If so, thats great. People tend to add 30, 40 more people to their bands not knowing who sees these bands weekly. Last year someone stated Pearl had over 80 people....they had 50 at the most....unless your counting band staff and band boosters!

According to the The Thundering Herd, PC can not read sheet music so that makes them not a very good band??? Go figure! I do not know anything about music, but I know they put on a great show. It makes the atmosphere around a football game awesome as a fan. They are loud and never stop.

it is a sport. We Practice frm 345-8 mon-wed and thurs frk 5-untill. We have to do push ups. we have to run around the track. We pratice more then the football time.

 

You might want to spend some time on your spelling and sentence structure skills.

Since this year. Band camp we had 89 students and we where missing 6drummers and 3trup. 2tubas 3sax. 1bar. we have a ton of freshmans and people who have changed schools. The first day of school is Monday and where hoping to get more!

OK so most of you guys think marching band is not a sport. Well imma speak for all the big 10 marching style schools. IT IS A SPORT and if you dont know what a big 10 marching school is watch drumline its mostly HBCU. But how would you say that and when i was in high school anybody could tell you we worked harder then anybody. And till this they they still do. They have pratice monday-wed from 2:45 untill 7pm and on thursdays 4-8 unless its heck week "Another big 10 marching band" and on thursday we will but there 4-untill we get it right and i know we stayed out there untill 10:30 one year. So you still say its not a sport???? And if you wondering what school that is PEARL-COHN IN NASHVILLE TN

Strange that you never hear an official these days warn a sideline for a band playing thru a play on the field...this is prohibited in most association rules (as well as in college; and I have seen warnings given by officials in the NCAA). It is getting to be a commonplace violation; and might ought to be addressed by the TSSAA as there are come groups that do this on purpose (and I have even seen it done under instructions of school officials!).

 

Anything to get an advantage these days...

Well these is how it goes for the band. Black schools in college and high schools all have big 10 marching bands such as pearl-cohn or tsu "tennessee state" . When we were in 4a we played more schools that had bands that was just like us. and we would battle but we would only play when the other team had the ball and they would play when we had the ball. so basically it was even but now that we are in 3a and we been facing more corp style marching bands its not the same because they probly only know like 4 songs and we know about 30 song that we have to learn from the summer and on. Now we are doing to howard and howard has a band just like us even though they only have a good 25 people and we are at 102 it should be a even match! So basically it depends and what school you go to. Now if you wanna talk about bands go to Atlanta and its a high school called southwest dekab and they have a band with 350 people! I wouldn't go that far. I do think Sycamore is better than what PC thinks, or expects, and if they start counting their win before they play, they may be kicking themselves all the way back to Nashville. BUT, I do expect PC to walk away with by a 14 margin, even though I'll be pulling for Sycamore. Its not being cocky it just we was raised diffrent and, when we step on the feild every friday the only thing we are thinking about is getting the job done so we can go home and get ready for next week. O YEAH SHOTS OUT TO THE PEARL COHN MARCHING BAND!

When I saw the score my first question was and still is "Did they leave the 1st team in to do it"? Most teams pull their starters out when they have a team down by 30-40 points. It gives the JV team some time on the floor and cuts down on the chance of getting a starter hurt in a game that has been decided.

Were they pressing on defense, and if so, were they still pressing a team down by 60 points?

 

From the box scores, it looked like PC scored about the same number of points each qtr..

If they did it with the starters in- what's the point?

If they did it with the subs in, then the score is what it is.

Yes there starters stayed in the game the whole time. The 1st Q. We had them 32 to 1.

How many high school girls teams have scored over 100 points this year? Well the Lady firebirds girl beats the toppers 103 to 17 someone top that!

I put money on it cant nobody mess with pearl-cohns drumline out of Nashville Tn.

We have real majorettes but the only thing they do is dance but we have a twirler that dances with fire.
