  1. According to the local paper, #34 for ND is playing tonight. Since he is the best RB in the AA East, that certainly changes things.

Not sure if it's true though since one of the "key payers" for CCS (in the same article) is not playing.

    35 points?? Against ND??

I don't think so. The only teams we do that to usually give us a LOT of help in the form of turnovers ... like Silverdale, Lookout Valley or Whitwell (this year).

I'll be thrilled with a victory of any amount.

You guys have played them both. What does CAK do better than BB that you’ve seen that would lead to your prediction?

These teams are about even. I wouldn't be shocked if Boyd won.

But I do think Boyd is over rated. Their schedule has been rediculously easy. On the other hand, CAK has played a much tougher schedule.

Like Grace, we made it much too easy for Boyd to pass against us. I don't think CAK will do that.

You guys did a good job controlling our running game. QB was 27-33 378 5 TD’s, I know it wasn’t pretty to watch on your side, but the kid had an almost perfect game.

Absolutely!  He is by far the best QB in AA East. But we certainly didn't put a lot of pressure on him. I think we're married to the 3 man rush.

Good game by the Chargers. GCA defense is stout and controlled CCS most of the night. The Chargers are a good football team and will be fine going into the playoffs. Congrats to the RAMS on the victory and the #1 spot in the region.

    Congratulations to Grace.

We simply could not stop the pass ... just like last year.

Notre Dame next for us. Expect a tough game as always.

  6. Red, White & Blue theme tonight at the game.

Students are breaking out the slip-n-slide behind the East end zone.

Oh yeah ... pretty important game too, which will probably decide #1 in the East Region.

Hope CCS can stop the passing attack from Grace - something they did NOT do last year (35-0 at the half as I recall). However, encouraged by the last 6 quarters of football played by our defense - only 3 points allowed (against CAK on a 48 yd FG).

But Grace is a different team altogether ... should be the top ranked team in the East.

To the Grace fans ... have a safe trip down.

GCA burns more rubber down I-75 to take on the Chargers. Both teams are undefeated in Region play and tied at the top of the East. GCA is pretty healthy, nobody out that I know of for this one. How healthy are you guys, OLDad?

We're in good shape. We have a couple of guys that were injured in pre-season and haven't played at all this year and one that got hurt in the McCallie game (out for season). We got a RB that didn't play against CAK that should be available too.

The coach said this is the most depth he's had since being at CCS.

Start your trip early ... traffic through the ridge cut is bad every day, but especially on Friday. And they have construction going at the I-75 I-24 exchange.

Well it was a great game! At the end of the day McCallie made one or two more plays. But the state of Tennessee may have both of the best teams playing in Chattanooga.

Definitely the game of the year!

  9. I see a much closer game ... lets say, Boyd by 7. I could be wrong - wouldn't be the 1st time.

Boyd has certainly turned things around this year after going 0-10 last year, being mercy ruled in every game.

However, they have not improved all the way to #3 in the state (AP rankings). In reality, they are somewhere in the middle of DII-AA East, which is still, a FANTASTIC turnaround ... and they will be even better next year.

  10. Normally, I agree with everything that Spartan4Life says about high school football. Unlike a lot of people on this board, he has credibility. But in this particular game, we will probably disagree (he hasn’t made his prediction, but I assume it will be Baylor).

I’ve also listened to everyone talk about how the loss of J Hardy will impact McCallie … and by how many points. Also, people talk a lot about the Baylor running back and how great he is (no argument from me). Everybody wants to talk about the 4 star guys.

BUT … in my opinion, everyone is overlooking THE KEY player in the game, which is DeAngelo Hardy, the McCallie QB. As a McCallie QB, he has NEVER lost to Baylor – including middle school when J Hardy was a member of the Baylor team. This kid is a difference maker. No other player in this game will have more of a “point difference” than “Delo”. Regardless of how many yards Howard has, the only chance Baylor has of winning is to completely stop the McCallie QB … and they never have. When you combine Delo with McCallie’s RB and probably the best OL in DII-AAA (most would say Catholic), the McCallie offense is hard to stop.

    I pick McCallie 31-21

Not so sure about this one. Grace has played a mediocre (at best) Stone Memorial team, a bad York team and beat Notre Dame, which isn't the same ND of past years. They're really down. So, at this point, I'm not sold that GCA is the front runner. Several region games ahead that will help shake things out. I'd say we're a solid top 3 team in the east.

Who would you consider the other 2 teams in the East that are top 3?

If ND is one of them, that makes Grace top 2.

  12. I'm not sold that Notre Dame is down & out this year. That score last week just didn't make sense to me.

I know they have a good O-Line ... and that RB, is there a better runner in DII-AA? I don't think so.

Mistakes against a good team (Grace) will cost you big. I expect them to win the majority of their remaining games.

CCS is a question mark. This region is wide open. Webb looked better Friday, Boyd is looking good, Notre Dame is a question mark, and CAK is looking STRONG. This Friday will tell us a lot about this region.

    How good/bad is Notre Dame?

    Is CCS sneaky good?

Will Webb turn it around and take care of business?

    Is Boyd legit?

    Is Grace a contender?

I guess many of your questions were answered.

Boyd IS LEGIT ... they can compete with anyone in the region.

    Nothing sneaky about CCS.

Grace should be considered the favorite in the region.

I know the least about CAK, but will see them Friday.
