I hope we win, and win two more, but we will not beat CPA by 4 TDs. That's the kind of talk I am talking about.
My son and all of his friends think they are walking into the state championship. Before the CPA game last time, they respected CPA and the possibility that they could beat them. After they beat CPA, it was a total change in attitude, and I don't like it.
I told my son this morning as we watched Georgia knock off Auburn that the better team doesn't always win. He asked me what I thought about the CPA game and I told him that I thought that Goodpasture was definitely the better team, but I hope coach tells them differently. I don't think they are focused. He assured me that they respected CPA and knew that it would be much closer if not played in the mud. He says that CPA's QB is the best that he has ever seen in HS, and that they had the Goodpasture defense picked apart, they just dropped some key passes. CPA has one receiver, and they shut him down. But if the other receivers step up, CPA could have beaten them.
The focus this week will be defending those quick passes that CPA throws.
I think it will be low-scoring, relative to what these two teams are used to.
Heart Says Goodpasture 28, CPA 24
Mind says CPA 24, Goodpasture 21
