Wright is definitely something special. I thought he was one of the main reasons UNC had such a great year. Congrats to Wright, from the sounds of it, he has earned some applause through high school and college.

Hey a West Greene education is pretty good, considering that 2 Niswonger scholarships went to West Greene this year and a few years ago a girl got the Peyton Manning scholarship. Its hard to consider Greeneville in the county because they don't play another county team consistently. Duncan has done a great job and Wiggins is something special, but I don't know about earning the county awards. They should though, I think, win their conference's coach of the year and player of the year.

Commanding win tonight for West Greene over Sullivan North. 68-46 I believe. I'm pretty sure that West Greene gets to play at least 3 more games now: vs. Erwin tomorrow, the consolation or finals, and at least one regional tournament game.

Tonight will be great! If West Greene plays with a lot of heart, they will win by a lot tonight. The season don't mean anything now, so I want to see them go out there and stomp Sullivan North. GO BUFFS!

BIG win tonight for West Greene. They have now won the County Championship, and get to play at their home court for the first tournament game. I believe the score was 62-53, but I could be wrong.

Another characteristic of a true team is everybody knowing what they need to do in order to win, whether its scoring 15 or getting 8 assists with 1 turnover. Nobody tries to be the star that does everything.

West Greene has looked the best and the worst at times, but they have played South Greene tough this year. I got WG 3. Free throws will be a key.

Man I like Chuckey-Doak, but Unicoi is a monster. I'd love to see Unicoi get knocked off, but its unlikely. Good luck though!

There are just the consolations and the finals left in the tourney, the games go as follows: Girls Consolation: McDonald vs. Nolachukey 5pm Boys Consolation: Baileyton vs. McDonald 6pm Girls Finals: Mosheim vs. Glenwood 7pm Boys Finals: Nolachuckey vs. Mosheim 8pm All games are on Monday, Feb. 5. Any opinions on the outcomes?

Is West Greene still playing tomorrow, even though school is cancelled?

WG has beaten South Greene while Chuckey-Doak hasn't, so it evens out.

Listen here, at least we're getting better in basketball. We've hit a real hot streak here lately up until the Blue Devil game,but we didn't lose a ton of momentum in that one. Also we will have a new coach this year in football so we will do better in it. Also you said WG has been getting spanked in everything for the past 20 years and you're calling BillyBobBasketball retarded? Take a look at some of our history. Does anybody know if or when the Cherokee game has been rescheduled to?

The only thing I thought was strange was that on the Greeneville Sun website, there were only two pictures with a ball in a WG player's hand, possibly three because a player from both teams were fighting for a rebound, the rest with South Greene. I love WG to death, but the only way they will beat the Blue Devils is if WG brings their A game and the other team brings their C game.

Everybody pray for that girl's family, this was a complete shock.

If you can't find a comeback from L_333's statement then you're the loser. Obviously we know who you support, and its sportsmanship like that that keeps certain statements from being credible. At least he got his facts straight.

Really if West Greene was going to sweep South Greene they needed to do it this year. It will be about 3 or 4 years before their talent is equal to or exceeds South Greene's talent. They can still beat them next year, but they will have to work hard for it.

That's one of many reasons nobody likes South Greene around here. They think they own WG and when they get beat, they just whine about it. Best of luck to West Greene. GO BUFFS

I know what_a_game is gone now, but this kills me. West Greene has won 4 games already after Christmas out of a possible 5, and from what I understood, they had Sullivan North beat until Jesse got in foul trouble.

It would be really hard for anybody to say that South Greene is better than West Greene.

Man I wish I could've been there! One big thing in sports also is momentum, and West Greene has it. I don't want to jynx WG, but this was the team envisioned by the fans before the season started.

I badly wish I could, but we've had some events collide with each other and I can't. Best of Luck to West Greene tonight. They've beat them before and they can do it again!

West Greene has gotten off to a good start in the second half of the season in going 3-1, but the game tonight vs. South Greene will set the tone for the rest of the season.
