  1. I hope we win, and win two more, but we will not beat CPA by 4 TDs. That's the kind of talk I am talking about. My son and all of his friends think they are walking into the state championship. Before the CPA game last time, they respected CPA and the possibility that they could beat them. After they beat CPA, it was a total change in attitude, and I don't like it. I told my son this morning as we watched Georgia knock off Auburn that the better team doesn't always win. He asked me what I thought about the CPA game and I told him that I thought that Goodpasture was definitely the better team, but I hope coach tells them differently. I don't think they are focused. He assured me that they respected CPA and knew that it would be much closer if not played in the mud. He says that CPA's QB is the best that he has ever seen in HS, and that they had the Goodpasture defense picked apart, they just dropped some key passes. CPA has one receiver, and they shut him down. But if the other receivers step up, CPA could have beaten them. The focus this week will be defending those quick passes that CPA throws. I think it will be low-scoring, relative to what these two teams are used to. Heart Says Goodpasture 28, CPA 24 Mind says CPA 24, Goodpasture 21
  2. I'm not a CPA supporter either, I went to and my son attends Goodpasture, but all I heard this week from the Camden people was that they would win by 3 TDs. I know very little about CPA, but I knew that they had an outstanding QB and that they could have beaten Goodpasture. Attention Football experts: A 35-21 game can be a one play difference. It wasn't, but it wasn't a blowout either. CPA couldn't stop Goodpasture, but Goodpasture had some trouble with the CPA spread offense. Lots of drops by CPA receivers. I have a lot of respect for Coach Matthews and what he has done, I think they knock Goodpasture off this week. I don't like the "can't be beat" attitude that our kids have, including my son.
  3. Looks like Goodpasture and CPA dominated Region 6's big boys tonight. I saw predictions of a Lewis County upset and a 3 TD win by Camden. That horrible CPA team was only up 36-0 at the half, on the road. I don't know the details, but there must have been some mistake. There is no way that CPA is better than Camden, much less by 36 first half points. You Region 6 rednecks have humored me. Now its time for the real football to begin. So here we are, heading into the third round (championship game) next week. Goodpasture knew they would play CPA. CPA knew they would play Goodpasture. My early prediction is that CPA doesn't make the same mistakes they did in the regular season finale and beats Goodpasture. Lowery is the best QB in 2A and will probably play D1 ball. And he's just a junior, so you necks have to put up with him next year too. He had 34 TDs heading into tonight (he may have 40 before the night's over). And Camden fans, where was our valet service to park our cars? Do they not have culture over there?
