1. QUOTE(UGArocks @ Feb 21 2007 - 09:46 PM) 826383742Wow I didnt know that flopping would give someone the reason to hate. The definition Hate is an intense hostility and aversion usually deriving from fear, anger, or sense of injury. David Anderson is one of the best defenders in the district. He does what is asked of him and never retaliates to his opponents cheap shots toward him. You might want to choose your words a little more wisely before posting. Oh and the next time you see Anderson take a charge, you can lose it like the loser you are. Also one question for you, Dont you have anything else better to do than bash other players on coacht? What is your problem?!!?!

I understand that it's part of his game, but you have to admit, he does flop an awful lot. I have reason to dislike CPA, believe me - they're my rival school. Anderson is a good player, I just wish he didn't resort to some of his gimmicks. He has good D and a pretty good offensive game. Another thing: I respect people who take legit charges, but some of the stuff Anderson falls at is ridiculous, regardless if you admit it or not. Maybe "hate" was the wrong word, but would you logically assume someone is that angry and hostile to someone he barely knows? I also appreciate your addressing me as a "loser." Way to practice what you preach.

  2. QUOTE(ThePenguin @ Feb 22 2007 - 07:57 PM) 826385064hahahah are you serious...have you watched any of there games vs. CPA!! The last two times before district they played he was held to 24 and 13!!!!!!! so i would say that he did have a GREAT game in the championship!! If these two teams get another chance to play....mark my words it will be a different game! Gerald got hot quick hitting his first 3 three's! so not to take away from his ability because he does usually play lights out....but CPA and Anderson guarding him has worked 2 out of the last 3 games so watch out MLK!

If CPA wants to advance, they might wanna throw it in to Z a little bit.

  3. QUOTE(ThePenguin @ Feb 22 2007 - 08:02 PM) 826385071WHAT THE HECK!!!! Could someone please tell me why Doc Shelton was given the Coach award!!! I mean he is a great guy but he was ill half the season!!!!!! thats ridiculous!!! and from what i saw at the game....he was pretty reluctant to hand it over to his assitant!!!!!

I heard he actually handed the award over to the assistant rather quickly. However, I think Maddux (although I hate to say it) deserved the honor.

  4. QUOTE(thecrippler2222 @ Feb 21 2007 - 08:37 AM) 826382471Pretty disappointing to see that big "Z" couldn't even put up double digits against one of the smallest teams in the district.

Congrats to MLK on yet another district championship, with Doc coaching it seems like they should just skip to region cuz they win every year. Hopefully this year they can find a way to not choke at region like last year. They have been winning recently so as long as Gerald keeps his cool they should have a shot at making it to sub-state and they are going to need to win region to have any shot at making it past sub-state because whoever gets the two seed out of region will get dominated by liberty

The main reason that Z didn't reach double-digits is because CPA completely got away from feeding him. In addition, he didn't work too hard on sealing and Smith from MLK is a very good post defender.

The game was very exciting and I couldn't wished for a better one to watch. I think everyone not for CPA (and probably even some of them) hates Anderson (#1). If I see him flop one more time, I may lose it.

  5. Although CPA is riding high from the big win at Lipscomb on Thursday, I'll go with MLK in a close game. Gerald should carry the load once again, with good supporting performances from some of the others. Miller from CPA needs to actually score a bucket for CPA to have a shot.

I disagree with your analysis of the game. I think what you call poor play was more a refelction of the coaching. I think the players played as their coach's instructed them to. Which is why I was confused with the DL's coaching strategy. I think it made for an ugly game. I think their decision to face guard Miller the whole game back fired on them. They under estimated the abilities of the other CPA players. CPA plays unselfish team ball and that is why they won.

I agree with you for the most part. It was poor play, like I said, but I do attribute a lot of it to the coaching for each team. You're right, face-guarding Miller and opting for Anderson and Z to beat your isn't a great move, but it's one of the better ideas for guarding CPA, IMO.

Even if the "players played as their coach's instructed," Clayton and Slater both missed crucial shots, namely Slater. Late in the game, he should hit those shots at the line. And you have to admit, nearly every 3 he (Slater) took bricked, not just missed.

  7. CPA beat Lipscomb, 35-32. I was at the game and it was really ugly. Slater, Clayton and Miller all played poorly, and I was especially suprised at Slater's lack of control.

Anderson from CPA stepped up for Miller and Mason played pretty decent (hit 2 3's, good inside play). Overall, it was exciting but not great execution from either team.

I was confused at DL's coaching; I would say they were outcoached by CPA. CPA's fans stormed the court after the game.

What a night in the district with a huge win for CPA over MLK in overtime!!!!! CPA went up 19 early in the first half but MLK came back to lead at half and by 10 with about 4 minutes to go. Robinson then fouled out and CPA came back to send it into overtime. In overtime the Royals had no offense and CPA hit big foul shots to take the game! With DL big win over FRA tonight this sets up a big round 2 showdown on Saturday night with CPA @ DL!! also EZELL got a huge win on the road over Pearl Cohn.

Umm, Pearl-Cohn beat Ezell by 35...
