  1. well here is my smilie2cents-1.gif I played back in the day (almost too long to remember now) but TN had A, AA, and AAA. No DI or DII. Personally I think we have too many divisions today. How many other sports in Tenn. have that many state champions?

As for the Zoning Restrictions...Maybe more schools should try it, who knows maybe some of the struggling schools would have to actually step up their game. NinjaHiding101.gif competition is a good thing, especially when it makes everyone around you better!

  2. Hey coach, I do not think it is appropriate for a CAK football coach to get into with a loyal Sequoyah fan. You should be more worried about getting your defense ready than what Sequoyah fan thinks.

Welcome to CoachT. Nice first post by the way...

First, do not assume you know who I am.

Second, was not getting "into it," its called a message board and friendly bantar is what makes it fun to read.

Third, if 5 to 10 mins. on a message board leads to the demise of the CAK defense...well CAK has trouble.

  3. Ok folks its almost Friday (couple of hours), this is me last chance to make me prediction for the game. All week long been reading post about what CAK should do, ya know just opinions, not many concerns about the wahoos from Monroe County, I'm wondering (or maybe just hoping) that the Warriors are not too worried about coming to the Chop House also. Yeah they dropped a bunch on Chiefs last year and Sequoyah has not beat a good opponent (Tellico Plains, Meigs), yet...CAK has a great coaching staff and has pounded the fact not to overlook anbody, but I have raised a couple of teenagers and I know how hard it is to them focused. Perfect scenario for the Chiefs, a qb controversy (maybe), revamping of a defense (maybe), overlooking a team who has only won twice in the last fourteen games (maybe), Alumni coming in and firing the team up (would like to see Jerome Felton (Detroit Lions) in and give a few words, but not likely this week), the Chiefs ground game dominating the clock (maybe), a couple of tip passes intercepted by the Chiefs (maybe).....(can you tell I'm having fun with this)..... Also, I would like to see our Indian Warriors (on the horses) plant a flaming spear in the middle of the field before kickoff (kinda like FSU does). Would like our young men to realize this is a chance to put Sequoyah on the football map, this is Homecoming and protect this (Chop) House! GO CHIEFS!!!

    Chiefs 24

    Warriors 21

Ok now I know you guys are going to rip me good, just be nice :popcorneater:

RIP? no, would like to look at a couple of things...

QB Issue? nope, no matter which one plays watch out

revamped D? you better hope not...

Overlooking a team who put the warriors down for homecoming? pissedoff2.gif

Dominating the clock? I could be wrong (have been mayn times) but I don't think CAK has won the T.O.P yet this year

I will agree planting a flaming spear would be a nice touch!

  4.:blink::blink: I am pretty sure this is about CAK and Sequoyah...not about how a team should be ran. having said that I have already put on the eye black, spatted the cleats and I am waiting on the bus for the ride down :P Let's get this game going.

For the Sequoyah fatihful, How many people show up for a game at the chop house?

  5. hey FB, I was checking out the Sequoyah High School Website and noticed that they are having a homecoming meal ( :hungry: Chili Supper :hungry: ) at 5:30 in the cafeteria for only 6 bucks. You think we can get a carpool group together and support the cheifs and the chiefs? Nothing better than a big bowl of Chili and a Friday night Football Game. :thumb:

  6. I expect Epperly to play, but haven't heard for sure, but I think thats the general consensus. As far as Loudon goes, first, they have a couple of very nice players in #6 & #8. Both ran the ball very determined and their offensive line blocked well. Secondly, we prepared for their option and they threw the ball a great deal more than expected, and with some success. Won't go into why they were successful on the pass, but I expect us to get that corrected. Third, due to poor special teams play (which had been mostly good up to this point) Loudon had short fields to work with on numerous occassions. Finally, we demonstrated a very poor ability to wrap up the ball carrier and get him to the ground. We are better at tackling than what we showed against Loudon, or at least I believe we are. We'll find out soon enough. Also, Loudon had a pick 6 to add to their point total.

FB I agree the tackling issue is one that needs to be addressed. It not only shows up on Def. but also on special teams. I believe CAK had eight kickoffs that they had to cover and stopped loudon inside their own 20 4 times. (not to mention the one that was fumbled... ) But the one that hurt was the one before half time that was almost returned the distance with only seconds remaining. It allowed Loudon to kick a fieldgoal.

  7. CAK coming off a big come from behind emotional win at Loudon, looks to keep things going into the right direction as they head into the Chop House for a fight with Chiefs who used their bye to try to get healthy, opinions please? Do the Chiefs have what it takes to pull the upset? (keep it clean)

no too much horse power for the chiefs to handle...

You may spark more interest from the CAK faithful by talking about your game night atomsphere and concessions...I know FB will be in the hunt for some grub. :roflolk:

  8. WOW!!!......what a game! Its ashame that either team had to lose tonight. #6 for Loudon lead his team right down to the wire, great playmaker. Looked like all the Redskin players left it on the field tonight respekt.gif

Now for my Warriors:eusa_dance.gif Congratulations on a hard fought, hard earned victory! You snatched victory out of the jaws of defeat repeatedly. You never quit and kept battling. The entire offense should have been MVP. O line and backs stepped up big and protected our inexperienced QB, the receivers played lights out, and #12 has to get a huge pat on the back. Tough team and tough place to cut your teeth as a first time starting QB. I believe he had app. 450 passing yards and 5-6 TD passes.

Defensive Unit and Special Teams....not going to throw you under the bus tonight, just enjoy the victory...there will be plenty of buses running next week for me to throw you under :D You faced adversity tonight and found a way to win. Sleep good!!

FB...That was some show by the O. the scary thing is there where 5 or 6 sophmores on the field for the CAK Off. Charlie (the backup QB) is a sophmore and it seems that he will be a pretty good one.

If you missed this one you missed a great one! hats off to # 6 and # 8 for Loudon.

  9. You all are right. I doubt Loudon will even bother to show up. CAK will pull up to an empty stadium, be informed Loudon has forfeited, and everyone can head home. Have a safe trip.

wooohooo...finally. gald to see you guys do still have a football following

  10. sorry GVK I was out hiding in the grass behind the woodshed...but since you asked I will give some of my ideas.

This game will be won on the Dline. Loudon from history and this year so far will try to run the option and the QB. If CAK wants to be in the game shut down the QB and the Option. CAK on the other hand puts up points by the bunches. Loudon will have to figure out how to slow CAK down. CAK has only punted 4 times this year...that is an average of 1 punt per game. Even when the JV guys have played they still seem to move the ball pretty well.

Not that facts should get in the way of a game or anything but CAK has scored 28 on Grace, 35 on Seymour, 55 on Stone Memorial, and 48 on Carter. While Loudon has scored 3 on Alcoa, 10 on Lenior City, and 34 on Campbell County (0-4 and will prob. finish 0-10).

I will not post a score, but I think the outcome will be a shock to a lot of people

  11. Wow, sure wish Carter statisticians would come teach our CAK guys how to count tackles. Maybe all the tackles are legit, but looks like a little padding of the stats. I guess we will find out how good they are Friday night.

It may be that the Hornet Defense is spending a lot of time on the field...which could be good or bad. :thumb:

  12. YOU SIR ARE FULL OF CRAP AND TRY SPELL CHECK.WE LOVE OUR FOOTBALL TEAM AS MUCH AS YOU LOVE YOURS.I'M SO TIRED OF THE SO CALLED ELITE OF CAK LOOKING DOWN ON US.YOU BETTER BE READY!!!!TIME FOR SOME RESPECT CAK OR SHOULD I CALL YOU THE ELITE OF KNOXVILLE OR JUST OVERRATED OF KNOXVILLE? PANTHERS ALL WAY

Easy there little tiger....lay off the roids. blueeagle is not a CAK guy/gal. I can promise that you guys on the plateau have the attention of CAK. enjoy the ride down, have a chick-fil-a sandwich, and enjoy some high school football.

  13. Aren't there rules in place that say a player can only play in 6 quarters per week?

Rules? Rules? well lets see... paying for players check, Playing players more than 6 Qtrs check, running a scoreboard including scores during a scrimmage check, having only 4 guys on the field with ineligable numbers check... Football IQ may not be of the most importance.

  14. Is it true that Grace played "several" Varsity starters in a JV game on Monday?

Well JRsDad... It is true and I couldnt believe it myself. I hope Grace blames this on numbers or something. Why else would you take starters to a JV game? Maybe Mckamey was wanting to finally beat CAK, if so congrats coach on a super job! The final score was 7 to 6 in favor of the RAMS.

on another note I hear Bearden picked up Waters? (#3) that means 2 sophmore football players have left Grace in the last two weeks.
