  1. I have never laughed so hard in my entire life. First, who ever said Trey Tarpley is the best player in the mid-state is crazy. Trey is a great kid, but isn't even the best player on Hendersonville's team. That honor, in my opinion, goes to Carson Jacobs. Second, who ever is talking about McGavock Golf should really look in to what mid-state golf is all about. Having been around Mid-State High School Golf a lot over these last few years, here is my top 10 in no particular order 1)Payne Denman (DeKalb County High School) 2)Tyler Smith (Franklin Road Academy) 3)Brett Patterson (?) 4)Steven Coffelt (?) 5)Cole Parrish (Ensworth) 6)Dylan Hopper (Mount Juliet High School) 7)Carson Jacobs (Hendersonville High School) 8)Tanner Taddeo (Pope John Paul II) 9)Warren Cheyney (Father Ryan) 10)Tyler LeRoy (Montgomery Bell Academy) The Mid-State is always packed with talent. It's players like the above that make me somewhat glad I am done with Junior Golf. Plain and simple I was tired of getting whipped by the guys every summer. If I had to pick a Mid-State player of the year I couldn't pick just one. So many of these kids are qualified enough to win. They are all great players and will all do very well at the next level.
  2. Sounds like it was a good win for York on Friday night. I wasn't able to be at the game, but congrats to you guys. Rolling in to Madison and coming out with a win isn't the easiest thing to do. To the Goodpasture players and coaches: you guys had a heck of a year and all of Cougar Nation is proud of you. To the Class of 2010: you all put together an outstanding career and have nothing to hang your head about. To the York fans: I hope you enjoyed the atmosphere at Goodpasture on Friday night. I've been to a lot of high school stadiums, and there is nothing like playing under the lights next to I-65. As far as the public/private battle is concerned I think you proved tonight that it is a pretty fair match up. All things considered, good win York, great season Cougars. I just hope someone is man enough to knock the Tornadoes off this year.
  3. good post. having played with all 3 of these kids that they are all extremely talented. having watched joe alot over the last two years he has a talent i have never seen in a junior golfer. no matter how he is playing if he absolutely has to have a birdie...he can do it. o and for the record to my knowledge dylan has never beaten joe. at least i think thats right. tyler smith is a great player. looking forward to seein him play well next year. for the record the district with CPA FRA Lipscomb and Goodpasture...has to be one of the toughest in the state. both boys and girls champs in A-AA came from this DISTRICT.. pretty stout if you ask me. goodpasture shot 290 and didnt even make it out of the district. which other district had the top 4 teams at 290 or better?
  4. No taunting cheers. im pretty sure i heard ALCOA, yes ALCOA fans yelling "overated" at the cougar seniors after the game. YOU WON, WIN GRACEFULLY AND RESPECTFULLY. also kyrus lanxter was the only one gp couldnt keep up with. ill give you credit that kid can move. congrats to ALOCOA AND GOODPASTURE on great seasons. i think both teams will be back next year.
  5. please tell me who this goodpasture player was. i know em all and not a one would ever do that. not even to a lipscomb player and that is our biggest rival. tell me who it is and ill tell you if its true. if you cant provide me with a name this information is a load. i would be SHOCKED if this really did happen. check your source and information again please
  6. in my opinion Joe David tops all. ive seen many good players including millard, lexus k. , justin walker, payne denman, tyler cassety, tyler smith, brian balthrop, and many others. in my opinion Joe David is the best by far. state this year was rocky but the kid played in the polo.!! the only other tn boy to do that was wes roach, another great player. playing with many of these boys i think joe is the only one who has most all of it.
  7. thats a little extreme. its too close to call. Goodpasture has speed and size and i dont know if the tornados can handle fisher, groves, locke, medely, and lovell. ill be there and pulling for GP. as for lipscomb, ive seen elrod play and i dont think that boys of fulton can handle him either. shut him down and fulton might have a chance. but with DL anyone can stepup at any given moment. dont be shocked if GP and DL take home gold balls
