  1. At 3:08 on Tuesday, the Times Free Press posted a story by Ward Gossett that E.K. Slaughter took the Cleveland job. Here's the link: http://www.timesfreepress.com/news/2009/ma...b/?breakingnews
  2. Okay here's a real topic for discussion (instead of bickering): What other Rhea County records do you think will be broken this season? If A.J. Brown keeps averaging six catches a game, Mike Kinney's 41 pass receptions for the season, set in 1989, will be toast. Also, Jacob Moffett has scored 32 points on the year. Any chance he could challenge Alonzo Banks' 140 points scored in a 1977? And not to put the horse before the cart, but Cameron Tallent's averaging 12.3 completions a game. If he can stay on pace, he should pass Ryan Sharpe's 1998 record of 117 completions. Can Josh Davis pass Andy Kelly's fabled highest punting average of 44.1 yards in 1985? Right now he's averaging 42.1 yards a punt after three games (according to my stats). Will the boys be able to keep up these kinds of numbers when they face the tougher side of their schedule (McMinn, Walker Valley, Cleveland, Red Bank)?Any thoughts?
  3. I'm fairly confident that the best back in Region 4-4A is Julian Sharp from Rhea County. He has over 1300 yards rushing, has scored 15 touchdowns so far this year. He has averaged 7-plus yards per carry in seven games (three of those games, he averaged 9-plus yards per carry). Julian's numbers are a little misleading since he split carries with Rhea County's other running back Chris Roberts for the first six games of the season (Chris powered 640 yards on 77 carries before breaking his arm in week six). If Julian had been the lead back all season, he likely would have shattered some records.
  4. Okay, I'm looking at the White County roster, and it says they have a junior, Dillion Kay, who is 7'0" and 390 lbs. Junior Dalton Seratt measures in a 6'8" and 345 lb., and those are the biggest guys on the Warriors lineup.
  5. Randy separated a joint near his shoulder, but not his shoulder, during overtime against Cleveland. He'll be out this week most likely.
  6. Who do you propose this fabled tight end to be? As I recall, Douglas is about 6'5" and built like a brick out house and unless you're planning on moving McLeroy over there, I'm not sure Rhea County has the personnel for a dominating tight end.
