I would like to say that Smyrna does have one amazing player... Wilks... last night Sonny would just throw it up anywhere & he wld be there to catch it & off he wld go... he wld be a great asset to any team.. He also took off pretty good on those punt off returns.. Great job Wilks!

Sure it was luck...your team (with a little officiating help) made it a close game but the fact still remains RIVERDALE WON!!! so Smyrna still only 1 win vs Riverdale... yeah Luck

I have a question. In THIS ARTICLE it states "Riverdale's undefeated season and 83-game district/region winning streak is still alive."

 

How can that be? If I'm not mistaken, didn't Smyrna beat Riverdale in the playoffs last year? Isn't that a district/region game? Is this only counting regular season games? Or does this use the same math as Alabama fans that say they have 97 National titles? /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

the 83 game streak is what they consider district / region games...

during playoffs those games are just that playoff games not considered district / region games

those stats are different (no its not the same as Alabama fans) it is the way TN keeps up with wins / loss records /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

GREAT JOB WARRIORS!!! Would guess you are getting used to the bad calls from the refs so maybe that is why that did not affect you so bad... however I am very proud of how the TEAM stood together & pulled this one out!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> You pulled ahead quick and then they pulled ahead ... alot of teams would have given up .. and when the plays & the calls were not going our way you could have given up.... but OH NO!! For those of you that watched it on TV don't guess you got to see the players pulling each other back into the game along with pulling the crowd back into the game... it was intense... and it was RIVERDALE football at its best.. Great coaching to keep these players focused that had to be hard to do during the crazyness... Smyrna will put up 21-28 quick points and then hang on for the win. Riverdale is too soft. They'll get busted in the chops a couple times and quit. same thing they did in the playoffs.

If the D-Line gets to Sonny like they know they can I dont think triple teaming Wilks is necessary...sure Wilks is good, but pressuring Sonny & stopping him is the key! & that the D-Line can do.. Also our O-Line has gotten much better at making the holes for our running backs along w/ the fact that our passing game is a plus this year.. Riverdale has way more "personnel" for them to be concerned about: the entire O-Line!! the QB!!! the running backs!! the entire DEFENSE!! OK so they have Wilks & Sonny & one running back..the key is to get to Sonny & stop him b4 he can do anything w/ anyone else! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Oh PLEASE... Riverdales Defense has really starting playing well together!! last night they not only got to the QB but they were able to stop those long passes which is something they have been unable to do b4.. GREAT job Riverdale & i'm sure you will be just as prepared for Smyrna.. Coaches had done a TERRIFIC job getting u prepared for WC so there is no doubt they will have the WARRIORS prepared for Smyrna.. They played so well as a TEAM it was Great to watch!! I have seen them both, and I would say that Riverdale has the speed advantage, but wc is more physical, and better coached than the dale. I think Wilson Central pulls this one out. 24-21

I will disagree w/ you ... Riverdale is more physical...my gosh w/ the size & strength of the Riverdale guys add that w/ speed that they do have how can you give WC the heads up on the the physical side.. And The coaching.. Well that as well goes to Coach A.. why else would WC coaches have come in the summer to learn from him he if he was not the Best at this type of offense.?? Riverdale has a great GROUP of coaches & they will have the entire team prepared!!

Riverdale is playing GREAT as a TEAM!! and the only reason Bdogg is on here time after time is to try & get into the players minds...guys don't let him succeed!! His team is not a TEAM they are a few players trying to make plays to win a game... you guys are a team & it is driving him CRAZY Why else would he spend so much time on here or any of the Riverdale boards instead of going to the Smyrna boards and talking about his "great & powerful" team?? because they do not have one to talk about!! You & your coaches are doing a fantastic job with each game.. So you loose a few battles during the game..but your coaches learn from them as you do & yall prepare for the next game with more intensity & more drive & the leadership is really there.. Do NOT let him get too you as that is his mission!! You guys have played to well to let some has been wannabe wish I was there.. ruin it for you.. STAY FOCUSED & be thankful you have the coaching staff you have!! They are truly top notch!!

Prayers go out to this young man & his family...as stated earlier this should be the priority of this board not trash talking or proving how much lack of class or lack of respect you have. As this young man struggles we should not continue posting & boasting & trashing about the game.. Thanks 2p for the update & please continue with them.

1st Riverdale has the Field advantage & everyone knows that is a BIG deal at Riverdale

2nd Riverdale Does always play up when they are playing against a team with talent & Riverdale is ready

3rd Riverdales coaching is Great & will have their team focused as always

4th Riverdale has great following (alumni & family)

But will say Wilson Central has one great advantage & that would be their student section!! they have an amazing one & i saw at the WC / Lebanon game.. If Riverdale does not get a Student section together that is Loud & Proud then that could be a factor as they have not really had one to show up & be heard at any home game yet. But is has been a non issue since so many other supporters have been there.

But when it comes down to it ... both teams are great teams & this will be a great game..

Would love for Riverdale to prove to everyone just how good they really are!! Good luck Warriors!! You have the coaching you have the players now focus on the field & follow it through... Best of Luck!!

chokeland hasn't seen anything like the all-stars smyrna has. way too much skill power an speed. okeland just isn't man enough to hang with a bunch of true athletes like the dogs will trot out.

Now for my little pep talk. WARRIORS, and that is what you are, you have the opportunity to prove to a lot of folks wrong. You are now starting the hard stretch and folks want to see you lose, but that is NOT about to happen!

 

You are on track to make alot of folks forget past seasons by your great TEAM play. In years past it was all about one or two 'stars' getting it done. You are where you are because of great team play and listening to a great coaching staff and doing your jobs. No, it does not get individuals names in the paper but it IS effective for the TEAM.
