SORRY!!!! Just trying to get names and ideas out there!!! Some of the things I have mentioned are possible. they just need to be put into motion. As for little jordan.....Ask him and coach middleton about the McGowans. Shawn coached the oldest McGowan and coached or coached against some former big names from oakland. Hicklen, King, Sharber. he still talks to several ohs families. But his whole family truly loves smyrna, I mean they own the mascot!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Just putting the name out there. Kind of a what if. Maybe someone who can make that decision will read it and think....wow what a great idea!!

oakland does have a CAD class. however, i don't think the teacher is going anywhere soon. You are good!!!!! It would be hard for him to leave now he is close to his players especially Sonny. But i wouldn't mind seeing him on the sidelines!!!!! Plus i believe he can teach math and a business class

Those coaches aren't the one i'm talking about. This coach has many personal ties to murfreesboro, and especially to former and current students at oakland. He's a very influential coach. I would put him in the same category as a Coach Fields. He loves to coach and could help out with more than just football. Here's a name that you oakland fans will love to hear.....Lets get Aaron Wells on staff. I know for a fact he would love to be back here!!!! We just need a teaching spot to open up!!

About Oakland's new administrator....Bruce Hicklen!!! Former OHS coach, Principle at Giles Co., and the Assistant Principle at Blackman HS. plus he and Mr. Vaughn know each other well. Coach Hicklen's son played baseball with Mr.Vaughn's son in high school. also Bruce's oldest son played football for Oakland. He could also help out coaching. I think he could bring some much needed nastiness, toughness, and more discipline. Now before you come after me, I know that oakland got tougher and had almost no discipline problems. But this is another coach with winning experience. But you would have to convince him to stop working for his oldest son which i think is a stretch. Also heard through the grapevine that a smyrna coach would love to be at oakland if a job opened up. Not as an assistant principle, though. If this is true, it would be welcomed with lots of excitement.... I won't say who but it is an assistant. thats all I will say. GO PATRIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just hope the other schools in the county don't start crying to the school board like they did when Oakland was the first to build a locker room and batting cage for its baseball team!!! No county money went into that, like our new football facility, but everyone knows how that ended up. everyone else got help from the county to build.......except Oakland!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope the other schools step up and do it on their own too. Coach fields won't go anywhere. he is too good of a recruiter....Not that kind, but a "hallway recruiter" he will find kids who should or need to be playing football and convince them to play. That may be the most important coaching position in high school football!!!! I was using michael as an example of how much kids talk and how you can't take these rumors for more than face value untill they come to fruition, no matter how rliable your source is. i never thought he was going and i never thought i would get a reaction like that...My bad!!!

The o-line did not perform up to par last year. All i said was riverdale players were talking to mcgowan means absolutely nothing. he loves ohs. everyone here knows how these kids talk. I garauntee the conversation sounded similar to this....."it would be fun to play together like we all did at Central." Just talk. all he would have to do is move. but it ain't happening!!!! Don't talk about mcgowan's lack of heart. ask the coaches about his heart. Precious could move but it is unlikely right now. Remember, his father is one of the brave soldiers defending our country!!!!!

Oakland is running a new offense. Wing-T. too late if you ask me. Should have ran it last year with the athletes they had. Polk, A.McGowan, Precious, M.Mcgowan. No qb for next year either. However coach cowan and linell will call plays!!! I hope they will be open to making HALFTIME ADJUSTMENTS!!!!!!!! Collins will not be at oakland. a source tells me that a past incident will prevent him from being an administrator. Hope that is wrong though!!! Michael McGowan-----2007 defensive MVP!!!!!!!!! MAYBE at oakland Maybe not!! Heard some riverdale players have been talking to him. Doubt it though his family are patriots through and through!!!!!!!! Heard that Precious might not be back. Sam Bass, Precious, McGowan----thats a scary backfield!!!! lets all hope that the O-Line will finally step up and contribute to the team!!!!!!!!!!!!!

where is the official all region list?

no i don't. just asking i don't think there is that type of player on oaklands team. however with lavergne's coaching change i wouldn't mind seeing a few of them on Patriot drive next year!! Maybe a QB?!?!?!?!?

has anyone heard any rumors about players changing teams throughout the county next year? are the final all region selections posted? and where?

A. McGowan had 3 ints. 1 against blackman and two against lavergne. he had about 5 fum rec. and about 5 forced fums.

I mean absolutely no disrespect to KG at all. what he has gone through is unfathomable!!! but i don't feel that the all region is a life time achievement award. he may deserve all region,but not for the past three years. thats why they have them every year. I hope he gets it i didn't mean to pick on just kaelin. sorry if i offended you. i have nothin but respect for the kid and every kid on oaklands team that goes out there and busts their butts. maybe the coaching staff is to blame for the poor play of the o line, not kaelin. does each coach vote for his players? i.e. ferg votes for kaelin. or do all the coaches vote on all players? I.e. shadowens votes for a. mcgowan.

LC and Lavergne? You can't honestly believe that the personal foul at the end of the first half was costly. yeah it led to a field goal...A FIELD GOAL!!!!! The lack of adjustments by the coaching staff cost them that game, not michael!!! and as for lincoln county two missed field goals and a terrible 1st quarter by the entire D gost them the win. but back to lavergne, there was absolutely no pass rush by oakland in the second half. A-Rod had a picnic in the backfield before he passed the ball. any reciever can get open with that much time!!! Michael had a touchdown and several sacks this year. not to mention a 15 tackle night against riverdale!! he also played both ways(FB) and could have gained more yards if he was utilized better!! where was kaelin on the disappointing o-line? thats right he shut it down so that he would pnly have to play D!! a true leader would have stepped it up and helped out a weak o-line!! I don't mean to bash him, he was graet at times but never really consistent to last year's standards that he set. he may deserve all-region but so does Michael.....By the way who votes on all region?
