I believe coach is now going to move spring ball back to starting April 30. If a sport is in season they have priority on athletes. There will be a football booster club meeting (anyone can come) at 7:00 this Thursday in the SQHS cafeteria. Everyone that is interested in getting the things done that Coach has indicated that he wants done should attend this meeting. The projects will be divided up into seperate teams depending on indivudual expertise. If for some reason you cannot attend then get word to someone that you are willing to work. Simply put the time is now. I challenge everyone that has "any" intrest on this program moving forward to attend. It easy to ###### and moan lets see how many are willing to show up and work.

I think your observations are very astute. I think it clearly demonstrates the apathy that is allowed to be the driving force in athletics at SQHS. How could it be anything but a demonstration of the total lack of respect that is given the top boss at SQHS. It has all the appearances that the inmates are running the prison. Where else could that happen. I will quarantee you not in the real world. Well the better hold on. Because if Ronnie Summey is the new AD they are about to get a large dose of the real world. In my opinion there will be several existing coaches that will not be able to deal with expectations that will be handed out and it IS LONG OVERDUE. That good ole boy network that has existed over there way to long is about to come to a sreaching halt! THE BAR HAS BEEN RAISED..... Some are not going to like it. SEE YA!!!!!!! The kids may be about to get a fighting chance in a lot of sports! IMHOP.

I agree coach J is a solid person. Man of character. He is the kind of man you would want to coach your kid. I hope he is retained. Would be a shame if he is not.

He hasn't talked with Coach J as far as I know. Knowing Coach J I would bet he wasn't there Sunday because he hadn't been talked to yet and did not want to seem presumptuous. Just like Coach Summey did not want to talk or do some things till he was official. Coach J is a class guy. Just my opinion I don't know for sure.

I got to thinking about your post( I know scary thing) and reason #2 seems to indicate that your presence in the rec. league where you said you coached your son influenced the amount of time your son got to participate? Did you feel he played more or less because you were one of his coaches?

No offense but I found your post very comical. I know your hear what you hear but man that is way out there. First on the "to powerful issue"do you think an organization is all that powerful when this happens to them. The booster club was told by the principal that they could have a concession stand for visitors in the end zone. The booster club installed a power pole with power and had a building moved to a tune of over 600.00. When the BAND complained the principal then told the booster club they could no longer do the visitor concession stand. Now when your football booster club gets bumped by the band I think you can throw the "too powerful" issue right out the window. I have not been to all the meetings but the ones that I have been to I did not sense or see any bickering at all. In fact quite the contrary I thought the meeting was pleasant and moved smoothly along for those type meetings. As far as "large donators" I assume you mean donors, seemed odd for I have heard them on several occasions talk about needing to raise money. I know there treasurer and he is as good as they come for details. If their was any kind of large donation I am sure he would have it recorded. I would imagine that anyone could would be encouraged to look at there books instead of making accusations. I was given this list some time ago of what the booster club has accomplished in a little over two years. I think it is a pretty impressive list and in know way represents the image that was portrayed to you There is a state of the art weight room that is about 3000 square feet. They went from being able to work out 8 or 9 kids at a time to over 50 at a time, a $20,000.00 dollar investment paid for in two years. A brand new practice facility with sod and a irrigation system, that was over $10,000.00 new this year, and paid for. New computer hardware,film analysis software, DVD duplicator and projection system for film break down and film study $4000.00 new this year and paid for. Of this list the only thing that I am aware of that a donation was made toward was from a Madisonville business man made toward the sod for the practice field and he is not even a member of the booster club. The booster club president lives in Vonore I don't think he would mind discussing this with anyone. Seems to me a straight up kind of guy. IMHOP

My understanding is that PF did not offer YET, they have more interviews to do. It is also my understanding that Administration has been in contact with him. I personally believe this guy would be a great AD as well. He has done it before. EVERYONE needs to call out to Oak Grove and strongly encourage them to get this done ASAP. He will be a great asset for Coach Summey and the community.Every place he has been hated to see him go. He is a very good man!!!!! Twenty years experience doesn't fall in your lap everyday! If they offer assistant coach and AD it would be a done deal. IMHOP

You seem to have a personal score to settle here. I have talked to many people and I have heard NO ONE voice your desires that the current volunteer coaches quit on these kids. There may be a small miniority of disgruntled parents blaming them about playing time. All I have heard is praise and appreciation for the work and dedication they have shown over the last couple of years. For you to try and hang a 3-17 record on those guys is absurd. Why don't you ask coach J what he thinks of them and how hard they worked, how dedicated they were. Ask Coach Black you didn't seem to include him so ask him see what he says. I know what he will tell you, becuase he has allready told me. I doubt you want the truth though. Coach Roberts opens the weight room 3 times a week at 6:30 in the morning ALL off-season! Thats EIGHT months! 3 times a week so some of the kids can work out and still hold a job. No one else out there has "volunteered" to do that. In the summer time if it weren't for Coach Dave and Coach Roberts there wouldn't have been any summer conditioning program because they showed up EVERYDAY after working all day. Sometimes with over 40 kids between the two of them. I will bet you those two put in more hours than anybody and got NOTHING for it. You seem to question Coach Dave's football knowledge. Again ask Coach J or Coach Black what they think. Anybody with any sense can talk DrDave for 5 minutes about football will tell you he knows what he is doing. Coach Dave has been approached by McMinn County (someone from Athens that should know told me this). So lets see he is good enough for 5A McMinn county but not good enough for Sequoyah come on! They are both quality men that has tried to help every kid out there, heck coach Roberts even goes and picks kids up in the mornings so they can get to workouts. I could go on and on. In my honest opinioin Sequoyah High School has been lucky to have them.

Trust me Red White and Blue is no coach! You don't know what you are talking about. Went over there budget? (Pay)Not even been discussed as of yesterday. You cannot sign a contract that has not been approved yet Einstien. Some of what you say may be in the works but that is no scoop. Yo!

There is no excuse, NONE! To have this going on in a interview says volumes about WHY they have some of the problems they have. How bush and unprofessional. Why would ANYBODY want a job after going through that. I tell you what if they worked for me I would fire them on the spot!!! I wouldn't put up with that crap for one second. The kids deserve better than that. A lot of people have been mislead. They were told "we are going to hire the most expeirenced head coach we can" Bull crap! Nothing against Coach Summey at all, but if you are going to hire the local guy then go do it and don't blow smoke up everyones butt! With the people that applied or so I am told WHO KNOWS!!! It is a real mind blower! Everyone speaks very highly of Coach Summey and I am sure he is a good man from everything I have heard. When you compare credentials based on what THEY said they were going to do it makes no sense based on THERE original guidelines. I think ELA hit it dead on they knew what they were going to do before the process began. I suspected this was what was going on in the interviews anyway. Trauma's post should be reduplicated in the local paper!!! Right is Right and Wrong is Wrong. Caesar I agree with you 100%. I believe what has been posted here represents the minority and not the majority. I have tried to stick to the facts and expose misinformation. Maybe in hindsight not the smartest thing in the world to do, because of the perception it gives to the outside world. It is real hard to just leave things like that on the table. There are a lot of great people in these community's and I hate to see them misrepresented. The bottom line is that from a lot of fronts in Monroe county the kids deserve better than they have been getting. I pray that will change in the future.

I have pointed no fingers at anyone. All I have tried to do is stick to the facts as I know them to be true. I have addressed issues with facts where I KNOW the statements being made are simply not true. If you think that is a truly good example of what is wrong with SQHS you are entitled to your opinion. Have I misstated anything in my post? Have I made any statements that you know not to be true? Have I called anyone names? I have called people out that are misrepresenting the truth. My identity has nothing to do with my spine.

You never addressed your accusations with facts just talking in more circles to hide the real truth that you have zero facts in some of the accusations you have made.So you think a loan taken out by the booster club to refurbish a weight room to a state of the are facility stuck it to the kids? Lets see they went from being able to work out six kids at a time to fifty kids at a time, yeah thats sticking it to them CB. In fact the issue with volunteer coaches is simply sour grapes. Everyone knows that you wanted a volunteer position. You did not get it so you have made up lies. The fact is YOU were the only person that pursued a volunteer position. The fact is one of the volunteers was asked by then head coach Curley to help the next year. After he(Curley) was let go he(volunteer coach) was asked again to help before the current former head coach was hired. He told them to wait and see what the coach they were going to hire wanted to do because he might want someone else. I KNOW this is a fact because I heard that conversation with my own ears. The other volunteer coach was asked by the former coach himself to help. Neither applied or pursued the job unlike yourself. I know them both. You are way out of line but that is not unusual for you now is it. I might be wrong on this but have been told that you hold the record for being thrown out of Vonore Rec. league ballgames! I will be sure that Coach Evans, "half pint Roberts, the good Dr., the family of the late Hink Ingram be made aware of your comments about them on a message board. You going to fast for me? ha not now, not ever. Now your comments on Satterfield pertaing to the last hire for the most part from what I know are correct. I for one can't comment on who did not want him, principal, AD, Jenkins or Superintendent because I simply do not know, but it does appear it was someone and that fact will become more apparent in the days to come.

The former coach had the final say so in his volunteer coaches and he knew the schedule when he took the job so to say he had "all this crammed down his throat" is not accurate either! I agree with some of your post but the inaccuracy and misinformation(total lack of any truth) of a big part of your post invalidates most if not all of what you say. You did have initial support though coach and that was the question. I also believe you had the final say so in the last "three" coaches that were payed a stipend. You did do some good things coach and tried to improve a lot of things for the kids and there is no question that you were handcuffed to some degree on some of your assistants.

Bill49 I was not talking about you. You are entitled your opinion. I may have a little more information than you on this particular situation and I have no desire to slam anyone. Or as you put it talk about a former coach. I just don't believe in putting on to what I believe to be a facade and I had heard enough. There are two sides to a story. I agree that crossed the line to some degree and I do apologize for that. I still stand by what I said.

There are many things in THIS post I do agree with , but some I don't. The former coach was given the support he needed to get things done that fact just simply cannot on "any" intelligent level be disputed. He was not set up for defeat. It just did not happen. As for his "previous record" he had no previous record. I don't blame him for taking the job and I agree he should have never been hired. I also don't see Dave Evans handling that conversation the way you say it happened, I can't say for sure because I wasn't there, it just doesn't sound like any dealings I have ever had with coach Evans. In fact Coach Evans left his AD position largely for frustration on dealing with issues in the county that he could not change to better the program. Not for some sweet deal at Rural Vale?( I assume you are being sarcastic) Lastly you did not address the inaccuracies of your previous post, I am sure that was just an oversight.
