Hey I remember both of you. If you find any old archives let me know. Both Steve Dodson and I lost all our old news paper clippings. We need to get together for a reunion! I'd like to get the teams from 1975 - 1985 back together. Ed D

It saddens me to tell you that Bill Whittaker the former wrestling coach for Antioch High School passed away this morning. I don't have any details other than it happened this morning. I heard it from another former teacher who said the family has not made any arrangements yet. She said more than likely he will be at Hickory Chapel in Antioch TN. I considered Coach Whitt a friend. He once told me "Parker when it's all said and done you might have five people that you can truly call friends". When I think about it he was pretty close to being right. I first met him when I was in Jr. High at Apollo back in the late seventies. He allowed me to come and workout with the high school team and instilled a love for the sport of wrestling in me that will last a lifetime. I coached some club teams and helped with my sons middle school team and I was glad to be able to share that part of my life with my son. During the seventies and eighties we had some fairly sucessful teams at Antioch under Coach Whitt and Alvin Jones. I'll miss him just knowing he's not around. I never met a student that did not like Coach Whitt. He helped me out a lot and always had some good advice. I have to agree with Rigger hear. Region 6 is really tough. It's sad we can't take 4 guy's from every weight class to state. Some good wrestlers will be staying home. Two Things: 1) A little smack talk like this thread makes for good friendly rivalry. 2) Let's see how the points stack up at state by REGION. Who wants to keep the score per region and post it?

I'll have to agree with you on that one waro, They've not wrestled any tough teams. Who is going to be at the Indy Tourney?

Surely there can't be more than one Jeff Williams in Mt. Juliet. I wrestled with a Jeff and Sid Williams a long time ago at Apollo and Antioch. You guy's will really have fun with the clubs. My son and I spent 4 years at the Williamson County Wrestling club and traveled all over the southeast wrestling. He's a senior now so I'm thinking about doing the club thing again next year. Glad to see new clubs in the Middle TN area. We need to up the anti for the Chattanooga guys! Have Fun Eddie Parker

Does anybody know if this is a dual team tournament or an individual tournament? How will seeding take place? There will be some heavy hitters there for sure. Should be fun!!
