw all this, so I will cheer both on. Quarter by Quarter, but I am back in the same spot friday night. Best view in the house.

4 days till judgement day!!! win or go home!!!! this one is a barn burner!!!!!

We appreciate the support. I am pretty sure you will be on the winning side.

  17. Very good post!! The Jacket should stay focused and not get complacent just because they beat Clarksville once. I know Clarksville is an option team, but I believe they also went to the air on Maplewood as well.

Thanks. I think we have a good secondary too though, with Pardue and Graves showed me something this past Friday with that early interception. I think we have a good enough team on both sides of the ball to take care of CHS. As long as we do not have another wash out. The Jackets should take care of business. i know for a fact they will be ready for the option and Dowlen. There will be no surprises this time.

  18. This goes out to any Jacket football players that may read this. A word of advice, do NOT go into this game thinking you are gonna roll over Clarksville since you already beat them once. This is a new week, and a new game. Clarksville took out a good Maplewood team last week and are not to be taken lightly. I know Coach Offutt told you all of this already I am just echoing it! Just stay focused go out and play your game and you will find yourself playing in week 13.

  19. WOW! I can tell you guys are pumped.. It is very exciting and we all are looking forward to Fri. night.

Now Springfield i want u to have some good stuff on the grill Fri. night, im coming hungry lol.. Lets all have a great time this Fri.. Both teams deserve to be here and may the best one win. And whoever wins i hope goes on to represent our region all the way.. THAT WOULD BE SWEET!

I hope ya'll bring your A game. I want a great game. I was disappointed with the field in Clarksville we did not get to see the great game that it could have been. If it does not rain we will see a really great game, but either way the best team will win. See you there. Let's go Jackets!

  20. how is saying that cwood might not win being disrespectful. if you read my post i am giving cwood a rather good chance to beat jbhs if they have a repeat of friday nights performance but i also say that jbhs has a good chance of beating cwood if they come to play. i don't think that i have ever been disrespectful to cwood and i don't think that i ever will. i can see that cwood has a good program year in and year out and that is something to be respected. but to say that either cwood or jbhs will win in a blowout is being disrespectful to both teams. i see this game being decided by 2 tds or less and the total amount of points being scored at 35 or less. am i still being disrespectful.

remember jbhs stay focused this week and have the best week of practice you have ever had or you WILL, yes thats right, WILL get beat by cwood. not just beat but embarrassed in a way that will make last year's UC game look like a close game. mark my words, if you are not completely focused coming into this cwood game cwood will make fools of you jbhs. STAY FOCUSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice words CPR4u. Let's hope JBHS listens and backs up what you say!

  21. ok. I am taking Jo Byrns to take the State Title this year. I am a Springfield man myself so I do not know to much about 1A, but form what I do know, I do not think anyone is gonna stop Jo Byrns. It is gonna be a whole lot harder for Springfield, but I am still looking for Robertson County to be home to two STATE CAHAMPIOSHIP teams!!!

  22. it is going to be a great game...if it does no rain i dont believe chs can hang with the jackets speed with utley and chatman...either team really doesnt know how good the others passing game is though bc of them neither throwing the ball last game...but im starting to think it is going to be another game like 2 weeks ago bc there is already a chance for rain...but one thing the jackets wont have to worry about is there fans getting out of the rain bc they wont budge at chs there fans ran for the cars while jacket fans stuck it out and kept cheering on there team...im saying jackets by 14 without rain...jackets by 3 with rain

Yeah, if it rains I will still be there for sure. I have waited three very long years for this and the other Jacket fans have waited for 13. We are defintiely not going anywhere, rain, snow, whatever. The Clarksville fans kind of disappointed me at that game.
