  1. UM not exactly sure but i know for a fact that he asked some of the mccallie football coaching staff to travel with him to Brentwood next year!BUT just becuase he asked, doesnt mean they will go, but only time will tell ill keep you posted as more infomation is released!
  2. um as far as players go 1. Reggie Poindexter JR RB ( 2 year starter) 2.Jonny Newman Jr. QB/ H-back ( can play about any postion on the field) 3. Will Bilble Jr. MLB/FB ( started Jr. year) 4. Jay Fullum So. SS/FS ( impact player on the defense, may carry the ball some on Ofense) 5. Josh Bang Jr. DE( 2 year starter) 6.Rivers Myers Jr. CB( started mid-way through season) 7. Guerien Higgins So. CB( hard hitter/ big play maker) 8. Rico Henderson SO. WR ( speed, and great hands/ lacks size) 9. Gavin Foxx SO. OL ( Started mid-way through season) Oh yeah and you can forget Jarrod Coleman! Little brother of B.J. Coleman ! Well little brother is an understatement seeing Jarrod is 6'2 or 6'3 and has a arm just like B.J.'s!
  3. Do you think he is ready for D-II AAA football! Only the biggest and the best play is this divison, and it takes more then just creativty to win!Norte Dame and McCallie have two completely different groups of boys! McCallie has some of the best players from around the United States( Florida, Nevada, Texas, Maryland, just to name a few)Can he adjust to agressive style of football the Elite Eight has to offer! If so then he'll fit in good with the plan and direction McCallie is headed for! If not, ppshh dont even bother!
  4. But the question is, how did he know>?? He must have had some kind of inside, and when i say inside im meaning INSIDE CONNECTION~! becuz the mccallie football coaching staff didnt even know!
  5. OK yea i remeber readin back durnin like the 2nd week of the season you sayin this, but seriously why would we believe you! I mean thats like me( someone that has no relationship wit OHS) saying that Brain Marshall is transferring to Howard! The fact that you arent afilliated with mccallie is even more reason not be believe you, oh yeah and doesnt help that you a fan of Ooltewah, the school that happens to be known as the best football team in chattanooga, besides McCallie, buts thats a completely different topic~! i JUST GOTTA KNOW, HOW DID YOU KNOW??
  6. Come on now seriously! how do you sleep at night knowing you just up and left the place you have called home for bascially your whole life, without addressing the people who dedicated their summer to lifting and running! The people who made a choice to give 110 % in 100 degree heat during 2-a-days at a 2 week football camp! All I ask for is a simple 'good bye" maybe an explanation! If thtas asking too much please let me know?
  7. Potter will def. be missed at McCallie ! and it will be very hard to fill his shoes, but hey someone's gotta do it!
  8. One thing that really bothers me is the whole thing about Potter joining the BA staff right away! IM confused on exactly when he will begin he duties at BA! Although a new chapter has began in his life, he hasnt ended the perivuos chapter at mccallie, or with his players! Dont you think he owes it to them to at least address them about the move!( which he hasnt done yet).. thoughts.. comments.. anything please?
  9. Brandon100 thats a great question, honestly i wouldnt wanna be the person who makes that choice! Hopefully Bill Cherry will( McCallie athletic director) choose the best candidate for the job that will lead McCallie down the right path in the future!
  10. I just hope Potter can juggle both Head Football and athletic director. Not saying he cant do it, becuase i believe he can. its just that they play in such an aggressive divison that its gotta be hard to not show more focus towards one, while neglecting the other! I know at McCallie this problem never ocurred, due to the fact that Potter was a History teacher. Not taking anything away from teachers who are also coaches but he only taught maybe 1 or 2 classes, leaving the rest of his time to focus on football! good luck Potter, you will be greatly missed~!
  11. UM Apparently you havent been to a mccallie game.Although yes Jesse may score alot of the points, who do you think it is that creates such good looks for him! Havin played wit and seen walt play, it hurts me to even hear you say he isnt a key player. Walter is the leader on the court, I really cant exaplin it but he creates certain situtions on offense that set up teammates,( like jesse) for the open shot! Now on paper he might only get cerdit for an assiant, BUT McCallie is without a doubt a completely different team with and without Walter Dozier!
  12. ummm once again not to take anything away from that but, McCallie and Marion County are not on the same level and im sure Im not the only one to think that! Therefore explaining why I would not happen to know that, seeing that I dont keep up with Marion County football, but im sure he is still a fine coach! But the question is is he ready for D-II AAA Prep football, also known as the Elite Eight>?
  13. ooh yeah Did I forget to mention BA has lost to McCallie 3 years in a row during the regular season, BUT has beaten McCallie in the playoffs all 3 of those years!! If that wasnt enough to make this rival big, now the former McCallie head coach is coaching at BA! Both teams will be trying to prove something when they meet. BA will be trying to prove that Potter made the right decision by joining their staff, while McCallie will be trying to prove that although Potter's gone, they can still be the Same aggressive team with or without him! This Makes for a very interesting and phsycial battle and I dont wanna miss it!!
  14. Not to sound dumb or anything but, who might that be?
  15. Umm McCallie just got a new Defensive coordinator, so im thinking that wouldnt be a possible pick, but maybe.Although both Coach Smith and Coach Delaughter were highly involved in the offense, Potter was responsible for the majorty of the offensive progression. McCallie needs to find someone with the same nack for offense as Potter has, in order to fill his shoes!!
  16. Im not exactly sure what McCallie is gonna do now that Potter has relocated to BA! Coach Bibee might be a canidate and i see no reason why he wouldnt be, afterall he is a really good coach. It just so happens that he didnt have the Key players that McCallie had and Baylor felt as though he was necessarly "getting it done". But with Coach Whit now at mccallie who knows what the future holds! But one thing is for sure, dont be surprised if the McCallie vs. Brentwood game becomes a BIGGER rival than McCallie vs. Baylor!!!!!
  17. Ralph Potter, McCallie varsity football coach since 1997, announced he will become the athletics director and varsity football coach for Brentwood Academy in Nashville, effective January 3. The 1981 graduate of McCallie and son of 21-year head coach Pete Potter served as coach for a decade, earning a record of 76-37 during that time. His 2001 team went undefeated and won the state championship, and the Blue Tornado fell short in the state finals two other times. "Of course we're sorry to see Ralph leave McCallie," said Athletic Director Bill Cherry. "Except for a brief period, he has been part of the McCallie family since his father became our head coach while Ralph was in elementary school. He has done a wonderful job leading our football program, and we wish him well with his new challenge." Kenny Sholl, Head of McCallie's Upper School, said the school would immediately begin its search to replace Mr. Potter. "This is a wonderful place to teach and coach, and we look forward to finding an excellent coach, who is an outstanding role model, to work with our young men." "We wish Coach Potter our best," said Headmaster Kirk Walker. "We appreciate his years of dedicated service to McCallie as both a coach and a teacher."
  18. Congrats to BA on the Win last night! Hands donw, Ford and White are two of the best Running backs Mccallie had played against! Their ablilty to break tackles and out run defenders is a rare one! IM just sad Mccallie's D couldnt stop them! On the other hand i think McCallie played well at times and at other times, well i think you get the point!personally things didnt go as i hoped they would have but the better team won i suppose!
  19. Its nice to know that someone out there is checkin' ( and yes a said CHECKIN) My spelling. But for your information, I dont attend McCallie. Unlike all the other jealous people out there i happen to believe McCallie has a good team. Alot of my friends go there, thats why i support them!So maybe next time you should get yo facts striaght before you talk, it would make YOU look alot more EDUCATED! buts good try anyway!
  20. ok all this talk is nice but seriously someone get a grip, that was the 1ST GANE OF THE SEASON! that was at lest 13 weeks ago. Now last time i checked this was about Mcallie and BA not the Mccallie Riverdale game! LETS STAY ON TOPIC, MMK? McCallie-31 BA-20
  21. Yes you are 100% correct about that, the score was 28-14 at the half. I must have gotten the half time score confused with one of McCallie's other large number victories!
  22. If Maryville plays like they did against Brainerd, then Red Bank will walk all over Maryville.. Even though they are supposed to be the best team in Tennessee!Only time will tell. Good luck to both teams!
  23. While both teams are very strong and have alot of talent, im going with mccallie. I know that Brentwood lost thier starting tailback Chirs Jordan to a leg injury and now are looking for backups Ford and Caffee, to step it up. Although ford ran all over Mccallie last year and was then a starter, McCallie seems to get better every week. Although McCallie won the frist meeting wit BA 28-21, McCallie lead at half time 28-0. But Brentwood is known for steppin it up when it comes to playoff games. I believe Brentwood has been to the last 3 or 2 state games and lost them all. This will be a well fought game between 2 very good teams!good luck to both teams, McCallie by 14!
