  1. We nearly always use a 2 man ref system, except in post-season of course... It may make our games rougher, but we get used to it... There is also the deal of money, which you guys have mentioned. Ref's cost around $55 each I think coach said (a year or two back). That's $110 for a two man system, and $165 for a 3 man. But with gate, we usually raise around $115 to $125 at most. Probly not even that half the time. And I promise you my school won't keep soccer if it costs us around $40 a game, expeccialy when were not winning. So for us, it becomes either bad reffing (which u get used to) or possibly not having a team. Pretty easy choice. Yea, preferrably every team has a 3 man system, but realisticly, not all teams can afford it...
  2. I personnaly think this district is very underrated when it comes to competitivness against itself. Though for years Grace won District, then CSAS has came in and got it ever since, there seems to be pretty good competion. For example District games last year included: A 1-0 win by Boyd over sequoyah, which went into overtime, and had Sequoyah a man down. Central (the #5 seed) beating the #4 seed Sweetwater on a Late PK. I could give a pretty decent list, but it would mostly be SQHS doing stuff. seeing I'm from SQHS I know it more then other schools. But point is, aside from top spot, every team usually proves to be able to make a fight for a good rank in the district. We always tend to have good games within the district. I can never truely predict the rankings. But congrats to both teams for good games played. Bigger congrats to CSAS for pulling out the win.
  3. Sequoyah plays them tommorow, at SQHS, at 6. We/I've never played them before, and heard little about them except they are supposed to be very tallented. We've played very sub-par so far this year, and are itching pretty badly for it to be soon, preferrably before spring break (next week). So we'll see how good they are tommorow.
  4. SQHS had the first game of they day against Loudon, and tied 1-1, due to a own goal by a defender of ours. (he's had fun since then, hehe...) Then we lost 2-0 to Hixson, and then a close game but we messed up 1 time, which led to a 1-0 loss to Rhea County. As previously said, this is a jamboree, with horrible weather. Means nothing,
  5. Kinda off-topic, but care to mention how Boyd is this year?
  6. Sequoyah plays Loudon at 8 A.M., an unannounced team at 11:30, and Knox Central at 3:00.
  7. We (sequoyah) play in it, but as of yet, I know nothing of our schedule. And i actually like Jamboree's. I feel you can test things, and you get to see alot of other teams play. Though twenty minutes, (or however long) isn't much, you can still do alittle in the time. But i'm a player, so it could just be me, and coaches just normally hate them or something.
  8. I think back my freshmen year we ran a flat back, but we have since turned into a Diamond D. But our defense has alot of speed, and quality defenders. We allow our defenders, any of them, to come up if they feel they possess a chance to score. Nearly everyone of them can make it back to the D from the other side of the field before the ball can. We also just cover for one another, if one person leaves his position, the person who's position he takes, takes the defenders old one till the defender gets back. Just standard soccer stuff.
  9. Thoughts and prayers go with him. I had another friend up there too. Crazy stuff, hope for the best for everyone involved.
  10. I just rambled off the teams from last year. I saw the others on the list when i checked out the district on this site, but i figured that might just be a whole list of teams that would be if they had a team... sorry for missing anyone.
  11. Any thoughts at all? Boyd Buchanon Grace Academy Tyner CSAS Sequoyah Tellico Sweetwater McMinn Central Silverdale. Pretty sure that's all. Of course the popular favorites are CSAS. But anyone know of anything else in this district? Best team? Biggest Surprise team? Anything?
  12. Yea, I know it can't be required, I just like griping... But yea, it's very annoying. And I play for Sequoyah. Monroe county, in between Chat and Knox. BURRRNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!! Sorry... I had to.
  13. We don't even have tryouts. This year we started conditioning the first couple of days after second semester began. (Last year we started around November.) We just run from then to the first official practice, and whoever shows up on practice day, is on the team. We usually get up to running acouple of miles straight, but don't usually have any requirements. It kinda stinks because you can miss all of conditioning and still be on the team, but that's just how it works.
  14. Figures... I guess all coaches are the same... You sad sad people.
  15. I'm wondering if Sequoyah and the other two Monroe county teams (Tellico, and Sweetwater) are in the Chatt area? I assume so seeing we're bordering McMinn. If so, I'm wonder if the writer even checked up on our teams. My sequoyah team lost 5 seniors, including 3 forwards, a midfielder, and a keeper, but we have around 8 returning seniors. I feel after placing third in the district last year with an overtime, 10 on 11 man loss, we can compete for our district. Considering we beat Grace last year, and i like to consider we played with CSAS for a little bit (may not be true, but it feels good to say, hehe...) I figured we might have something. Is Grace back to their old form this year? (not meaning we're better then anyone, I'm just wondering if we had even been mentioned by anyone...)
  16. Sounds like an amazing idea. Shows the differences between coaches... My coach won't go outside if it's 30 degrees, and beautiful weather, and here you guys are scheduling a midnight game. Sounds like fun. Best of luck to both teams.
  17. Midway by 23. Watched Midway the other night. Very good team.
  18. Great game to both teams. Very fun to watch, albit a bit disappointing. But some things just aren't meant to be. A note to any ND parent, fan, player or coach reading this: Me and a friend stayed after the game waiting to find his brother. We saw Caleb Bowers talking to who I presume was his mom. A Notre Dame player came up to him, and shaked his hand and told him he played good. This was after the game, and there was no reason for him to do this. It was just out of sportsmanship and respect. I have much more respect for the Notre Dame program due to this. Good job to you guys, and gl.
  19. Danny (Can't remember his last name for some reason) from Sweetwater had a great one against us. A good 25+ yard shot. Jesse Gonzalaz (SQHS) had a good 35+ yard shot against Oliver Springs, but it was in a scrimmage...
  20. I actually like that idea alot. Not only does it stomp decimations, it also rewards teams for doing well in the regular season. In our district this year, Tellico's last game of the season was against CSAS. They came into that game knowing they were beat I'm sure. So they got beat 3-1. But then districts started, and guess who they played? They came back to face a team who's back-up's played mostly against them im sure, and beat them. It would stop team's from playing back to back games against each other, and less games where you know you have no chance. Awsome way of doing it in my opinion.
  21. I'm not really for or against the system too much. But using these two teams as an example. I truely have no clue how this thing works exactly, but i'm guessing the next possible chance for CAK and Catholic is state finals??? Say they meet. The game is played, and it does in overtime. Something goes wrong with catholic's Defense, and CAk scores. The game ends 1-0. I feel it would be wrong for CAK to be the champions in this case, when Catholic has been them multiple other times. Of course, i could be wrong and it work nothing like this. And sounded like a great game. Wish i could come up and watch CAK or some of the big name teams in Knox play someday. Best of luck to both teams in the road to the Spring Fling.
  22. Err... he was on there for a little while, and i know a 2 is somewhere in his number. The ball tall black guy with alot of hair? ring a bell?
  23. I figured it was something like this. It had just amazed me how it happened. Wasn't sure if possibly got a bit careless at times, or what. Figured it was JV though. And, after i sent that, my comp wouldn't load the site again... Dang thing.
  24. I'm pulling for CSAS, let's say a bit more high scoreing then last time, barely. 2-1 in Overtime, off a Cornerkick, headed in by #2. (i think it's #2, the big tall forward they have, that's currently in the picture on CoachT home.) Hey, i'm specific, but you just wait...
  25. CASA's defence was pretty good against us, even if we didnt play as good as we could, and should had. (no offense meant to CSAS, it was probly you gusy that stopped us from doing that) I admit though, in Central's game agaisnt them they were very weak. And they aslo got scoed on by some weak teams, Tellico and tyner being two. Maybe their defense ain't weak, just not consistent??? Eh. I thought about 3-1, but decided CSAS would do better. I was off by one... Side note: Hehe, this site never worked on my comp till tonight. YaY!
